TIMOTHY BOvercharged me for gas situation. The tank was on a quarter of a tank when I arrived. They had me turn the truck back on to train a new person leaving it running the whole time checking all the lights, then told me I was ok to leave. As I was walking to the restaurant next door, I looked back and the truck was still running. Horrible way to treat a long standing customer. I have used and referred other people to use your service for several years. Never again. I hated leaving this type of message, but it is what it is....
RONALD BThe front desk woman stated that there would be someone to help unhook the trailer at 7:00pm upon returning the trailer, there was no one. When when picking up the trailer, there was no one outside to direct which trailer to hook up, and I had to go inside and ask the IT guy for help. Also, the add for the 6'×12' trailer with gate said it could fit a 60" object, but this is incorrect as the gate was only 58". So I had to change the reservation last minute, in all, I was there for an hour trying to get this figured out. Very unsatisfied as I was rushing to get the trailer back, because our departure was late. As well as, returning with no one to assist, and then the app says I owe an additional charge.

HELMUTH C | First ImpressionsIssues where you had over 5 people picking up vehicles on Sunday morning at 9:00AM and there was only 1 person checking everyone in, which made for an unnecessary wait. Also the app is stupid and someone should just walk around the vehicle with you to check for defects like it always has been. This app is definitely not user friendly when returning a vehicle after hours and you are trying to just get home. Took me over a damn hour to get the vehicle checked in before I could leave. It was so frustrating that I almost said the hell with it all and left the damn vehicle and left. I do not look forward to renting from U-Haul again especially considering that I will potentially being needing to get a large truck in the next coming month. Very disappointing customer service. 😡😡😡👎👎👎
JOEL JI was very disappointed with the speed and quality of customer service. I waited a long time to get the truck I rented. About 25min total. The 26' truck only had a quarter tank of gas and a broken drivers mirror (it spun around on the post). I had to maintain a schedule because of the help I needed from friends and family to move, so because I was late getting out of the store I didn't have time to completely check the truck. Staff did not pull it out for me. It was parked extremely close to the truck next to it also and just overall had a bad experience at this location. I rented a different truck at the north Royalton OH location on the Friday before and had a much better experience. I don't think I'll rent from U-haul again. It was expensive, annoying, and dangerous.
MARK FThe gentleman that took my returned rental vehicle was very nice and helpful. Only took a few minutes to drop off, which is great, due to being in a hurry. I wish I got his name because he does a great job.

ANTHONY TProcessing was quick and easy. I rented from the same place a month ago and was a little put off that the vehicle we we given was on empty and had put put gas in it right from the start. This time the van that we were assigned was 95% full. Made it a lot easier to top it off when returned. Would highly recommend.

Julie SMaybe more detail during check-out of the vehicle. I did not know the vehicle begins driving in "trailer/tow" mode using lots of gas before anything is loaded in it. Also, I had trouble matching the vehicle number to where it was parked... the staff let me wander around lost for 10 minutes before I found the truck.

MARTIN YUpon checking out the vehicle, the U-Haul app was not working properly when trying to download and attach photo's of previous damage. After trying for about 30 minutes, the girl working the front desk agreed that I could leave after showing her the photo's on my phone since she would still be there when I returned in a few hours later. Upon returning the vehicle , Stephany was very helpful and was aware of the download issue earlier that morning.
SCOTT JAgents were good, he truck I rented was like a death trap, tires out of round, steering wheel rocking back and forth, needed both hands, Check engine light on, lots of vibrations, noise, and When I took the truck back looks like I was charged for fuel, when in fACT i PUT MORE IN IT THAT WHEN i GOT IT.

BEATRIZ RHonestly, I was very very nervous. This was our first time towing a trailer. Our trailer was very well maintained with new tires (I was nervous about the tire possibly blowing out) so the new tires were awesome. Now i know every trailer isn't in as good as shape as ours but we were very very happy. The daily rate is the best i could find. But the insurance could use a little more coverage for the pricing offered. I will defiantly use again if needed.

ROBERT PI rented a 10 inch box truck and my cargo ended up getting soaked from water leaking in from the seal from the roof. I only rented it on 03-08-2025 from 11 am to 3 pm. I made a claim. No response back yet.

ASHLEY ZThe truck preformed excellent on the trip. Being given a truck with a tank that was not full, huge issue! Trying to match that at the end when you turn it in is next to impossible so you guys got more money out of me because I couldn’t get it exact. I personally think that is on purpose. Either the client misses under the mark and you charge more or the client really errs and gives you more gas costing the client more. The windows on the vehicle were filthy INSIDE and out causing me to clean them so there was a clear field of vision to operate the vehicle. Also, not sure that 7 mpg is really a green vehicle.
SEAN HI was a little put off when the van needed gas right from the get go. The low fuel light was on upon starting the van, and showed 16 miles till empty. I was instructed to return it to 1/4 tank and get credited for the extra gas that I put in. Maybe it's just me, I would think of putting gas in it afterwards rather than beforehand. Overall the experience was good. Van was clean and staff was courteous.

So I left the yard around 11, brought the trailer back at 10:30 the next day and the employee who checked me in said “ it want me to charge you for two days but since it’s a snow storm I’m just going to charge the 1” Which I certainly appreciate considering I didn’t even leave the yard till damn near 11. Guy who checked me in was cool, rest need improvement

Once we were being waited on we were told the unit we reserved was not available and that we could get non climate controlled or go to another facility. Staff was unprofessional, griping, and antagonistic. Their knowledge about their own processes and computer systems was severely lacking. Gate access to the storage area was not working, even after getting two access cards activated. What should have been a 20 minute visit turned into an hour+ headache of an ordeal.

I had a flood in my house and lost almost everything. The little bit of belongings that I could salvage I wanted to store safely. I went into U-Haul in Lorain and rented a truck and storage unit. I will never use U-Haul again or refer anyone to them. The office staff was so unhelpful and rude if I wasn’t so desperate I would have left and went somewhere else. When renting a storage unit for the first time I had no idea how it worked. The office staff didn’t explain how it worked or even what to do. One guy at the desk could not complete my transaction because he didn’t have a cash drawer so I thought he was getting another employee to help me as other customers were coming in and getting waited on I’m just standing there. So I finally asked the guy at the desk why I wasn’t getting any assistance and he said well you have to get in another line. I have never been there before I didn’t know I had to go to another line. I just lost all my belongings to a flood I’m completely heartbroken at what is going on in my life and just needing a storage unit for a while until I get my house back in order. I’m sorry I’m sure this comment won’t help anyone and probably no one will even read it so I’m probably just wasting my time.

The storage I reserved, had a rusted lock handle that look like it could give someone tetanus (the other storage units around were not rusted) and I had to ask them to assist because it would not open (one of the staff came out and oiled it. I didn't get his name but he had a major attitude during the whole process. The staff member named Asia never added the insurance coverage, as she reassured me should would, for the storage at the end of the billing process/check out process. She was courteous but did not follow through with these situations. I am extremely disgusted by the experience at the Elyria, Ohio location. Truly I am. I am considering if I can find a way to take my storage items somewhere else locally. As a customer I don't need to be made to feel as if I am bothering you on the job. Unbelievable.

Only thing was, I wasn't immediately sure what the proper course of action was after that. I was able to head into the store / office, and was then granted a key card to swipe on the gate and exit keypad that I was informed about. But I am still am not sure what would be the proper course of action should that happen during hours where the office / store is closed. I was previously unaware of a key card being available, so it was a pleasant surprise. Otherwide my experience was very enjoyable and an happy with my unit.

She also tried charging me for two days when I didn’t even have the truck 13 hours. I called corporate and they continually apologized for their employees behavior. Fore, she didn’t expect me to have documented evidence of paying for gas and a full tank. She also said I went X amount of miles, but if she had put thought into her lies she would had realized the math to miles and gas didn’t add up. I have proof that every single thing she said was a lie. And I hope to god someone high-up sees this post and investigates into her because she should so not be a manager. She’s going to get Uhaul a lawsuit filed against them … the way she does customers.

When I arrived yesterday for my reserved 10x10x8 storage room with an established move in date, I was told that the unit I had reserved was not available. The only one I could get was 10x5x8. Which is roughly half the room I was expecting. We were lucky enough to puzzle piece everything together to get it all to fit, but as a company you shouldn’t rug pull your customers like that. Just makes me never want to go through uhaul again.

I then had to get 2 storage units instead of one and the price was double what I was originally quoted. I was assured by the manager that she would get the price adjusted. I waited for 2 months and my calls were ignored by the manager. At one point I was denied access due to late payment aft we r being instructed not to pay until the price was corrected. In the end I was still charges over 100 dollars more than I was originally quoted. I would recommend never using Uhaul storage.
