BRYAN NStaff was friendly and helpful and equipment was clean ... BUT ... I had reserved an 'Appliance Dolly' and it was not/not available. This made moving appliances a lot more difficult. // When we did the test of the lights, I was told there was a problem with the left taillight and that they would address the issue when I returned the equipment (it was a one-day rental). // As I pulled out, my pick-up told me that there was an issue with the right brake/turn-signal. // Once at moving location, my grandson watched the lights ... the right brake/turn-signal was out ... the left taillight was out ... the marker lights on the ramp was out ... the light over the license plate was out.

PAMELA PU boxes were supposed to be preloaded on a trailer and hooked up to two trucks that I rented and none of that was done when I got there and nobody knew anything. After raising hell with everybody, we finally got the assistant manager to show up and work on It! we had to locate our own U boxes on the lot, which was exhausting for me as a older woman in less than perfect health in wind and sun for at least an hour and a half wait.. iIn the meantime, I had expenses for people who are being paid to sit around and wait with nothing to do, some in Ft Wayne and some in Kendallville, the final destination. Very disappointed. I expected better service since I called a couple of times and spoke to individuals to validate that everything would be done upon me arriving as my help might not have been able to do anything. I also visited your establishment two weeks prior to our picking up the U boxes and was assured by staff that there would not be any problem whatsoever! I was assured that, even though our business was being conducted on Saturday, that extra staff was available and your organization was large enough to handle my requests. I also ordered a handtruck and the lady in the office just flippantly said it’s not available and didn’t express any concern or apology. I texted your manager while on your grounds and he apologized and said that unfortunately it do was an oversight on your part and y’all misread my request, but it was not due to lack of communication on my part! I do expect some renumeration other than just apologies. Sadly, this is not the first negative experience I have had with Uhaul in the last year. thank you.

LATACIA C | Overall ExperienceI reserved for a Truck and Tow dolly package online. When a hot to the location to pick up my reservation I was told by the manager, Melvin, that they don't do that combo. He further went on to state that it required a large deposit. When asked what it was he told me not to worry about it like I couldn't afford the deposit. So again I asked how much and was told between $500-$1000, which is insane. He further went on to ask another employee how much a deposit for that combo is and that employee stated $400. To make a long story short, I was able to get my reservation for the simple fact that I reserved online, but if that is in fact the deposit policy for that combo it needs to be stated online or when you call to 1-800# because obviously this location is the only one running this scam on ppl or either deny business.

HERMAN HLast weekend was a very busy weekend for this location. There was a issue with getting my van. But the GM was very helpful and got me in 10' truck within minutes.

The fuel that was listed on the paper wasn't correct so I put the the fuel back were it was upon me getting the rental. And I requested a call back from the store manger and no one every called back.. terrible customer service.and the lady stated I was supposed to get an txt messages about the mileage I told her the only txt I got was when I was in office filling out the paper work .I feel cheated and Rob and disrespected by the employee.just listen to phone conversation

TIMOTHY SThey switched a new truck on me and gave me a different really filthy beat up truck because it had a half a tank of fuel. The truck that supposedly has “ gentle ride “ had the worst ride ever and all we did was bounce around for the whole trip which resulted in damaged goods in the back. I would never again rent a U-Haul and I would spend the extra money for Penske or enterprise period that guarantee customer satisfaction. The truck was absolutely disgusting and filthy and 5 miles into drive it went from half a tank to a quarter of a tank!!!! The old shell game ! Good job U-Haul .

When he got to the truck he said why did u do this I said we didn't it looked like that when we took he said u didn't take no picture of it I said never thought I had to take pictures of the inside needless to say we wouldn't have waited a hour to be told me we're going to get charged for a mess someone else made he charged me 25 for the mess someone else did and a mess they didn't clean up cause they were lazy and didn't clean it before we got the truck I won't be back to this location

Ed MSince I rented a storage unit from UHaul my rate every 6 months with no betterment of equipment. The dollies wheel barely rolled, the secured doors rarely worked, stranger had easy access to the building with an security card. The store did not inform me they change the access hour to reflect the store hours. The information on your website is very misleading.

DISASTER SMy reservation got cancelled on U-Haul end not one notification even Customer Services wasn’t even no good with helping beside making another reservations which was further out than my original location. Overall at this location was very good, good customer service. The rental truck I had the driver seat was very worn out that it was low and I could barely see the road and the steering wheel was jacked up you would think you was drinking and driving. Lol

VINCENT EWas charged twice for an amount to look the same as my online order. I ordered only a tow dolly and nothing else. Called them asking why I was charged for things I did not buy. And was notified by customer service that I was to be refunded had a pending refund for straps mirrors and a bunch of other things I did not buy and now I’m being forced to claim this as a fraud charge because the refund is no longer pending. When I first arrived at this location with proof of my online purchase they tried telling me that my balance was 209 then a day later this. I am furious with my experience as a military veteran that has always trusted Uhual for 12 years.

One of the two employees started they didn't have access to deal with any storage units when they have over 800, even though he's been employed there for over 2 months. They said there was no storage lots for the size I had reserved. They required more phone numbers than other locations and more than mandatory on the U-haul's booking site. Worst customer service I've delt with in over a decade. 10/10 would not recommend this U-haul location. Due to employees incompetence the owner forced them to work overtime to rectify poor customer service.

Sierra S | Overall ExperienceDuring the period of storage there was an extended lighting issue in the back hall where my unit was located. While it did make it difficult to see without a flashlight on several occasions, the manager explained the difficulty they were having with getting it fixed. Sounded like it was outside of his control, at least to some degree. I can't hold that against them. The manager (and the staff) have always been communicative, courteous, and helpful when I've needed them.
TRACIE P | Overall ExperienceOverall it was okay booking the unit. It’s always a line and you always have to stand and wait. They’ll hound you about rent but once you pay it. You’ll have to ask them to take the lock off. The manager made a comment that if I paid my rent on time it wouldn’t have a lock. Considering I pay late fees included. Online says 24 hours access. However when you go you cannot get in past 7:30p and the managers reason is “the area” they are in is why it’s not 24 hours. Which is why I moved my stuff to another storage. So that’s contradicting and you still have to pay the full price for the unit. Overall everyone else was okay. They need air in those areas or a fan. It’s 95 degrees outside and inside. No I’d never rent another unit with uhaul. Especially with this management there. I switched to a different one that’s bigger and cheaper and I still get the same thing as I got with uhaul.

The staff were nice and walked me through the storage. We were given keys to truck and had to figure it out. I picked up a load from Bellaire Rd and returned to the store. There was a little less than 1/4 tank of gas. I put $20 in it just to feel safe. Trip was so short the hand didn't move down. Trip made and items in storage. It was very busy at the time and they seemed short staffed too.

He was aggressive and very disrespectful. An employee by the name of Tremaine Lee was in attendance while Mr. Boseman hot out of control. After I told him his staff wasn’t trained good enough no cards on site and I wasn’t properly informed about my unit or the access. I addressed that and he got upset. I will not use this facility nor will I refer anybody to use this facility. The level of unprofessionalism that was reached a man trying to handle a woman. Come on now that’s disrespectful because I was in the right. He makes the company look bad

I had movers coming and luckily they let me know the unit number so they could work on unloading while I signed documents. My movers were more apologetic than the location was for how long things were taking. People who worked there were friendly and the place we kept up well, only pros I saw.

If there was any time you couldn’t pay or was late they gave no grace period and would lock you out of your unit with no notice. And it took a act of congress to get there lock taken off even if you were caught up on payments. Yes I will use the trucks but I will not use the storage again.

The security system does not work well and has system issues regularly. I was offered a free month for my inconvenience, but I would not store here again. SANDRA S | First ImpressionsVery poor customer service from office staff. No one was available at the site, had to drive to another site to confirm my reservation. Staff member didn’t want to honor my previously signed contract regarding my free month of storage. He then lied to me telling me Uhaul changed the offer, not knowing that I had already had a contract number. Once I showed him my email from Uhaul, he said he would give me the free month, but acted as if he had a problem with it. The unit I reserved was for a 10x20, upon entering the storage site, the unit he gave me definitely did not look like a 10x20. I was told storage access was until 7pm, so I left to pack my belongings onto my Uhaul truck that I rented from another location. When I returned at the storage site at 4:30pm, the doors were locked and there were 5 other Uhaul customers waiting and looking for site manager. I patiently waited but when the site manager arrived on the site at 4:50pm, he said the site closed at 5pm because it was Thursday. No one told me this beforehand. He said he was only going to open the door for a customer who had about 3 items to put in her unit. He was rude so I just took my lock off my unit and rented storage from another company. I have always been a Uhaul customer and I plan to continue renting trucks, but I will NEVER rent from the Gordon Hwy location again.
