Friendly staff and easy to use and return the equipment

gail hWe ordered a truck but the day before we were told that location couldn't honor our reservation. We were told to go to another location and we were told we could pick it up after hours. We were told to drive to the location (and the system would recognize we were there), open the app, select pick up my truck and get the combination to the lock box to get our truck. However, the whole system must have been down because instead of giving us the info we needed, it directed us to call a # which we did. However, when we did we were given a message saying the wait was over 60 min for an operator. I called the main # asking for a direct local # or any number that could help us and I was told I had no other options. The next day the facility told me they do have a # they answer after hours but I had no way of getting it. Clearly, the poor training of staff created a headache for us. As a result, we went home and returned the next day when the facility opened. These unfortunate missteps by UHaul foreshadowed additional more troubling problems we encountered at the South Bend U Haul facility on Western Ave. I was assigned a drop off and storage unit location there. I didn't select it. However, had I researched it I would have found that it was one of the lowest rated U Haul facilities in existence as evidenced by their online reviews. Last night I was given a review link to review the storage facility which I did so I won't repeat myself here. However, I encourage you to check it out for the alarming details which I would hope you would agree were totally unacceptable. The bright spots were the movers powered by U Haul both in jAppleton and Indianna and the attendant at the U Haul South Bend Indiana Facility on Western St. DARNISHA who I met with Sunday (unlike the person working the prior day which caused a series of problems for us). As I indicated, the concerns with the South Bend facility seem to be pervasive. I would expect to get a second month free storage for all of the missteps and misinformation that occured. I hope to hear from someone who tries to right these wrongs.

Joseph RThe retail location was fine. The trailer itself allowed rainwater to get inside the storage area and soak the floor, potentially damaging anything that you would haul in it in wet weather. That is unacceptable.
KENNETH SI wasnt able to upload any photos, when we had picked up the truck and trailer the man stood behind the truck and didnt move until we got out and had to ask him to move so we wouldnt run him over, there was debris everywhere inside and out, im 6 months pregnant and fell over a ladder that was behind the truck while attempting to take a photo of the truck plates. The inside was like a fire hazard, or a hoarders nest. Barely any walking room and if there is you have to mindful of where you step be cause there is stuff EVERYWHERE. I didnt even get paperwork, man told us not to worry about anything but we have had so many problems. Overall given everything that happened at this location we left an hour-2 hours after what was supposed to be a simple pick up.

Jane CYour self checkout system is a pain to use as was the Rental checking that required noy only my personal information (Which is Understandable) but information on a second & third individual that have nothing to do with renting your equipment.
RICHARD SBottom right light on back of trailer was inop. Location is very tight to get in and out of. Managed to get trailer out, but another trailer was blocking us from returning it so had to leave it parked out of the way.

ROBERT BI had someone call and give them payment information because they were not going to be there and we had drove 3.5 hours. The person who was working had no clue what was going on, I didnt have the funding to cover it and then someone else there covered it. They need to COMMUNICATE with the other people that will be working that day. Now I have to hope that the person not intending to pay will be reimbursed by the person that had called and given them the information and set everything up the day before. Very disgusted and not like moving wasn't hard enough.

GARY SThe trailer did the job it was just worrisome. I was expecting the trailer to have the same locking mechanism as the open trailers but it was the tow and go which I wasn’t a fan of. We had to go to Lacrosse to take some stuff to one of the kids and we thought the trailer was going to come off.
