The morning shift guy was pretty grumpy to us

JOEL OThe app kept glitching and didn't allow me to take pictures of the vehicle at check out. Also, there was a fuel cap warning in the dash since I checked out. The parking brake release was very difficult as the handle was not working properly.

JOHN RThe staff here is always really nice and working really hard. It would be nice however if there was away from you to come and grab a trailer more quickly. I I have found even with no line and the staff working as quickly as possible,, it still takes about 30 minutes get a trailer. It would just be nice to be able to go there. Pick it up and leave.

Andrea LI have frequently rented moving trucks and trailers from this Golden U-Haul location for over five years. I’ve always had excellent service from the staff. On many occasions, I have had to push my rental out for an extra day, or even multiple days, and they have always accommodated my needs with no concerns. This is definitely my choice location for renting moving equipment.

QUENTIN DWindshield was filthy, it had to be cleaned twice to be able to feel comfortable driving the vehicle. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The app did not work, it would not allow the pictures to be uploaded and I couldn't continue to next steps. I shouldn't have to upload any pictures or do any paperwork other than a signature that should be your employees responsibility. Especially if your programs don't work and I don't get any discount for doing the work that should have been done before I arrived. This takes away from my time using the truck. Trying to check in on the return of the equipment the app would not work either! I rented the truck for 4 days, picked up on Thursday morning and by 7 am on the 4th day I was getting notified that the truck should have been returned already. That would only be 3 days. I tried again to use the app to extend the rental but it would not work. Oil was well over full when picked up. The trucks were all backed into the trucks behind them, denting in the bumpers. Next time I will use another provider!

panteles pI went to the counter to check out our truck, but staff told me I needed to do everything on my phone/in the uhaul app, and it was very annoying and time consuming. I'm not sure what the point of that is when there were two employees sitting at the counter with nothing else to do.

BRIAN DI dropped off a trailer on 09/10/2025. The agent said I didn't need to wait, and I could leave while he checked in the rental. He said I would receive a receipt within the hour. Two days later, I received a receipt. Meaning I was charged for two extra days. Pretty disappointing.

RANDELL BUpon dropping the trailer off, I checked to see if the passenger side blinker & brake light were still inoperative and they still were not. As I am checking, I have the hazards on and the associate walks out. You can clearly see one side isn’t working. He told me to get in my car and try it again. “Magically” they were all now working according to him so I could out to see and he rushed to disconnect it so I couldn’t see. He then told me the trailer was fine and it was my car that was the problem. He seemed uninterested in being helpful from the jump which is usually a sign when someone is wearing AirPods while working. Anyway, he put the trailer away and it still needs to be repaired.
Cody RTried to check in at the counter and employees simply directed me to the website on my phone and told me to fill everything out online while they sat there on their phones ignoring me. When I asked if they could just look up my reservation number they told me I had to do it on my phone. Drop off process was MUCH easier as different employees simply took the keys and sent me on my way.

I am always able to expect that everything will be ready to go, and in good order, and never a question in my mind that things won't be done well. RACHEL BThe new checkout system, using the app, is "for the birds". I am over 60 and apps are not always my friend. Thanks much to Brendan at this location for helping this old lady. The fact that Uhaul wants to punish its customers by charging $20 for actually engaging with a human for checkout is ludicrous. UHaul is basically trying to make customers use apps so that they can hire fewer people and the app isn't customernfriendly, and didn't work well at the UHaul location I used because cell reception was not good and the location needs wifi (which it doesn't have) for customers to use the app. But do you really want to sign onto a UHaul location's wifi and possibly compromise your phone's security so that you can pay for your rental? This new mandatory checkout system will deter me from looking to UHaul in the future.
