Hello. I had a 10AM pick up on Friday 1/22/21 at the above location. Any time I tried calling them prior, no one would ever pick up the phone. Anyway,I got there around 10:15 am, and the guy rudely said he didn't have a truck, and acted like I was a hassle. I walked out and sat outside and called 800gouhaul and they were directing me to someone to help. As I waited for a call back, the truck showed up in syosset about just before 10:30am. The guy at syosset tire and car care (middle age, Caucasian, glasses)csays â€˜oh the truck just showed up'... so as he's checking me out he's saying he can't pull up much on my info but yet got straight to the price. He tells me it's $238.21. I said â€œwhat?!â€ The woman on the phone who booked my reservation (she was nice and professional by the way) quoted me at $204.21 AFTER TAX. His reasoning to me for the extra fees was taxes. I later found out it was an extra $34 for insurance â€œSafe Moveâ€ which I was never aware of and NO ONE EVER offered me insurance. If so I would have turned it down. I'm in the process of hopefully getting a refund. Maybe whoever reads this can see to it that credit comes back to me. I'd be curious to know what time â€˜safe move' was applied, as to know who added it without my consent. Besides that. I spoke with a nice lady on the way and told her my troubles and she helped me find a drop off point and I dropped it off and everything should be fine and done on that end.mirko L.

The outside of the truck was extremely dirty to the point I asked the store owner if uhaul would say something to me returning it in that condition and got waved off that it wasn't an issue. All the way up to the â€œ moms atticâ€ was covered in dirt and I had to stop at a gas station just to clean the windshield because the wipers couldn't handle the dried dirt marks. I have never used a uhaul that dirty.stuart D.

I was originally told to go to another location on my email confirmation. I went to the Jericho Location and they did not have the van. Then they told me to go to the syosset location. The whole process took about two hours. Really wasted my time. Not happysuraj P.
This site did not do a walk around of the vehicle with us and/or have us acknowledge any current damage or lack there of on the vehicle prior to departure. They just gave us the keys and said to return it with gas. When we returned the vehicle to our home base location after a smooth, unscathed transit, we were hit with a $500 charge to our credit card for minor damage on the vehicle that apparently was not previously noted by this Syosset location. Again, there was no walk around of the vehicle prior to our departure nor did the employee review and have us sign any acknowledgement about the present damage or lack there of on the truck. This has created a great deal of stress for us as we are in the process of having this appealed and looked into. We are very disappointed in this experience with U-haul and will be making sure this experience is noted and gets resolved.Mark S.

Back of the truck still had debris and keys on the floor, it was not cleaned (swept) by previous renter or pick up location. The dealer did not inspected the vehicle with me. I had tire issues during my entire trip. The mirrors were not positioned properly they were tilted toward the floor. I had to find an Allen Key to adjust along the way. My reservation was changed to this location not at my request it was inconvenient for me, I had to take the bus since it was an additional 8 miles to this location.Richard T.

This was not the truck we ordered/reserved mor was it the location we reserved for pick up - so although the location was fine, the entire experience was tainted by the fact that Uhaul called us the day before our rental which was reserved a week prior to let us know they didn't have the truck we wanted nor was it up location we were requested. So! we had to drive an extra 20 miles to pick up a smaller truck and make multiple trips for our move. They also had the wrong Drop off location listed in the wrong state - we were dropping off in Stamford CT not Syosset NY. So It was not a great experience. We rent a good amount from Uhaul, so we were pretty disappointed.Peter H.

Both the cabin and the interior of the cargo compartment were dirty. I had to clean both before using. The interior of the cabin was worn. The driver's seat was torn and part of the dashboard was damaged. The staff at the location were professional and efficient.John L.

Steve overcharged me 100 miles and when I reviewed receipt in his shop told me to take it up with 1-800 UHaul CS (Steve checked truck to verify he overcharged). I called CS and they put shop owner & I in touch with Steve his Traffic Mgr who helped correct problem. Steve: No apology or interest in me as a customer... Would have done nothing to correct problem unless I took action there and then! Will never go back to this shop for anything or any reason ever again.William G.
The person in charge with rentals came 35 minutes late at work. The rental car was not there, they had to go get it, it took another 25 minutes. I returned the car with the gas tank on double amount than I got it and I didn't get reimbursed or credited for the extra gas left in tank. No way to use this location ever again.Marian V.

They failed to check in my equipment on 7-9 when I returned it. They failed to give me any proof of return other than handing my pre-paid paperwork back to me. I received a notice that I had FAILED to return the EQUIPMENT which was totally false. I returned the equipment in good order, the tank full, swept clean. When I called to follow up with the return location, they refused to talk to me. They said they would call me back in 15-20 minutes, the same thing they said on Saturday 7-9-16 when I actually returned the truck. Their U-Haul license should be revoked. They are representing to unsuspecting public they are a licensed U-haul location but fail to act as one. Miserable experience.Ellen L.

I arrived at 8:00 per my reservation The Uhaul Attendant did not arrive till 8:15 I had to go up tp the Uhaul rep to introduce myself as the Uhaul customer even though I signed in previously The vehicle was not ready and had to be cleaned up - finally left the facility at 8:45Ira S.
Steve was very accommodating and checked us in quickly. Personally since the place was closed as were ALL other uhauls around me, I had to pick it up a day earlier than I needed to. Since the uhauls were closed they couldn't rerent my uhaul van. Therefore, I wish I was only charged for one day, It isn't like they were rerenting it and I didn't need it for the first day and 1/2. The van sat in front of my house. Seems a bit unfair. I would be happy to speak to someone form customer care!!!audrey R.
