I reserved 15ft truck and auto transport 13 days prior to my pick up date. The day before, I receive a phone call telling me that a 15ft truck was not available and that I’d get a 20ft truck instead for the same price. Furthermore, the pick up location changed to Chula Vista which was further. On the day of pick up, the local agent tells me the 20ft truck hadn’t arrived but a 26ft was available. I requested a 15ft truck, not a 26ft truck. Then I had to call an agent to find a 20ft truck in the area and complete the self check-in process myself. The major problem I have is that I did not need that much space, I was only moving a one bedroom apartment and I had nowhere to park a 20ft/26ft truck in San Diego (where parking is very difficult). Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. I appreciate that the price maintained the same as my original 15ft quote and I also appreciate the military discount. I understand that this was only “request” and not guaranteed. Overall, I am very displeased about the reservation process. What’s the point of making a reservation two weeks in advance if you’re not going to deliver on what was requested?

RAFAEL ONo parking, have to cross a 4 lane road across the street to get rental. No lights worked on tow dolly. Was towing at night with no lights. None of lights worked hazard, turn signal or even parking light.

FRANCISCO MI ordered a 20 foot truck with a dolly a week prior. The guy at this location told me an hour before my 10am appointment that they didnt have 20 foot trucks. He offered me a 26 foot truck, and I agreed, but when I got there he didnt have the dolly I ordered either. I ended up having to get one myself from elsewhere for the over 100 boxes I had to move. Then when I dropped it off the parking location was closed by a gate and there was NO return box for the keys. After being harassed by some sketchy homeless dude while trying to find a safe dropoff key location I threw the keys into the uhaul, locked the door and left. This was the worst location Ive ever been to. He literally didnt have a single thing I asked fkr and nearly screwed me over, and I had to pay 20% more for the bigger vehicle.

I had to call corporate for assistance once I was done using the equipment. Once I arrived at the shop and employee from wither that shop or one near by was yelling at me that I couldn’t park in the U-Haul drop off parking space then I continued to yell profanity at me and by that time i reported to corporate
Carrie TThere was hardly any fuel and I let the people know. I actually left it with more fuel and was charged. The truck was filthy and smelled like something died inside. I wanted to throw up when I was loading it. There was blood on the back. I called to let them know i returned the truck on the same day. Very disappointed

DAVID TToo crowded, the business that is renting haul trucks , is a SUPER BUSY smog shop. I waited 25 minuets just to rent the truck. It had some ones memorial papers in iy from previous rental. I took it to the guy that rented the truck incase the person came back to get it. . Billed both of my cards telling me haul needed a 260. Dollar deposit but billed me 138.00. When we took the truck at 6pm after I extended my rental 2 times. 2 older men wetr waiting for me they said .that I would be contacted today.about my cards both being used. I still haven't heard from Uhaul
Jolene Mwill start by stating the rental was not in clean conditions. There was tons of personal items from the owner of the U-Haul in the front seats, along with the horrible experience. We rented to U-Haul, at first all great and nice (I will give them that). Then we get in to leave and the gas is on E ( when the agreement stated a quarter of gas) - fine we will put gas as they said it’s ok to bring it in the same level We arrive to the house to move, slide the door up and to our surprise huge metal posts on the back SO here to go back to the rental location. We told a guy that was there and said oops sorry maybe the owner left them since he does construction and uses the truck for that personal use- proceeds to get them down and off we go again. We use it, upon return we drop off and are told by the owner we will get a receipt in which I question how the mileage will be calculated as I provided an estimated use amount t that should be revised also taking on consideration the mileage I used to come back to get the metal things off the rental - and this is where all hell broke lose. I questioned one of the guys on why I just got a “$25” and wanted a clear amount on receipt and not a credit. Based on our calculations we used 19 miles out of the 40 estimated. The guy then tells me to figure it out with U-Haul and yes I DID question when all the bad experience was due to the owner having personal things which also delayed my moving process. He ignored me and here comes an older guy (which I believe is the owner and would not confirm even after I asked) telling me to stop yelling. I was not yelling and admit I was not happy and had a serious tone just asking for clearness and fairness on my total/receipt. The older guy starts telling me to leave and yelling that I’m being recorded and that would be banned from renting. I did say I would not even rent the piece of crap truck again but didn’t understand why the lack of customer service and rudeness. To finalize I’m getting in my car and the guy yells a racist comment (fucken Mexicans) and takes a photo of my vehicle. This is so sad and frustrating, and discriminatory for an owner of a business would act this way (specially coming from being he spoke Spanish too). I simple wanted clear receipt and charges - is that too much to ask as a customer?

Frederick LI really had a bad experience I got to the drop off and they had me drive to across the street were they have trailers and drop off dolly’s they had me waiting for about 40 minutes so I called the number and they made me desconecte the dolly I cut my finger with one off the wires poking out from the safety cable that connects to the hitch so I had to pick it up and park it my self I had to call him back after another 30 minute of him making me wait so he could check me out and he told me just to leave it thear tha they would check me out later for the drop off then I called the number to complain to see if they would give me some sort off credit and they just told me that they had just checked me out at the uhal were I picked it up very exelent service but the drop off location very poor and I still got punched and cup because they don’t do there job I have pictures to prove it

Nichole NIt's confusing when an auto shop handles uhauls there needs to be more signs about the auto shop actually being responsible for uhaul and area is very small for handling uhaul trucks and vans like , it's already crowded with car from all the other shops not easy check in or check out cuz there isn't parking available

Gisela DI made reservations online and had to wait for the representative to attend me. Took him a while. After I noticed he charged me insurance after I said no. When I returned the truck a person there yelled at me that next time they will not rent to me if I don't get insurance. I explained to him that on the website it wasn't required to get insurance. He kept arguing with me that he will no longer rent to me. Unless I do what he requires. So is the website different then the location? I've never had to argue with someone over this before. Do not go to this location

ROBERT CThey charged me for insurance even though I opted out of my online reservation, and the guy made me sign when I picked up the vehicle without reviewing the contract. He then told me that the receipt would be emailed to me within 20-30 minutes after handing in the keys for the return. When I insisted that he complete the return so I could review the receipt before leaving the property, he got a bit nervous and started to fumble on his words. The total was not adding up, so when the email finally arrived within 2 minutes of him submitting the return, the receipt indicated they had charged me the $15 optional insurance that I specifically opted out of on my initial reservation. After a few minutes back and forth, he issued me a refund for $15 but kept the taxes I paid on those extra fraudulent $15. He then indicated in the return receipt that the refund was for something other than the insurance, possibly to mask the fact that he tried to scam me. I feel this scam has unknowingly been successfully implemented on plenty of people before me. Please help make this right. Doing this is morally and ethically wrong, and it only makes me trust U-HAUL less. Ruins the brand reputation.

I’m very disappointing from this track today this is not my first Rental with you. I am renting a lot and this is not the quality. I’m normally get very poor service.

Julio Vthis wasn’t the place i chose when reserving the truck, i was called and told to go here, i didn’t complain it’s 5 miles farther as i’m paying for mileage but just dealt with it as it’s too late to change and find a truck, this place has multiple shops, no parking, also an auto shop i was told to wait and watched him working on the car, i finally just viewed the app as i remembered something about drop off, i just took a pic of the fuel, mileage, and the back inside, showing the dolly gave him the keys and just left, not the best of areas

HILDA MI rented a 9x12 trailer. My daughter and I had to connect the trailer ourselves and disconnect it upon return. They then said I was 1 minute late and charged me an entire second day!! I called the local number and nobody answered so I called U Haul corporate and got the extra charge refunded. U Haul should revoke this franchise and I would not even recommend this location to my worst enemy!!

GUILLERMO AThe auto hauler tires straps were a great concern, one of them was very worn and about 1/3 of it left. The truck was fine, and T100 was doing what he could, single operator with uhaul customers lined up on a Sunday.
DAVID MDon’t add extra charges that are not approved before hand by the customer. Make sure someone is always present during business hours. Sweep out and clean interior if the customer doesn’t clean it prior to the next customer’s use.

Donald EI had to travel a greater distance than I wanted to get my vehicle. Then I had to travel back to that same greater distance to return the vehicle. That was not to my liking. But would have to say that the rates are fair and the rental agent was very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and credible.

Oscar VI reserved a trailer 17 miles closer to my location. U-Haul changed the location. They called me and offered a discount of a few dollars that barely covered the cost of gas. The discount did not appear on my bill. But it was so small I’m not bothering, which I’m sure is what uhaul counts on.

Dianna PThe guy said he didn’t have room for the truck and I had to show him the email from Uhaul stating this was the correct location. Parking was impossible for the two 26ft trucks so I parked one in a fire zone on the street and the other truck in the parking lot blocking at least 4 cars for the surrounding businesses in the strip. He didn’t even look at the trucks. He just told me to give him the keys and he would close the contracts when he had time.
