The lock to the storage bay was malfunctioning and poorly maintained. This made access to the key very difficult. I had to go home to get tools to open it and close it after returning the rental.
Fernando LBecause there was no office I could not get help except on the phone. It took a very long time to get into the truck. The truck reeked of cigarettes.
Mohan AEarly reservations and problem with getting checked in. People with whom I have spoken with and communicated via chat have been polite, responsive, and really care. i think that during work hours are better to checkin when it is in a parking not near a UHaul office.
RENEE DIt would have been helpful to know that there would be a lot of verification steps to start the rental. I would have arrived earlier so that I could start the rental on time. Customers should be aware that they will need 10-15 min to complete the activation steps at start of rental.
Christopher WHow about a sign ? I had to search to find the drop off. The women who I chatted with was extremely helpful and accomdating.

ALYSSA AVery convenient location (for me). Once I viewed the video, getting the van was easy. Return was simple as well. Not sure it it would help to have a designated space or spaces for your vans and trucks since there were a lot of workers on the day of pickup and return and some of them had white vans.
Bruce RThe customer representative I worked with from that location the morning of pick-up was AMAZING! He was available early and checked in with me via phone first thing in the morning. He offered to drive the truck to my apartment building because it was so close. He parked it in one spot, and when I told him I wasn't sure if he could park there, he parked in a very tricky spot like it was easy. He should get employee of the month (or year!).

William HUnclear where the keys were located. The keys were located in bushes that were wet from the rain and the lock itself was defective and worn off. Terrible.
Abdiel STerrible news and overall bad news regarding this. The process to legitimize a person who has already reserved a vehicle is ridiculous and not seamless at all. And the necessity to verify contact as well as work authorization etc is ridiculous as well. Wasted much time.

JOHANNA NThe process on the app is not that streamlined, unfortunately. In the winter this place is extremely windy, the signing had fallen to the floor and the lockboxes were not easy to find. Tip: they are located on the corner of the parking lot. The process took some troubleshooting. Only plus is that finally there are some trucks you can get in NW DC.

molly mThe only trouble was that the Uhaul app went into a spin mode when trying to confirm my location at the rental site. I waited for about 5 minutes while the app spinned, then contacted customer support via chat. Their advice was to switch to the Uhaul.com website. The good news is that all my entered info was still there, so I didn't have to enter it again. But it definitely added to the time I stood out in a cold and exposed parking lot waiting for verification. The other issue was that my verification phone call was a pain. My contact happened to be in the bathroom when the call came through, so he did not answer the first call. Then I could not put his number in again, so had to contact him, get a second number for him and make sure he would answer that. Then I had to submit the new number and wait again for the verification. Truly inconvenient. My overall check-in time before I got into the vehicle was over 30 minutes, definitely a lot longer than I expected (especially in the cold in an exposed parking lot!). Otherwise, the rental was good and good value for the money.
