The equipment was clean and the staff was friendly. However, it felt like there was no't a proper inspection done of the vehicle mileage or the fuel level. Both were incorrect!! The fuel level was not at the filled mark as indicated on the receipt and mentioned by the staff. That felt fraudulent and this is why I will not recommend this location in Ontario Street, Cohoes, NY.

NELSON RThey have screwed my whole reservation. I was outside for 3 hours in the rain with the customer service and trying to figure out how to take my truck out. They have not move my truck to the front and there was no way I could have taken my truck out because other trucks was on the way and I have the picture and video. Then they provided me with another truck the lock wouldn’t work or open. Then they offered me another truck finally we got it but was super big truck for us. Everything went downhill for me.

JAMES PHave people on site to help with equipment. Customers shouldn't have to hook up and connect and unhook equipment themselves. Luckily I didn't hurt myself trying to hook up a 6x12 utility trailer all by myself. That would have made for a nasty lawsuit.

KYLEAH SActually do your job. Assess a car’s hitch before you rent a trailer. Don’t say” oh they will take care of everything when you pick up the trailer tomorrow” Who is “they”? No one there was able to install the back light connection. The woman on friday told me I would have to wait till monday to get it done..Every other uhaul is closed in the area till monday. So i was supposed to delay my storage move out, pay for 2 more days hotel, cancel my weekend plans in virginia because uhaul fidn mt do their job? I finally called uhaul global ( since the cohoes office doesn’t exert thrmselves) and they identified a place yo install the light connectiion on my car. But I had to drive to Massachusetts the following morning to have this done. The man who helped connect the trailer to my friend’s truck on friday 3/28 actually seemed like he wanted to help but was not able to install the light connector. What do you think of my experience?

NATHANIEL TThe trucks transmission kept slipping. Would pick up speed. Had to floor it to even get to 25 mph on flat ground. Was charged for gas, even though I brought it back how I found it at a quarter tank. Told the clerk and still got charged

Trailer was full of trash when i picked it up. I had to clean some before i could even use it. I never received $50 for equipment not be ready when i went to pick up at my appointment and was charged cleaning fee appn return, even though i left trailer cleaner than when i had picked it up.

Susan HThe only "complaint" I have is we were trying to use the app as I chose mobile pickup when renting the truck. We were there and the app was telling us we were at the wrong location. We were not. Eventually we gave up on the app and spoke to the gentleman inside to get it situated. i won't be using the app the next time I rent a uhaul.

AISLINN MI returned my U-Haul on March 1st to a busy, disorganized location. I was assured that my reservation was complete and would be closed out appropriately. I thought all was well until I began receiving texts, emails and a phone call wondering when I was returning the rental. After several attempts to contact this location directly and 2 calls to central registration I was finally assured that I would not be charged. When I finally received the receipt that I returned the trailer, although I wasn’t charged extra, it had the date of March 4th which is incorrect. I returned it on March 1st and would like the record corrected to reflect the actual date.

DANIEL WI rent a 26 foot truck come to find out after I got it to the house to start loading my thing I noticed just than that my truck was missing a wiper blade and had a peace of wood from the last person that moved in the back of the truck still.

LETICIA LThe vehicle we rented had a filthy dirty interior. The windshield was dirty on the inside, the dashboard and steering column were dusty, the drink holder console and steering wheel were sticky and dirty and had gooey stuff left from someone else. The nterior lights didn’t work, and the gauge-panel with speedometer and mileage was totally dirty. I used a multi purpose cleaner and rag to make it less disgusting before using it. Additionally, the gas level was recorded improperly at pickup time. Fortunately we took a picture while at the facility to prove it had less fuel than was written on the statement. We were not charged for the difference. The store is dirty and the parking lot is littered with debris. Given the amount of business it should receive some maintenance.

NASANGA SFor the 2nd time in a month the staff did not check in my rental when returned. Without checking or any verification was charged double. After 3 phone calls and a complaint, im told the process to correct this takes 7 days. Absolutely unacceptable. Will never use them again.

There has to be the friendliest person I’ve ever met at U-Haul or for most doors for that matter.! Hopefully you guys treat him right so you can keep him as an employee

JEFFREY MAttendants were helpful The truck cargo was ready to be rented but cargo was dirty with mud and dirt. I had to sweep it out myself. I noticed THAT THEY WERE SHORT HANDED AS USUAL!

RACHEL LLocation gave me trailer traveling one way over 1100 miles with 2 bald tires and a tire leaking from valve stem. Had to spend 4 hours adding air and changing trailers due to roadside not having any replacement tire. This was unacceptable
ERIC BOnly thing was the lighting inside the storage unit It was intermittent at best I informed staff several times about lighting and they didn't seem to care about it since it was never rectified Don't think at move out it was the same staff I addressed though. There was different personnel. There needs to be assurance that lighting inside units are operational at all times

There's no daily pro-rated fee, if you have a few days left on the unit, there's no refund of cost difference of non usage like other storage companies. In order to get to my unit I had to climb a ladder that was in it self unsafe and heavy to push. The Manager is rude and obnoxious. He makes customers purchase what's not needed. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. My unit seemed to have been broken into, the ceiling in my unit had a leak, that I wasn't told about. Because there was debris all over my furnishings. My experience was awful. I wouldn't recommend. Totally dissatisfied. The price of the unit was way more than what it should have cost. Considering that people have had thier furnishings stolen at this location. I will say the only welcomed help I had was by a young black guy with dreads, he was awesome and went above and beyond. That was my only good experience. The other 2 employees were crasp and unconcerned. Not even offering a discount after closing my unit and I purchased a hauler to remove my furnishings. And I had 10 more days left on my paid locker for which I wasn't receiving anything from the leftover days. Uhaul should be ashamed of over charging. And my spouse is a Veteran and there's no discounts for our men and women in uniform. I'm posting this review online and I'm sending out a message to all Veterans and active duty members as to my experience with Uhaul. Horrible. Shame on you!!!

The representative I spoke to on the phone was courteous and very informative. And the person at the place was a very nice guy. He helped me find what I was looking for for the price I was willing to spend. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this facility.

Monique K | Overall ExperienceThe directions for accessing the unit for the first time seem to be made for a different kind of facility. It mentioned a keypad next to the unit... that doesn't exist. It directed me to rearm my unit, also not possible without the keypad next to it. And also even on the keypad outside the door to the building the keypad directions threaten to disallow aces to the building next time unless we check out/rearm the building, which is not possible. Just very confusing.

When I arrived I was told this facility doesn’t use the online reservation system and they don’t rent out exterior storage spaces. I was told I should have called first, but I can only find the national UHaul phone number, not a number for this store. I was asked to accept a room up a set of movable stairs which are shared by other customers. I didn’t realize until I saw it that it was a crawl space not tall enough to stand in. The wheels on the stairs are stiff and difficult to maneuver. I am concerned about another customer moving the stairs while I am in my room, stranding me up there. I would feel safer if there was a system to attach the stairs to the room. There are chains already on the stairs. Perhaps there is a system I don’t understand?

The only concern is that there was a small hole in the corner of the unit, which I reported when I closed the unit. Was just worried that a mouse would get in, but I did not see any evidence of one. Was well lit up, secure clean and a good temperature. Thank you for the facility putting durable locks on the units. Overall experience very good and happy. Thank you!

Paul K | Overall ExperienceThe first time I came to purchase a storage I was told by the black guy that U-Haul in Cohoes, Albany and Latham had NO UNITS available even tho I seen online they had units! Come to find out he just didn't want to do his job. I spent the rest of that looking for a storage when I could of just booked that day! Total waste of time. I went online and reserved a unit in minutes which proved he was a liar the customer service agent I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and he helped me secured my unit. I returned to the U-Haul place and purchase my unit after I told him I was able to booked online and he lied. Also he has a habit of when the customer comes in of just walking out he doesn't say "I'll be with you shortly, I'll be right back or nothing" just terrible customer service!! I really needed the storage unit but next time I will go else where this place needs to find workers who actually wanna work and help the customer as a first timer I had no idea what I was doing and he didn't offer to guide me or help! Terrible

I went to the location to get my free lock and went to check out the location of my unit to find there are no elevators and only stairs. If I wouldn't have gone by to check then I would have went and loaded a truck full of furniture only to have to turnaround and go unload it. Wasted alot of my time. I had to cancel and find another unit elsewhere. I understand things happen but this wasted alot of my limited time.

Which came off and could have damaged someone’s vehicle, or injured someone! The truck was not set up for return correctly as I clearly stated one way, to get a free month of storage at the Cohoes location. The fact your mobile app does not allow to change drop off locations is not convenient or helpful at all! I had to call in several times to clarify about the drop off.

I GOT HIT WITH A MONTHLY PAYMENT OF $144 FOR A $64 STORAGE UNIT... I AM NOT VERY PLEASED AT ALL.. THIS IS NOT GOOD BUSINESS AT ALL. I HAD A DEATH AND BURIED MY MOM THEN JAD TO GO TO BUFFALO TO TAKE CARE OF HER HOUSE TO PUT IT ON THE MARKET. THANKS FOR NOTHING I WAS OVERSHELNEX AS IT WAS AND YOU MADE IT WORSE FOR ME IN NOVEMBER BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE THE $$ TO THROW AWAY .

Mobile stairs had to be placed, you'd unlock the door, then have to move the stairs out of the way to open the door, then move the stairs back. Unit had a huge beam and lots of wires running through it. Glad I was storing boxes and not bigger items. / Removed items from locker after hours. Called next day to close out. Direct Deposit was not stopped. Called to have stopped. Monies were withdrawn. Called to get refund. Six days later money had not been returned. Had to call again. I believe my issue has now been resolved. I hope. After 3 phone calls and being on hold 20 minutes each time I am not thrilled about this experience. I will still use this site again. I just wasn't thrilled with this time.

The representative on the phone told me I could use their climate controlled storage with one month free. She said the unit was on the ground floor. The unit i received was not only on the second floor but it was only accessible by these mobil "staircases". The staircase was falling apart and had no railing at the top which was extremely dangerous. To add, the unit was probably 90 degrees inside. I was looking forward to a nice convenient end to the moving trip but this was pretty unfortunate. Thought it would help to share. Thank you

I was NOT told that the stairs were on wheels, weight at least 25-30 pounds & are the most wobbly, narrow, unsafe, unsecure stairs ever. No way these stairs should be in the building. Scary. Further, after you push the extremely heavy stairs into place and unlock your unit, you can't open the door to the unit. The bars at the top of the stairs are in the way, so you have to drag the stairs away again, open the door and then drag the stairs back into place. And my unit was on the end behind a corner. So no pushing the stairs right up to my unit. I had to navigate a tight corner. Every trip to my storage unit was a nightmare.
