I had a hitch installed at this location and the service was absolutely amazing. After making the appointment through the Central U-Haul. I had to get the itched installed really quick because I was leaving Winnipeg in 2 days. The person at the central office searched all location in Winnipeg and find a location with the next day appointment available. Within ten minutes of making the appointment with the central office, the hitch installer, Lovepreet, from the Dufferin Ave U-Haul location called me to confirm the appointment. He said all the parts are ready for the installation for the next morning installation and I just had to show up. When I showed up the next morning for my appointment, I asked Lovepreet to be careful with my van because it is band new, he said he will treat the van like it is his own, and he did. He explained everything he was going to do and he did a great job installing the hitch. After the installation he went over the bill and explained the warranty. Later I found out that Lovepreet had gone to another branch of U-Haul before coming to work to get the parts for my work! Wow, you never get service like this in Canada anymore! I would highly recommend this branch.

We have been with Uhaul 19 years since our business starts. Recently having a difficultty with trailer 6 X 12 rentals. We needs the trailer rental days from 4-7 days because we are out for a trade shows out of provinces needs the times to packed, driving, sleeping back and forth from point A to point B then point B to point A. Even we booked 6 months ahead, always get a call from Uhaul Center saying that no trailer available for so and so required days of booking? Even being negotiated to cut of 1 or 2 requested rental days? Very disappointed with that kinds of service, We are 19 years or more always loyalty with you call, talk to many Uhaul store managers, they are aware of these but have no control of it, all rental go through Uhaul call center. Please help us out, thanks in advance and much appreciated. Minh 204-510-5663 P/S: When we booked for any trucks or Trailers to want a silid confirmation when the days we booked for. We always booked a month aheads, We can not accept the confirmation a day or 2 response. Every business shows we go, have to plans aheads, expenses, you can name it, purchase merchandise, shows rentals, insurance, employees, hotels,makes sales. Not like a week or 2 days to have a call from Uhaul saying that oh, due to month ends do don’t have the Trailor 6 X 12 you earlier booked for, we have a down sized or trailor boxes? That’s never can happen right! Thanks for listening to my trust to Uhaul as my favorite business partners.

I found them really easy to work with, they were very accomoddating and I didn't have issues accessing my unit even once. It was always clean in the facility and I would definately store things here again. I did find, that the overhead doors never seemed to be functioning correctly and were often wide open which I thought created a substantial security issue. That being said, I did not have any issues with my locker being accessed.

Scariest location in Winnipeg. What a terrible spot for 24 hour drop off. I would have thought a 24 hour location would be in a safe neighbourhood or have a fence or gate around it. Police everywhere! People yelling! Very unsafe! How are out of towners supposed to know not to drop off late at night there?

Check engine light keeps coming on. The policy should change so that during busy times (first of the month) people are not being charged the Same daily rate while trucks are only rented out for 6hours

The truck I rented was almost out of gas, so I had to put $60 in just to get started, which was super inconvenient when you're moving and only have the truck for a few hours. Then I had to spend another $20 to get it to the quarter tank line before returning it.

when i rented this trailer my drop off location was king edward uhaul in winnipeg. i took the trailer there and was told it was supposed to go to another location accross the city. I speciffically asked for the location near my home for convenience. The uhaul person at the king edward location wouldnt change the drop off location for mr. He "didnt have room" and i was told i had to take it accross town. I am NOT a uhaul employee so I really dont care to move equipment around for uhaul convenience. Im the frigging customer!!! I dropped it at the new inconvenient location as I had travelled 17 hours accross the country with the damn thing. The uhaul representitive at the dufferin location was fine.I doubt i would use uhaul again...less sress to buy my own trailer.

Have employees work a little later or come in early when it is busy so that the trucks are full of gas. Also, if you are going to offer a credit to a customer so that they can fill the gas up for you then compensate them for the inconvenience. Moving is a very laborious, tiring task without having to fill up with gas twice, once to be able to even get to where you have to be and then once to ensure that the tank is back up to the level it is supposed to beat. I was offered a 50$ credit if I filled the tank to the 1/4 mark. It was at the 1/16 mark when I got it. I put 20$ in just to get around and then after the move I calculated what the cost would be to fill the tank to a quarter in order to get the $50 credit I was offered and found that it would cost me a few dollars over $50 on top of the $20 I put in to do so. So not only would I have done your job but I also would have payed more to do you a favour. I did not fill it to a quarter but did not like having to fill up twice due to the endless number of other things I had to do. My question to the attendant should have been whether the credit was intended as a form of compensation or not. If so then why not provide a credit that takes the Kim’s expected to be driven combined with the a little above the current gas price into account.. and if it is not a form of compensation then at least be a little more upfront about it once you are told the number of Kms that are expected to be driven. You guys have provided compensation in the past when I had a flat tire with ur trailer or another person brought the truck back late, making me wait and in one instance, the attendant took the keys from me and said it’s ok your card was charged already you can just go home only for me to find that and additional 20$ charge that they could not explain had been added to my bill. This got reversed. These instances were at various uhauls around the city not just your location. Most of those I did not even ask for either, except the last one.

See above regarding charges to credit card. Also, the girl who was working was very tiny, and because of an injury, my husband could not lift the trailer off the hack at drop off. There was no one there that could help so my husband, with a bad back, had to help her lift the trailer off the hitch, which caused him a lot of pain.

I made a reservation for a truck at a specific location that was close to my home. I arrived at the designated pick up spot on time where I was not notified that the truck was there, although the keys were not. The only other truck that was available was at a location on the other side of the city. Aside from the extra mileage, I had to incur driving the truck from the opposite side of the city to my move location and back it delayed, our move by an hour. Moving days are often very busy with a lot of working parts. For example, the arrival of hired hands, designated times for reserved elevators, and parking spots in loading zones. This delay set us back an hour, which may not seem like a big deal. But when every aspect of the move has a designated timeframe, It’s crucial that everything falls into place according to plan. My suggestion would be to ensure that everything is in order on your end as much as we do our very best to create order on ours.

The vehicle I used had a tire pressure check notice on, and the person working said the tires had recently been changed which would be the reason for it showing. The person doing service on the vehicle should reset any service checks so the customer does not see something that is irrelevant. Ended up adding onto my time spent with the vehicle.

When I got there I told your employee I needed the truck for an extra 1.5 hours and I was told I had to pay an extra $10 for a bigger truck. This was disappointing as I did not need a bigger truck. They are charging fees they are not entitled to. When I go there I usually get rude staff. I would like to know if theres a better way to pay storage. I am senior with mobility limitations. Especially in winter. And I have been very ill this year. Accord ing to the personal property Act of mb you cant double lock my personal belongings. You are in contradiction of the Law . I have contacted the govt office of Consumer Protection. We can deal with them and Court if necessary or you can deal with me. Move out ? I did not move out ! Did they illegally sell my belongings ?

It was my first time renting a U-Haul truck and storage locker. The staff was very gracious in answering all my questions both on the phone and in person when we rented the truck and returned it and emptied the contents into my locker. The rates are better than other comparisons and for someone requiring long-term storage this was a key point in choosing U-Haul . Thanks for everything

The staff member was super professional and efficient. My only complain is that the flooring in the UHaul storage unit building is awful. Super bumpy. Felt like going over cobblestones with the flat trolleys. Lost a couple of items off the trolley because of the super bumpy hallway. Broke a couple of things.

Definitely not using U-Haul anymore. I paid 200 a month to storage my things since February and when I moved out I found mice and not just that the mice eat my couches and had to throw them out, along with other things that were full of mice feces. Not nice could’ve paid cheaper at Dino’s at least they advise you about the mice. Storage hours are advertised 24/7 but they are not, only until 10pm I could go on and on. I will use u-hauls trucks in the future but I am done using U-Haul storage you guys need to step your game up when it comes to providing rents of storages that have living mice in there. Not healthy at all, someone could call the health department, mice and their feces are really a threat to people’s health. Let’s hope I didn’t bring none of them critters to my new home otherwise I’d be posting a public review.

One I canceled my storage a long time ago when they kept changing my one way truck rental. Then my truck rental was screwed up, knowing full well I was going one day, then they over charged me. The truck brakes were horrible and I did report it. The truck was a huge dirty mess both back and in the cab. There was food and drinks spilled all over. Then they overcharged me. Pathetic service

Modern,clean facility but poorly run by incompetents!Absolutely no concern for customer satisfaction and support staff rude and insolent.Assigned wrong locker at move in necessitating 2 extra hours of labour to remove belongings and repack correct locker!Never received locker key…attempts to determine status of lock per Amandeep 3/7 prior to move out fruitless.She had promised to check locker and call me if locksmith needed but didn’t.Luckily,I had foresight to ask movers to bring lock cutters with them.After 45 minutes,the crew was able to break open the lock,albeit with mild ,unavoidable cosmetic damage to the flange.The damage would not have occurred and I would not have had to pay the movers almost an extra hour of labour if Amandeep had checked the lock as promised,allowing me to pre-emptively arrange for a locksmith to open the locker!To add insult to injury,I received a very insolent call from ?Amandeep’s husband yesterday demanding that I pay $25.00 for damage to the ratchet!In all my years,I have never been spoken to so rudely.This U-haul will need a complete change in management before i could ever recommend it to anyone. My storage alarm kept going off. It wasn’t rectified fast enough for me. Had to go there 6 times and heard it 6 times. My ears are sensitive so had to embrace it every time. My storage room was big and there was no light in there. I had to use my phone flash light to go look for something. I did tell staff but nothing was done.

I’ve used other uhaul storage locations before and I have never experienced what I had experienced at this location. There was LIVE mice in my boxes! There were also dead ones! And besides the mice there was SO MUCH mice droppings and mice urine all over my possessions. Like I said, I’ve used other locations before and this has never happened to me. I won’t be using this storage location again for that reason. All my belongings are basically garbage and I’ll have to replace them. Which really defeated the purpose of storing and wasting money on storage this whole time!

Wasted 3 hours of my time due to a moving truck that was to fit for driving. It's stalled out 6 times! I had to unload and go pick up a working truck. I filled up the truck to what I received it with they said otherwise and attempted to charge me $30 for $5 worth of gas.

Worst service ever will never use Uhaul ever again. I have never been screwed around as much ever in my life. Uhaul is a joke. -Suffered personal injury onsite due to lack of "duty of care" by operators costing me personally $1,000's in care to fix. Dismissed by manager like I was some type of scoundrel, lawsuit pending. -Aluminum locking mechanism on outside of locker breaks almost immediately after move in, forced to DIY the locker closure for rental term or otherwise spend hours of my own time to have it fixed properly. Billed $50 upon move out. Aluminum is well known for it's robust qualities (sarcasm). -Dirty facility, visible and sizable accumulation of airborne dust in my lockers from onsite construction, no attempts by Uhaul or contractors to mitigate dust migration, i.e. hanging plastic sheeting would have done the job easily. No offers by management to compensate facility users for cleaning. -Evidence of rodent activity in lockers. No observable anti-rodent measures at the facility. -Claims of a secure facility are basically a joke. Worst storage experience to date. One would do well to avoid business with this operator. ps. Staff were helpful, manager was not.

As all Uhaul locations are different, there was no CLEAR indication that a user needs to enter their code in two different panels 2 feet away from each other, just to get in the building and disarm the alarm for the unit. This should have been incorporated into one panel, that when you enter your code, your particular unit disarms AND entry to the building is permitted. Seems silly and unrealistic to have two panels.

The initial person I dealt with was difficult and holding up everything and made getting a rental agreement tough and strenuous with all the stress that I was dealing with already. Even some of the other customers behind me provided their previous experience and that this normally didn’t happen how he said. Once everything was dealt with I still didn’t get this contract added to under my account. No payment was taken and which this costed me an hour extra when the movers for me came to obtain the key code and keys to the unit. The other guy I dealt with was newer I believe and received my frustration over the phone as I apologized to him being frustrated as I was there earlier and nonpayments was taken and the. There was an error on your end as to why my payment wasn’t going through. Finally when I called back again as the kid disconnected with me another guy helped me and he is the only reason why I am giving a fair and or average rating because he fixed everything apologize and provided me with the first month free as this mishaps was costing me money and time from my property management group. If it wasn’t for him I probably have a worse mental breakdown then I did with dealing with everything that I’ did that week.

Staff kept assuring me the free month of storage was only for out of province moves even though everywhere it was advertised seemed to indicate it would come with any truck rental. (Even had an email going "Alice, you qualify for a month of free storage!) Ended up paying for a storage unit I was not expecting to pay for. Will not be coming back.

Loved the Security Guard!! Upon move out, I waited so long to for my turn and “the guy” kept helping people behind me and not just one person either. Then to take a look at my locker, took forever. I was watching “the guy” go check my locker. First, he had to ask the people behind me again, second, he then lifted a forklift then loaded some chairs and blankets on it and took it somewhere outside along the way to my locker. I had to leave, I was in a rush but I knew things were fine. “The guy” was pretty loud and straight forward, but I believe that’s just his demeanour. Also “the guy” was just trying to do his job and multitask at the same time. Which he was pretty good at btw. All satisfactory!

Some cleaning or something went on and some black dust was in our unit from the open ceiling and went all over our belongings in the unit! We had to brush off everything before moving out. Also it is good you guys are open 7 days a week but NOT having 24 hour access to the unit is NOT good when you have customers that work long hours and need to get into the unit. I was told we could only access the unit during certain hours 7am to 7pm Mon to Thursday and until 8pm on Friday and on 5pm on Sundays. It should be accessible 24 hours to customers since you have cameras and an access card?? I am not very happy with this and the dirty unit we experienced.

the only issue is personal injury. the overhead door to my space has s rope loop hanging from the bottom as a handle for shorter people (I am 6'8). I was trying to remove a metal chair feom a highrt up spot in the locker, the chaiir came loose, I tried to back away, but the back of my head got caugjt in the rope loop hanging from the bottom of the overhead door and the metal chair hit me in my mouth breaking my teeth. Besides my broken teeth everything was great.

the staff were not knowledgeable about things. the attitude was less than acceptable. i got improperly charged for the uhaul truck rental and still am working on that issue. overall not a good experience/ the floor in the building was all broken up so made moving the cart difficult. the yes or no part of your review is not accurate either as there are parts that the answer is of a partly nature, as in parts of the facility clean and well maintained and other parts not like the floor area near the entrance of the storage area is broken up, anyway i am displeased with being charged when i was told no charges for the extra days or mileage with the truck. i have been a uhaul user for many years and this is my first encounter of not being satisfied. please fix the issue of the charges. thank you. Facilities were easily accessible and I was happy to get a unit close to the entrance. The price was competitive with other units. However, there was only one person working in the store at the time, and he was in the break room when we arrived an hour after opening, so we waited outside the locked door for about 5 minutes for him to come outside. He was very friendly but continually mis entered information, like the address and our names, and otherwise asked for information I didn't have (like a Manitoba drivers license). He also did not give us the unit number until after we got into the storage area because he'd forgetten. Totally respect that times are tough right now but please hire two people for a location because this man was struggling

Although I did not require self storage for my first move, I did require it for my second move. The staff is great in all respects and I am very happy with the cleanliness and security inside the storage area.
