Quick service unhooking the trailer and getting me on my way.
BRIAN JThe GM is BEYOND rude. She called me rudely 36 hours after I returned the rental to tell me that I left my lock on the rental. No big deal, other than the fact that she was very rude and had a bad attitude from the drop. I have gotten close to half a dozen rentals from this location in the past 6 months and I will not be going back. Insane that someone put that person in charge and the only thing she is good at is having a bad attitude. Unreal experience even after I told her I would be there as fast as possible to fix my error. She claimed she couldn't rent out the trailer with the lock when there were two other trailers of that size in the lot. Crazy rude and unprofessional. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

Changed location of where I was to pick up first - Then the published price for renting is by day which you would think is a 24 hour period, then they ask when we are expected to use the equipment - we then give an estimate which in my case was 18 hours well that was my day according to Uhaul personnel, which is not right - I was unable to make the 18 hours due to circumstances out of my control and return the equipment in 19 hours & ten minutes and was charge another whole day - Plus they had already made another reservation on my rental 30 min from the time I was to return therefore was pressured because I was going to be late - 1-Day rental to me means I have 24 hours & if I would have put 24 hours on my estimate it would have been the same price as if I put 18 makes no sense - It would be hard for me to rent from the same location for sure - not a great experience plus it cost me 2 days plus the insurance for 19 hours of useage - along with the pressure even thru I called main Uhaul and informed them I would be little late which seems to not be an issue. Not a good experience

Amber SMake sure rental is properly serviced before putting a customer in a vehicle. Service light was on and the tire pressure was ridiculously low. Unacceptable, especially when necessary tools are on site.
MARK WThe attendant barely showed any interest in providing service. Upon checking out, I was given keys and told to have a nice day. There wasn't any walk around, safety or driving instructions provided. Upon arriving at my house to begin locking, I realized something as off......I was given a different truck than what my paperwork indicated. I wasted an hour on the phone with U-Haul customer service to correct the error.

MIRIAM PLet me say that I have never had a perfect experience at a U Haul location but, the U Haul location at 2797 Pelham Parkway, Pelham, AL 35124 was a 9.98 on a 10 scale obviously only because of a power surge right before I walked in so me and the customer in front had a small wait but the manager did not let that stop her she was able to complete my rental on her phone after about 30 minutes trying to get the system up and running again. I’m new in the area and this was my first experience at this location and it was great I will return here anytime I have future needs. People, don’t let yourself be involved in what I call “part-time” U Haul locations go to the source!

John RThe rep had absolutely no personality. Most unfriendly personality type. I felt like I was an interruption to her day. I was overcharged and when I tried to address the overcharge, I was promised a “call right back” which took several hours. I had to call the national customer service number. When the issue was finally acknowledged, I was told they could not credit my card, I will have to wait for a refund check from the corporate office. Let’s hope that this check is not relatively as long as the immediate call back.

WILLIAM TJust make sure that the vehicles are cleaned thoroughly when people clearly have pets in them, my vehicle was covered in dog hair which as a result got all over my clothes, luckily I don't have a pet allergy. Customer service & ease of renting at the last minute was amazing!! I ended up having to use this location 2 consecutive days, and both days the vehicle I needed for my business was available.
Charles JKendra was the nicest person I’ve ever met at a Uhaul location. I believe she’s a manager and probably deserves a raise. She was excellent and helped me with everything I had questions about. I return my vehicle there without any issues and I also rented a storage room. This lady is a rockstar in my book. Thank you, Kendra for making my day special.

My husband wanted to use yall because the truck was shown to be 20 or 30 dollars. I already had to sell my stuff for extra money yet I had to give most of it to U-Haul. The U-Haul smelled like cigarettes smoke and I had to fill it up as soon as I left U-Haul because the light was on needing gas. So not only did I have to pay $119 I also put $35 dollars in there. I was hoping U-Haul would be better an Penske it wasn’t.
DANIELLE FWe rented a trailer to haul a car. The strap that was to go over the car wheel to secure it to the trailer was broken off. We had to wait 30 minutes for a serviceman to come where we were picking up the car and rig up a strap that would hold the car to the trailer. The size ball needed to hook the trailer to the hitch was listed incorrectly on the web site, so we had to purchase a new one from U-Haul for an additional $32.95!
LENNA P1)Have your employees explain the whole cost of the rental. Don't advertise $19.95 and it costs $75. I went 25 miles by the way! 2)Have an employees walk the customer out and make sure they understand how everything works on a vehicle.
BECKY OI was very disappointed, for the past two rentals I have refilled the tank to where it was at check-out, however when I view my online statement, I notice a gas charge for one to three gallons. I suggest that all vehicles be full when rented out, therefore it will prevent any confusion to the costumer. I also have a problem with the title fee charge that no one could seem to answer. Why would a company charge a title fee to the customer for a vehicle he does not own or is purchasing? I have rented from this location almost every month for the past two years, I'll probably be taking my business elsewhere next month.

Therefore, my furniture didn't get moldy or damaged with fluctuating temperatures and humidity. The one thing I would appreciate is if there were trash bins (at least at the end of the halls or near each exit). We are required to sweep out the units during move-out. However, there is no place for customers to empty their dust pans.

One was my Grandfathers and the barrel has rust all the way through barrel and is useless now. I have not dug into pictures yet. Fearful humidity that rendered 1,000’s of dollars of loss with guns destroyed family photos and documents. I was told humidity, heat, and cold was within safe storage levels. I also found an inch of water on the top of a Rubbermaid storage tub. Either water got in from roof or there was significant humidity to have that much condensation. I stated this to the agent and all he said was “sorry about that” leaving me to deal with this another way.

I challenge anyone to try calling local office I guarantee u will never connect with local staff and the corporation 800 number stated only the local office can help with arrangements

tonja p | Overall ExperienceWhen I got the unit, I purchased one of the U-Haul locks that are sold at the counter. Once I put my belongings in the unit and locked it, the lock broke and broke one of the keys off inside. When I talked to the staff, they stated they could not do anything. When I called them on their bluff, they would not work with my schedule to have their locksmith come out and remove THEIR crappy lock. Thankfully, I was able to get my belongings out after trying for two months to get it off. My engineer friend was able to get the lock off and discovered that the lock was designed to break purposely. I would not recommend this staff or their units, even though the units themselves are nice and convenient. I will choose another facility and my own lock next time.

She checked me into a unit that had a lock on it and the only option I had was to move all of my stuff upstairs into a unit that was way more expensive and then move my stuff back downstairs after a cheaper one opened up. After we asked if those were actually unlocked she said “ I don’t know. Feel free to go check.” And then we told her that we were about to be $90 for a storage unit I didn’t even want and just told her to cancel my subscription, then she stated she’ll “gladly” cancel it in a rude tone. I couldn’t even tell you her name because she never told me and wasn’t wearing a name tag. We also got stuck and couldn’t get out because there were 2 trucks trying to return their rental truck and she was taking forever to check them in. They sat there for at least 20 minutes and they were still sitting there waiting on her when we left. Extremely rude customer service. I will never use or recommend this uhaul location.

It got frustrating quickly.

The girls up front took a situation that was horrible by the UHaul.com AND UHaul call center, and turned it in to a pleasant experience. By a miracle, they were able to find the unit I requested and was extremely helpful. For UHaul having a website and a phone number that is directed to a call center, they are NOT unified with the processes and the procedures of each individual locations. If a location is not able to hold a storage unit, then the option should not be provided on the website. This can cause a very big mess when you have a truck of 26' that needs one of the biggest units and it not be available, causing the customer to pay more for a late fee or another day with the truck to search for another storage unit. When calling the call center they will make promises but not back up the promises with the actual location. So makes the location look inadequate when really it is the overhead call center not verifying with the workers on the ground floor. This location was very nice and was very helpful during this very stressful time.

When we arrived we were told that such a unit was NOT available now nor had it been available when we made the original reservation. Fortunately the manager gave us two smaller units for the small cost so we were able to unload our belongings. There is a problem with the web based reservation system.

James H | Overall ExperienceWhile cleaning out our “climate controlled” storage unit last week, we found the temperature to be hot & uncomfortable. We found a thermostat in the hallway near & within 50 feet +/- our unit and saw that the temperature in the hallways was 83 degrees! Of course, inside of our unit, the temperature was much hotter. We were there for several hours on 3/25/2020. We found the thermostat reading at the beginning of our time there. We called down to the local front desk and explained the temperature problem, as well as the thermostat reading, to a man there. We told him that since our unit was a “climate controlled,” inside unit, our expectation was that the temperature should be much cooler thank 83 degrees. He agreed and told me that he would send someone up “immediately” to check out the thermostat & to make any necessary repairs to it, or the cooling system, if necessary. We told him that in all of our previous visits to our unit during the 3 years that we had been renting it, the temperature had always been much cooler. He again confirmed that 83 degrees was definitely hotter than it should be in your climate controlled building & units. We worked in our unit for many hours, without leaving, after speaking to the man at the desk. No one ever showed up to check the thermostat, & the temperature stayed the same (hot!). Throughout our time there that day, I regularly checked the thermostat and it stayed around 83 degrees. We visited our unit several more times over the following few days until we completed the removal of our stored items. The temperature problem was not corrected up to and including our rent termination date of 4:03/2020. Our primary concern is not with our comfort while inside your supposedly climate controlled spaces, it’s with the integrity of our stored items. Because of the expensive value of the furniture & other items that we needed to store when we made the decision 3 years ago, we choose to pay more for a climate controlled unit to ensure protection of our belongings, all of which belonged to my wife’s deceased mother. While inspecting & removing the furniture items, it was apparent that a couple of items had heat-related damage, which we felt like we were avoiding by choosing & paying for ($199 per month). Of course, we are very unhappy about the damage, & are very dissatisfied with the product that we received from uHaul, who we thought we could trust with these valuable items.
