We were arriving about 25 minutes late. The app said we could be up to an hour late. I tried to use the app to pick up the truck but it didn’t work. I went inside the lumber company. The man said their Uhaul system turns off at 4:30pm. I asked how I was supposed pick up my truck. He said, share a truck. I couldn’t find it on the app. Then he said they were closing at 5:00pm. He told me call the Uhaul 800 number. I went out to my SUV my son was driving. The Uhaul agent on the phone helped me redo my complete the reservation. Once we were done. It was after 5pm the lumber company employees left and locked the fences around the business. No one told us anything about renting the truck before leaving the business. I found the key box. We couldn’t see a Uhaul truck just trailer. We saw a photo of where the truck was parked. It wasn’t at the lumberyard. It said it was around back of the business. It wasn’t it was parked behind an auto repair place next door on a concrete slab surrounded by grass and dirt and it was raining. I quickly checked the truck and took photos. I drove the truck out of the grass lot. I noticed the floor mat the truck was muddy. I was the only one who got into the truck on the trip and both side of the mat was muddy. I got to the hwy and my drivers windshield wiper fell apart. I drove to the loading spot over an hour late. When we opened the cargo door the inside of the cargo area was dirty too. No muddy but dirty. We loaded and my brother in law who was there fixed the wiper blade. It was just hanging from a hook on the wiper arm. Once back on the road I didn’t have any more problems with the truck. I am glad my brother in law fixed the wiper because it rained on and off all the way to our destination. I have rented several Uhauls and never had such poor service, a dirty truck or parts fail. I had marked the truck was clean when I checked it out because I didn’t see the muddy mat until I was up in the drivers seat.

Adrian MI did not look inside trailer until I got it home I did have to sweep a little bit of stuff out of the trailer and clean up what looked like dried soda spilled inside trailer. Other than that, this was a great rental truck. The counter help at the Ferguson lumber Company was excellent!!!!

Megan RNotify if truck is unavailable! We originally booked for pickup in W Lafayette. Two days before pickup we tried to move up a day. Only then did we find out there were actually no trucks available for original date anywhere. Had to drive out of our way to get the 1 truck that was available. This would have been a big deal for our 1000 mile move and we had reserved early! Beware if you are renting!

Tim SBecause of poor packing by the moving help company, great lakes, I was not able to turn the truck on time. Their work was so terrible that I had several pieces of valuable furniture damaged. Some one needs to make due on the monetary damage to my furniture!!!
greg gWhat is the point of having a reservation system if u-haul does not have the capability of knowing where their equipment will be. I had to drive about an hour to get a trailer that I had reserved weeks ahead of time. Our world has the technology to be able to keep reasonable track of their equipment. Uhaul’s own policy of calling by 6 pm the night before to check on my equipment rental failed because they didn’t follow their own policy. On top of that they wouldn’t do anything about a discount because their policy didn’t work. Their response was even worse. They basically said their policy doesn’t work sometimes and we can’t give a discount. So basically they don’t even care about following their own policy which is terrible customer service.
Nicholas OI was told to pick up my deposit at this location. They refused to refund my deposit. They were very rude about out and offered no help. I still have not received my deposit back. I’m not happy at all
Rhonda BWe were forced to pick up at this location. The same vehicle was located within five minutes of the house we were needing the truck for. We should have been given a discount for picking up at a location an hour out of way. The 24/7 pickup did not work very well. It took more than 30 minutes to get the code for the lock on the back of the truck. Most of the 30 minutes was wasted sitting on hold waiting for a uhaul rep to answer the phone.

Steve GThey had no idea how to do the paperwork and had to call the owner to get walked through it. My boyfriend had to get on the phone with the owner to help the worker. They also didn’t have any idea we were coming and had to get the truck ready. All of this after the person I spoke with on the phone screwed up my whole order. Never again

ADA JWhen I called originally to the meter's Burger Uhaul provider, they said they did not have a truck available. However when I called the Terre Haute location they said that they did. So I would say they need maybe a little bit more training on how to view the schedule of customers because they were not aware that they had one available and made it a little bit difficult for me. But thankfully Terre Haute was able to validate they did in fact have one so I am overall happy with the turnout
