I have used U-Haul on many occasions though out the years, but I have never had an experience as such. Upon arrival to the location I booked the u-haul truck at, I was informed they do not carry the size truck I reserved. I then was informed to go to a completely different location that was much further out from the original location. Upon my arrival to the second u-haul location, I was told there was no reservation on file. I explained my situation and was told the truck would not be available until an hour after the time I previously reserved it for online. This was a huge inconvenience for me on moving day. I also requested movers, so I had movers arriving with no moving truck! This was the worst experience and I am highly disappointed in the company.

For now rating this as poor. I am being billed for fuel when I returned the vehicle with more fuel. Please resolve. I like the staff at this location but now I have to invest my time to try to resolve this discrepancy.

I am 6’3” and was incredibly disappointed to see that the seats in the truck could not be adjusted for more leg room. Also, the AC didn’t work and the visor was broken do it would dip down blocking the top half of the windshield. 2 stars instead of 1 only because the workers got me in and out of there quickly and with good attitudes. Again, this rating is low because U-HAUL did not properly maintain the truck, the check-in people were great.

Unit felt like it was falling apart. Door would not close, had to slam shut to register it was closed. Wind came through it, concerned it might not be well closed. I was told unit had half tank as I was leaving location bell sound and car showed zero gas. Had to quickly stop to put gas in it. Staff is friendly, manager was nice. When I returned vehicle cost was adjusted because I drove fewer miles than I thought and only used it for about 90 minutes. Recommend people to reserve a vehicle in advance to get what you need instead of what is available (you will save per mile fees if you only need a pickup truck or van). Car was relatively clean when received but felt like it was falling apart nearly 140,000 miles on it.

Experience was great; except that I ordered 10 moving blankets online to be included with my rental, however, when I showed up to pick up the truck, I was told this particular location didn’t rent them. I would’ve rented from a different location if i would’ve known it here weren’t any blankets. Should’ve indicated it online when I was scheduling the rental. Customer service at this loacatiob was great :).

When picking up my reserved truck, the person handing over the key did not walk through anything with me and handed me the key and said it’s ready. when I got into the truck the gas was on empty, but they had told me that there was gas in there. then once arriving to my location for packing up, I couldn’t lock up the truck from the back as the lock was cut from a previous rental so my items cannot have been secured. Also inside the truck there was no blankets or bungees that could have been used and the hanging container where they would have been stored was unzipped and empty. When I returned the truck I left it with no gas as that is how it was received, and I did indicate in my check out via my app that there was no gas and that the lock was cut. I rented this U-Haul for my children’s marching band and it was just an unfortunate experience. We will be doing more events with the School band and I will be looking at other truck rental companies.

Given wrong location for pick up. Placed order for pick up near me and was told the day before I’d have to drive 20 min to pick it up. It was too late to make other arrangements. Get to the place they tell us, it is closed for another half an hour. Tried to get a hold of uhaul for 30 min with no avail. Finally around 8 we get a call from a complete different location asking if we’re going to be there to pick up the truck .. what? We had to drive to another location to pick up the truck, which ate in to our rental time and we were not offered a later return. The furniture savers I ordered were not provided. Also found marijuana stems and blunt wrappers in the door of the truck. What a nightmare experience I would rather carry my stuff next time.

Although on the paper it showed the gas was at a certain level when I got into the car it wasn’t. I was in a hurry so I just took a picture and did what I needed to do. When I got back I took another picture showing that I put gas to the amount that I got it in and reported the situation the the attendant. He said he would take note of it and sent me on my way but when I checked the receipt I was charged for the gas. It seemed like he didn’t even take. One of it and pretty much disregarded what I told him.

Need asap a wheel alignment, and steering adjustment. Dirty from the outside but understandable for dust from environment. I’m not quite sure I did 120 miles, probably around 80 but not 120

There was no dolly which I paid for and the A/C in the truck did not work. So a hard day was made even more difficult sweltering through a hot day. This is the second time I have rented a truck from U-haul in a month and both times the service has been less than a modest nice let alone stellar.

I have rented and had hitches installed here for at least 30 years and have always been given polite and attentive service. While I did rate the truck as clean, that was a bit of a gift. It was not excellent exterior, windshield quite dirty and body was mud splattered. Not terrible but enough that I wish it had been power washer off. Interior was fine. The truck ran and drove just fine.

The reservation, and pick up went perfectly smooth. They had the trailer at the location that I requested. The lady at the front counter hooked the trailer up to my truck for me and gave me the proper instructions on how to use the trailer. The drop off location in Sacramento was outstanding. They unhooked the trailer and sent me on my way within a matter of seconds. I will definitely recommend U-Haul again.

The dolly I wanted wasn't in stock, then the dolly I was told would be there wasn't given to me. They guy at the counter- was either his first day or he was stoned out of his mind. Will consider alternate locations next time.

The truck has line was cut and the check engine light was on when they gave it to us. The whole time we were driving the car sounded like it was struggling to shift down. Literally scared for our lives for the whole 6 hours we drove it.

The truck was full of ants. I discovered while I was driving and getting bitten that the glove box was not cleaned. The truck had issues downshifting. when slowing down it would jerk and come almost to a complete stop and make a really bad noise.

It would be helpful to include a dolly with the truck rental instead of being subjected to availability. It was really hard to move heavy boxes without a dolly.

Cashier said the 15 dollar insurance was mandatory for this specific truck because it was new. After the ride, I found the receipt for the person that used the truck before me and it did not list the insurance charge. So I basically got scammed for a charge I didn’t need. Thanks. I will never get a U-Haul again unless it’s absolutely necessary.

The staff at the National City branch went above and beyond and far exceeded our expectations. Their customer service and interpersonal skills were on point, and their Uhaul boxes did the job! Thanks Uhaul for everything, and I would definitely recommend this location.

Even if your do a reservation in advance like I did several weeks before, the appliance and utility dollies are on a first come first serve basis. Little upsetting for this as i had to drive an extra 10 miles out of my route to get a dolly and being charged per mile means i gave them an extra $1.39x10. They did not do any inspections with me or explain anything. The attendant was nice and the vehicle was fine though. Just think alittle more attention should be done on the matters I made above.

When picked up fuel level was wrong compared to contract, which said it was at 7/16 but was more at 3/8. When I returned I put it to the 7/16 and got charged more as they said it was at 3/8 but it was at 7/16 the level when I picked it up and more than they said. Not a big deal but a little more attention to detail would be nice.

I requested an appliance dolly with my rental order and the location didn’t have one to give me. They did search three other locations to find me one, but I had to drive to pick it up. It should’ve been with the truck already. This was also after I was reassigned my pick up location.

Great experience! The lady at the front desk helped me schedule the pick up very quickly and made the process super easy. Afterward, the gentlemen in the lot was fast and efficient getting the trailer hooked up and secured. Shop off was just a smooth, as the gentleman who unloaded the trailer was friendly and quick also. Everything went smoothly. Highly recommend this location.

The folks working at the location were on point and knew what they were doing. I appreciate that. After I got home and was loading the trailer, I noticed that one of the tires was really low, at 7 psi. All other tires were maxed out at 65 psi. I noticed that the low tire has a pretty big screw in it. I added air and it seemed to hold so I kept doing my work. This isn't a big complaint, but it should have been caught before renting the trailer out.

The 10’ truck was dusty all over exterior windows and could not see through it. I had to clean myself at a gas station. Also, I reserved an upright dolly and a moving dolly and was told they didn’t have any available. I spent an hour driving around to other U-Haul locations and was able to find a moving dolly.

The trailer was in great shape however there was an issue with the lights because the pigtail used to connect the trailer to the vehicle was old and torn up and was sparking every time you use the right indicator This was a little frustrating because it is a $2 item and that U-Haul should of replaced when it has cuts and chaffing

We never moved in. I accidentally pressed the storage button last June 23 when I was reserving for UHAUL Truck. I didn’t even know there’s a UHAUL storage. It was a mistake, we’ve never been to that place. I already made several calls requesting for the $91 refund.

I’ve been with this storage company for a few years and I would have to say I have never met such wonderful staff! They go above and beyond for their customers. I don’t want to give any examples because there are just too many. I definitely would say you just have to go and see for yourself! They all have awesome attitudes and are willing to help whenever it’s needed. I appreciate this location so much, I’m telling you they are AWESOME! I’m so sad to leave because I’m moving away but my experience with them over the years has been the BEST!!!

Service was good. Parking is a bit scarce. Having to put that code in every time in and out is for the birds. And I can't BELIEVE you don't have an elevator. I am disabled and you're telling me that if the bottom floor is full you can deny me based off my disability? That's not cool

I came in during a really busy time (end of month) and even though things felt really unpredictable because of how many customers were coming and going and needing different things, the staff never stopped being kind and doing everything they could to help me whether it was helping me scan things or letting me borrow tools to take apart my belongings for storage they were always there. I'm truly grateful and I'm going to be recommending this facility to anyone who needs storage or truck rental.

When I came in, I had no direction and had no place to put my stuff. Tannya stepped up, got us in our unit and make sure that we had a the correct lock. If I could give Tannya and this store 10 stars I absolutely would. If Tannya worked for me personally, I would give her a raise.! Rick Zaragoza is a solid storage facility operator. He is very personable as was at the facilities almost every day it was open. I will definitely rent from Rick again in the future. I moved to Yuma, Arizona and I rented from Uhaul again mainly due to my most recent experience with Rick at his North 4th Avenue location in Chula Vista.

This is one of the cleanest and most well-maintained storage facility I have ever seen. The staff has always been helpful I have always been able to get a parking spot and the hours are perfect.If I ever need a storage facility again I will be coming here without a doubt.
