My return was scheduled for 2/04 @ 2:40 PM. When I attempted to make contact to arrange for the drop off I always got a recording. There was never a response to any of my messages. I eventually dropped the truck off at 3:50 PM (or 4:10PM) on 2/04. The keys were dropped in the drop box since there had been no communication and I wasn’t going to be responsible for them. We had been dealing with difficult subzero temperatures and ice to get things completed. Still no communication with additional charges was applied to the card for an extra day and cleaning. An explanation of what was needing to be cleaned and why an additional day charge would have shown basic customer service. This was a huge contrast to the way the personnel at the Clinton, MA location had addressed anything to do with the rental. I would not consider using the U Rental location in Detroit Lakes, MN again.

This was the 3rd uhaul trailer we've rented that we have flat tired while pulling. We were also asked to return the trailer to a different location than we reserved for.The location would have been 170 miles out of our way. There was no reason for the change.

Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. I originally booked a manned location I had used before. Was told I was now to pick up at remote unmanned location. Signage and customer instructions were extremely poor there. (Forced to load and re-enter information in an APP when already done on-line) Ended up talking to three different people on the phone to get keys for truck. Wasted more than 1/2 hour of my time.

The location and personnel were really helpful. I received a call and a representative was so nice and answered all of my questions. The check in process was really easy. All we had to do was leave the truck and put the key in drop off box. No problem.

Everything was good except the checkout process online. I had trouble uploading pictures and getting kicked off of the website and get me started. Where I was supposed to park the truck was very muddy. Other than that everything was good. Thank you!

Get your mobile application software fixed. It timed out twice. Never really worked. Customer service was very very unresponsive. 40 minute wait?

I called twice, and my husband called again before we left for drop off, to make sure we could drop off on HiWay 59 in Detroit Lakes. When we got there we were told we couldn’t leave it there. After about half an hour, we were told we had to go to Hiway 10 in DL. There was no visible code to scan and we spent almost another half hour to be told by a nice person on the phone, that we could just leave the keys without going thru the hassles.

The vehicle should of never been rented but was forced to rent from out of fargo to be able to rent for multiple days even though fargo had trucks every day. Of all the moves with uhaul this was the worst exp.

Operator went above & beyond to get me a 26’ rental; however my experience earlier with U-Haul was very disappointing. I was supposed to pick up my 26’ rental at West Fargo at 7am, only to be told they had no such truck, despite my reservation weeks in advance. I had to drive 1 hour away hours later to get the truck at Detroit Lakes. Then I ended up having to buy $100 of blankets fro my mover, cuz my rental didn’t have the blankets or follies I had ordered.

Using the phone pick up and return was a real pain in the ... Especially when returning and trying to get a dash picture at night with the odometer light causing a blurry almost unreadable picture to send. Sooo frustrating! Otherwise ok.

There was no one there to check in i was unfamiliar with the way it was set up could not get to a live agent to help me check in there were customers waiting to pick the vehicle up. I did not get my one way free storage rental as they were not a participating drop off site. Pa. The female person I spoke to who was an agent in Fargo for the incoming customers picking up the truck was rude, threatening to charge me$300 late fee. I was charged a late fee of a day due to not being able to check in but i disputed it as not being able to check in online due to requested new password was denied had to wait for a long period of time to reach a live person. I wouldn't have been late if i could have gotten through with the check in. But had to get live agent to send me a code to access check in.I was refunded the charge. So would be great with more of an education on the issues that arise with check in and less time to reach a live agent.

You need to improve the terminology on your app! When I went to pick up my truck, I opened my order on the app and could find ONLY three options: "cancel my reservation", "change my reservation", or "convert to truck share". NOTHING said "start my check-in" from the order page. I wasted 20 minutes trying to find help to explain what I was supposed to do. The option should say "start my checkin". You could save lots of annoyance!

Internet never worked, checking in and out; we were in the wrong location to scan the barcode but we were next to and inside the lips. We had to call them both times to check in and when we returned truck.

The manager of the Detroit Lakes office was extremely helpful. The U-haul app/website, however, was totally useless and very frustrating. It never did work even after changing passwords. If it wasn't for the manager's help we would not have been able to pick up the truck.
