To be fair, we were in urgent need of a truck and Swift helped us. Our first reservation was made for a 15-foot truck with U-Haul in Owosso on west M-21 and was made days earlier through a wonderful and dependable U-Haul location in Houghton Lake, MI (owner is Sandy and she's wonderful). When we drove two hours on Saturday to get that 15-foot truck, the Owosso place was closed. Supposedly, the Owosso "owner" had spent two days trying to contact me, yet no emails nor voice mails were left so frankly, that owner is lying. I'm surprised that corporate allows that person to have a franchise, it's a dump. Anyway, Swift, which is located east of Owosso, had a 20-foot truck that had just come in. With a moving team waiting on us, the employee turned it around quickly, therefore, did not have time (I guess) to check it out other than gas which was full. When I reached our moving site, the previous renter had removed the moving blankets and dolly so I would like to ensure that we did not take those items. And there was a chest in the truck that the previous renter broke during their move and decided to just leave, also not us. So, given our expectation of getting what we needed and the reality of having to up-pay for a truck we didn't need due to scrambling at the last minute, it wasn't a great experience over-all. Yet this isn't the fault of Houghton Lake or Swift.

Tiffany aThe app is terrible. I’ve used it twice within the last year and both times I was unable to successfully navigate the steps due to technical issues. Both times I’ve had to contact the customer service center when they had to text me the link to continue the process. Originally I was supposed to pick up the location at a tire shop at 8am. The tire shop didn’t open until 830. Come to find out my pick up location was changed and I was never notified. The truck was not clean, the appliance dolly was not in the truck, and knowingly I was traveling across country that the tank was only at 1/2 which was inconvenient because I had to fill it up before getting on the road.

ALLEN LI understand equipment gets moved around and they don't always know what they're getting, but this one had a loose driver side mirror along with multiple scrapes and scratches. Over 125K miles seems like a lot for this kind of truck. However, it drive with no problem. Just that stupid mirror had to be fixed after every bump.

TIMOTHY MU-Haul Moving Help Customer Service is a joke. I went through 3 Customer Service Reps trying to get someone on the phone & it would ring until it eventually hung up. Terrible experience & a joke. I got the direct phone number to U-Haul moving help and had to call continuously over 30 times + most everyone else would just give up. That’s how the system is designed = customer service fatigue& horrible experience.

JOHN GYour question was the equipment, clean and clean well maintained I said no. It was clean and I am sure that. Swift windshield repair had no idea that the trailer had a leak in the front left corner. I called Uhaul to report the leak so I don’t hold that against the company I rented it from. If customers don’t notify Uhaul that something is not correct it can’t be fixed. The other issue I’ve had this time and in the past that the rental software that dealers have to use always puts an eight dollar insurance on the trailer rental even when the customer says they did not want any extra insurance. Swift windshield repair had to redo the contract about three times to get the correct price and they had to put the return time at 22 hours after the rental time instead of a full 24 hours because again the software was trying to charge for an extra day. In the last few years, I have rented several times from Uhaul and have to go through the same issue every time. It doesn’t seem like I can just walk into a U-Haul rental place and get in and out in a timely manner. I usually end up spending about an hour before they finally get my contract and price correct and get me hooked up and ready to go. This is unacceptable.
David STruck belts were squeaking. Truck was filthy. Everything from left overs from previous moves to a fake finger nail. Had to clean the truck before I used it so I didn’t take other peoples filth into my house.
