GARRY D | Overall ExperiencePod arrived and was delivered on time to the first location, but when on the phone, the people in office didn't seem to know the details that the drivers know, (such as where and what positions it is okay to place the pods in, ect.) When ordering I had a furniture dolly added to my order, I paid for everything before the due date, and it was not delivered with the pod. I was then told over the phone 'sorry about that, but go to a U-Haul location in person to pick one up'. There was only one location in my city, so I went there, and they *didn't have any in stock*. Eventually, they were able to locate one for me that was bundled with one of their trucks, but the truck was broken down, so they signed that dolly out to me. This whole process did take about an extra 2 hours out of my loading time that day. They did end up refunding the delivery charge for the dolly I ended up having to pick up, luckily, the situation was just inconvenient. Forewarning; they will also call you first thing in the morning at 7am sharp, if you're not already awake. To 'schedule' your deliveries (which you already scheduled online presumably), which is not really scheduling because you have no say in the matter, they're more just telling you what time slot you're in. Not sure why they do this, when they will not call you with delay updates or anything else. Pick up went smoothly without problems, but then the cold storm in the SE hit, which I'm assuming effected a lot of the routes for delivery. My drive across country took 22 hours by car, but the delivery of my pod was scheduled to take 10 more DAYS (or OVER 200 hours longer than my own drive!) And it was *still* delivered a day late. I understand it takes time to process these things, the ice can be bad if you're not careful, and the drivers go on routes to deliver a number of pods all across the country, not just mine. But I still feel like 10 days, delivered a day late, AND absolutely NO communication from the driver's company in regards to these delays, is absurd. At least communicate these issues with the customers that are paying your company literal thousands of dollars to transport their belongings. I marked my pod as goods arrived safely, however I do have to comment that there was so much wood debris in the pod that it seems the pods are not repaired properly between shipments. I packed mine as tight as I could make it so things wouldn't jostle around, and it appears that the pods are handled so recklessly that things are *still* thrown out of place despite tight packing. I had holes punctured in *heavy duty* bins from things being thrown around! I did use bubble wrap on anything and everything I found valuable or that could not be replaced or repaired, so luckily nothing truly important was damaged, but this is just a warning to people who have more valuable stuff.. You may want to invest in their 'insurance' if you do. Anything with loose legs or hanging edges will probably break, anything with unscrewable legs (how???) will break off. And furniture may chip if not covered. But hey, at least I didn't have to drive the truck myself. Hope this helps.

MYRON JWhen the container arrived at my home, the door had a large hole in it. Almost as if a fork lift arm pushed into it. I was a bit disappointed that no one with U-haul said anything to us about it. Fortunately nothing inside was damaged. I would have preferred that whomever hit it would have reported it and let us know vs me finding it when it was dropped off on my driveway.

TIFFANY DWhen I first contacted Uhaul to order the shipping containers, I carefully and specifically told the rep everything I needed to the representative and asked for all the pricing. I did this so I did not have any mix-ups or new costs jumping out after the fact. When they did not mention a second delivery charge for the drop-off to the new address, I even asked, "Oh, is the cost to drop off the container included in the total cost?" Later, after my items were picked up, I was told my order did not include delivery to my home. The rep said there would be an extra charge to delivery it to my home, and would be later than the 10 days as promised. On top of all that, they were not processing the payments in a timely manner then contacting me about it. They had my card on file and someone just didn't process the payment for some reason. It was totally an internal matter that required no intervention from me to correct. After agreeing to pay the new fee (which they refused to waive after this bait-and-switch tactic while having possession of my stuff) and reminding them it was supposed to be 10 days, the reps got my crate on site to be unloaded in a timely manner. The items within the container were secured in such a way, that the only way for them to become unmoored was if pieces of furniture were launched violently upwards then slammed backed down. I had dents, dings, and a broken TV which is significant damage given that all the lines were still taut.
Andrew EThe location of Southwest was perfect. The employees were perfect. Dallas was perfect so is the other manager on duty. However, the trailer was not cleaning. Also it started raining in Mississippi and did not stop until I got to New Mexico and unfortunately, my stuff was extremely wet when I got it out of the truck being at Southern California. I was able to leave it out in the sun and dry out. When I return the truck back to the local U-Haul store here in Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles I reported to the Porter that it was wet and he wrote it down in the computer that the truck was leaking water.

DICK BOur truck had roaches in it and after I PAID for the rental to drive a total of 27 miles it cost me more for mileage and I had to put gas in it… that’s a rip off it should be one or the other. Plus there was a roach bomb and roaches…. Never again
