The location is good. The U-Haul app is absolute garbage.

ANGELA SOnly location handy, gravel yard, no agent on site. Not happy about having to close out contract as to me that is your responsibility. Paid retail rate to be a part time U-Haul employee.
JOHN BBelow average rating based on poor lock drop off or lack thereof. I suspect the self check nature of the process is to blame for the lock not working/being seized which forced me to call the help line and request assistance as the site manager was not available. I was able to locate and facilitate an alternate vehicle for use while challenging the rain. The vehicle had low torque and performed poorly.

Sydni BTara and David were excellent to deal with. Uhaul infrastructure was cumbersome. Forced me to install an app to upload photos of my DL. Cumbersome poorly streamlined process that's been updated to be worse than previous experience. Accessing, using, and dropping off the equipment was super simple and convenient and I would recommend this business on that basis. But I will also warn the folks I recommend to be wary of the janky app and web forms that may take several tries and some patience to get working. When working on the user experience, ask the question: how can we reduce the number of broken webpages and apps that the customer needs to interact with to achieve the photos of the DL and equipment, get the signature for the policy document, and get paid? Hint: one well optimised web page would be ideal.

Trevor EThere is no office at this location just a parking lot and apparently a key drop box nailed to a telephone pole. The building at 2333 Mine Road has a sign stating this is NOT a Uhaul office. Hmm.
john yMy 12,000 leather couch got wet on the bottom and a bit on the sides as it was sitting on the floor having taken the feet off to fit it out the door. Not very impressed with ZERO call back on this. I hope I hear something from Uhaul.

Stephen NThe drop off is a parking lot with nothing around. Only because we had been there before we new what to do Be aware when you rent a trailer at the end of the day that is one of your days it’s not a 72 hrs. It cost me an extra day. Also they wouldn’t allow a one way trip to Vancouver Island from Vancouver. So not only did it cost me a extra day of rental it also cost an extra $300 in ferry costs. Was very disappointed with this experience

Nick GLiterally just an empty lot with 2 trucks. Very confusing on how to get into the truck. The lock on the back was nearly rusted shut it took 5 whole mins just to get it to unlatch.

Jeff LWe needed help in accessing the key to the van when our smart phone access did not work. We got help by phoning the Vancouver office. The person we dealt with was polite, helpful and did not rush us when we needed extra explanation to get the key. It turned out to be a positive experience.
Joan LTerrible location. It’s a parking lot, not even a key drop box. Unable to source local dealer, Then I was charged an extra 4 miles after I left an extra $30 worth of fuel in it? Charges under $10 should be waived. Cheap bastards

Eric NBetter security at this location. No office present might be why my original truck that I was supposed to pickup was vandalized and I had to take a much larger truck which cost me $200 more in ferry fees and gas. Also, because it was 10’ longer approximately, we could not park it where we wanted to offload which led to a lot of stress.
Francis DThe truck was very good except it leaked badly. In only 50 km of medium rainfall and everything was wet inside. It was not very water resistant (as claimed on the back) let alone waterproof ! The Port McNeill dealership is absolutely first rate. I have had 2 very pleasant experiences with Tera! I had previous U-Haul experience I'd rate acerage to good. This experience, other than the water, was fantastic!

nancy tTara was wonderful. She went above and beyond to help get us on the road. Much appreciated! You might consider having a bit more inventory at that location. We had to take a much larger vehicle than we needed. Certainly glad she had something available for us though as it was a .ast minute rental, late in the day.
Michelle HI ordered a 20 ft moving truck and was given A 26 ft truck because there was no 20 ft ones available. I was told I would be given the 26 ft truck at the same cost as the 20 ft one. I was charged the price of a 26 ft. My son was the driver of the truck and when we picked it up he paid for it online as the Port McNeil office was closed. I was also charged on my Visa for the rental. The truck was not in good mechanical condition. Midway through our trip the engine/break light came on and was making a loud dinging noise. We stopped the driving and tried to call road service. Uhaul was unresponsive. After driving the truck forward and backward the dinging finally stopped and we continued on to finish our trip. We wasted about an hour on hold with U-Haul. The next day I called the office in Mcneil to ask about the charges to my visa and the error in price and was told again to Call U-Haul. So I suppose I will need to sit on hold again for another hour or two before I get this sorted. I would not recommend U-Haul. I suggest that they keep their trucks in better mechanical condition.
