The girl working at the Grants Pass, Oregon location on May 29 at 630pm told us we needed to buy a 2-inch ball as "ALL U-haul trailers use a 2-inch ball". Actually, we would have been okay with our 17/8 ball per U-Haul website. The trailer we were saddled with looked like it was one of the original U-Haul trailers. It was old, very well weathered & all of the decorative decals...were peeling away. The sole female employee hooked up the trailer, checked our lights & then we left. After driving about 2 miles on busy city streets--- the trailer came uncoupled! It was terrifying & fortunately no damage was done to our vehicle or your trailer. This could have resulted in a very serious or deadly accident had we been on the freeway or had the trailer loaded! With help of bystanders, we were able to get the trailer PROPERLY attached. I tried to contact the store in Grants Pass on May 30, to inform a manager, to no avail & the main U-Haul number also to no avail. It seems that your phones are never actually answered by real people. I returned the trailer a day early (June 1) in Osburn, Idaho. The "U'Haul lady" only works Monday-Friday from 8am-1pm. HUH???? (1:30 pm on June 1) & I was told to leave the trailer on the lot & a sales clerk took my information. I asked her to make a copy of my invoice but she refused. I asked for an email receipt but did not get one. On June 2, I received a voicemail from "Josh" TELLING ME to return the trailer to Coeur d' Alene----60 miles away--instead of Osburn! I tried calling this character back to no avail. WHY would I drive 120 miles to take a trailer back when my original drop site was Osburn?!?!?! RUDE!!!!! On June 3 (2 days after the trailer was returned) I received a terse TEXT from this number (509-892-5405) demanding to know where the trailer was & telling me that my trailer was overdue...! RUDE!!!!!! I contacted the "U-haul lady" (Jessica I believe--she was quite nice but untrained) at the Osburn location. She said she had not "checked-in" the trailer because she did not know how to do it when the pick-up was from another location. She then (the day after the trailer was due!) called her supervisor & told me it was "all good" & he would email me a receipt. Have NOT received a receipt yet!!!!! I have rented from U-Haul many times in the past & have never encountered this type of a circus! You seriously need to be training all your employees in every aspect of the business before U-Haul is no more.

JIM D | First ImpressionsThe employee entered an inflated amount as my starting gasoline level. Luckily, I screenshot the actual gas level and showed it when I returned. The second employee was able to adjust so I wasn't overcharged, but it took her a few minutes.

MICHELLE CThe guy you have working there was awful. He told me that we couldn’t use a paper license (even though we’ve rented uhauls multiple times a month to transport cars and that’s what we used litterally 2 days before) then he gets a call that we can and he starts trying to start an argument with me about his job on the line and is freaking out waiting for his boss to call. He kept repeating, “what does Bend have to do with us here. No like I’m not trying to be smart I’m just not understanding what it has to do with this situation”, well it’s related because no where did it ever say anywhere you don’t take paper licenses. Then once the boss calls he is getting frustrated because he can’t operate the simple app, he opted for us to do the selfie with a picture of the license, and then he was taking a picture of the license and getting flustered and frustrated because it wasn’t working because he put it in the spot for the selfie…. Then because we were there for 45 minutes with two kids just trying to rent a auto transport like we do before I was not happy, then he acted like I was yelling at him and it was my fault that he’s an idiot.
RONNY AFast, efficient and friendly. I came in with no reservation and left with equipment in under 15 minutes.

KEVIN NSystem was down so checkout took much longer than it should have. I was overcharged after returning it well before 24 hours and then refunded only the extra day instead of the extra day and the day of insurance. I never received a final receipt even though they asked me to confirm my email at check in and was told I'd get an email. I never did.

RICHARD NWell the Truck door was hard to close due to damage, the person at the front could not find the order for the boxes i paid for online. Even though i showed her the receipt and the charge on my card she said it wouldn't pull up in her system, so i had to buy them again (Which is still want a refund for). When i got in the truck said it was full but apparently the fuel gauge is off or rigged because I only drove the truck a total of 7 miles and it went down by a quarter of a tank, I put 20 in it and it didn't go back up.

ELIZABETH ROn the day of my rental I got a call that my pick up was not going to be available at the original time. Agreed to push back the pick up. Upon arriving the truck had not been returned yet. The staff were able to help use with a different vehicle. The staff were friendly and cooperative. Returning the rental was very smooth and no issues. Will use this location again in the future.
DAVID PReserved a 8' pickup for a large household dump run. It became unavailable, so they rented me a box truck for the same price as the pickup. This was convenient as we didn't have to tie down the load. Box truck ran fine, but the drivers side sun visors retaining clip was broken, causing the visor to constantly flop down. Fortunately, total miles driven was 16. So it was just a minor inconvenience.
