They were supposed to refund my deposit. I had gone over by 2 miles on the drive so my deposit would be 97.11 instead of 100$ which was fine. Tell me why they took 97.11 and now they owe me 194.22 and are now telling me it’s in dispute for 3 days. IM SO PISSED 😡

GWENDOLYN PNo one showed us our truck, just sent out to find it in the massive lot. The desk girl didn't explain about refueling the truck, just told us we needed to have it back to the same notch, but there are no notches on the dashboard. So refilling is difficult. Of course, I didn't make it to the right mark and was charged. it's just unfortunate she didn't explain all the numbers below to help decide how much to put in the tank. I wasn't told until after when I complained I wasn't able to see where the line would be, so I filled it blindly.
MEGAN TI get to the Benton Harbor facility at 6:57 - 6:58pm not knowing they close at 7pm because in GR they close at 8pm. So I had to clean this truck and drove through the city of GR, BH and on the highway, at least 100mi with no lights!!! Then I pulled in to drop off the truck and the lights were still on but as I walked around the building to come inside and voice my concerns they had locked the door and turned off the lights in the front and would not come to the door, they just watched me knocking, then the guy went into the back and the lady continued sitting at the desk. I never had to put the key in the drop box and it was not insight as it was on the side of the building where I dropped off the uhaul and completely covered in snow. Another person pulled up to drop off equipment and I had to ask them what to do because the staff ignored me. The other person put the key in the Dropbox for me but If they weren't there, I would have just left the key in the truck. I would like at least $80 back for all of these inconveniences, really $100! This is just ridiculous and I sure did call and file a complaint as soon as I left uhaul last night, I want my money back!

In fact, I had to SEARCH the parking lot while dragging a Utility Dolly thru the snow to find the truck which I was unsuccessful and ultimately had to go back into the store to have an employee point out the truck as well as clear off the snow from the windshield! Having indicated when I was going to pick-up the truck this should have all been handled prior to my arrival!
STANLEY CThe location is clean and the staff was helpful, however you can tell it's just a job, so maybe give them a raise to make it worth their while to be at their jobs? Getting the rental van and returning it went smoothly which I greatly appreciate.

ANDREW DI have rented two 26 foot trucks and several trailers from this location during the past year and moving south. Carol is the manager and she is exceptionally good at her job! She is professional and courteous and most important knows everything about the business. I would highly recommend this location for their exceptional and outstanding work.

JOHN ZMy experience with U-Haul was terrible. The truck was filthy—mud all over the floors, McDonald’s bags, and there were what appeared to be urine bottles left in the passenger door. This is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of basic cleaning and care. I would not recommend based on this experience.

YAZEED AIt is a bit hard to get a truck and trailer around the place. Very tight and crowded quarters. However, service is excellent and usually has what I need same day.

MICHELLE BI wouldn’t not recommend to anybody. The facility never answer the phone to start anytime I’ve called I have to get transferred to the central hub and they have to contact the store in order to get an answer. Me and my kids things were in storage I was told and left a voicemail from the actual store manager that my things has to be moved out by 12/03 was told it was an error, went to the physical showed proof and the actual voicemail. Me and my kids things were sold in an auction instead we literally lost everything we had on 12/02 because of Uhaul storage.

MARYBETH PI was originally supposed to pickup equipment in Decatur Michigan but was informed the day before pickup that I now had to go to Benton Harbor which was 30 miles further away.
DAVID BI have driven uhaul trucks dozens of times and this is the worst one I've ever driven. Heat in the cab did not work. Truck sputtered and would barely accelerate whether it was loaded up or not. Truck would not get above 65mph (I don't think this is a speed governor because another 15' truck passed us like we were standing still on the highway.) Truck burnt through $70 in gas for an 80 mile trip.

STEPHEN BEverything is in Spanish horrible service no willingness to work with customers and to many changes from month to month auction fees from 3months to 2 months just feel like you guys want to auction off people stuff..Then I was told that I received discounts and removal of some fees to find out that couldn’t of been true because I ended up spending the same amount for the next 2 months so I feel as though your employees pocketed some cash..At the end of the day thanks for the use of your storage..Bought my own storage unit..Be blessed

alan e | First ImpressionsRented car carrier, while hauling under 55 mph the drivers side tire(s) locked up and spun us into guardrail then into a ditch….. caused both vehicles to be totaled…. Reported accident to uhaul, luckily I purchased the insurance and uhaul insurance rep called me and said they had taken care of the trailer and follow up on my personal property damages- since that phone call uhaul has tried charging my card over two thousand dollars three times. Totally disappointed with their attempts to charge my credit card without contacting me- it’s not even the uhaul I rented from but the one uhaul sent to pick up the trailer I guess.
MICHAEL TStaff at this location is very friendly and accommodating. My original storage locker was blocked, or access was limited due to U-Haul trailers and trucks blocking access 75% of the time. Staff always stepped to move equipment, but what a waste of time. The staff finally moved my rental to another, more accessible locker, but even that was blocked on occasion. I'm not sure if I'd rent here again. Seems like U-Hail sends too much equipment to this Benton Harbor location, which blocks access to those needing to get to their lockers. I need to be in and out...I don't have 30-60 minutes to wait for someone to move equipment.

SUKUMAR JYou need more employees. I employee for 6 customers waiting in line. I had to wait for an hour and then I wanted the employee to go with me to show him there was no damage to the truck and that I filled the tank. He had no time and said just leave it.

Mary FYou had one person working the counter on a Sunday morning. We got there before you opened and were second In line. It took a half hour to get the truck. The line waiting behind us had 8 people waiting. First thing in the morning you need to have at least two people working the counter!

J-Fiah RYour late fees are outrageous. You should tell people how much they are when renting. My rent was do on the 5th. I went in on the 12th and had $22.99 late fee. That's a lot.

Erik H | Overall ExperienceI would have rated this UHaul facility higher, however, things have been going downhill since we first rented a unit over a year ago. The card reader in the back of the building by the ramp wouldn't work and I was given excuses as to why that was. Because it wouldn't work I had to go around to the front of the building and use that card reader. Also the flat cart went missing in the building making it difficult to transport heavier/bigger pieces. The facility was clean, but not well maintained as mentioned previously. The door by the ramp also was difficult to get open from the outside and we had to use force from the inside to get it opened. A lot of the times, both doors would also be left opened and not shut properly.

The previous night I spoke with a customer service representative by phone in the U-Haul call center and in speaking with him I requested if I could extend my truck return time at no charge and he assured me that that would not be a problem. he offered to extend my time to 5 PM with no charge. I clarified with him that there would be no charge and he assured me it was a courtesy and there would be no charge. When I arrived at the store apparently that conversation with the call center had not been noted on my account and the system charge me $54 for the time extension Eric was very helpful and courteous and rectifying the problem for me and helping me to choose a storage unit that suited my needs. He was also helpful and getting the truck maneuvered to where I could unload easily. Eric is a very helpful courteous and respectful customer service representative. Thank you Eric!
