IRINA L | Overall ExperienceRemotely rented 2 U-boxes to load in NJ to transport goods to GA. Every in-person contact was great, however the online experience seemed somewhat inefficient and cumbersome. The contract number(s) seemed to change frequently, as did the prices (although not drastically). But overall, it was a good experience, and U-haul definitely delivered everything as promised, and at the agreed upon dates and times. Dealing remotely, both online and via text, was a bit confusing. Messages frequently overlapped one another, which made it difficult to follow exactly what was happening at any given time. Those minor glitches aside, everything worked out exactly as planned and as agreed, so I was quite satisfied. I might (or might not) follow up later to figure out if - with all the changing contract numbers - I might have overpaid based on the terms of my original agreement. Regardless, even IF I did overpay, the total cost of moving my items from NJ to GA using the U-boxes was much less expensive than any of the other options I investigated.

IRINA L | First ImpressionsThe furniture pads/blankets take up a lot of room. I would say if they’re not needed that they can be easily picked up. The driver was only able to take back a few pads. We had our own blankets pads. Space is precious in these pods.

Only thing I wish was better was the process to get the delivery scheduled after being in storage awhile. I got transferred somewhere between 6-8 times in a 45 minute period and no one was able to find my reservation until I got to the one exact person who could help. Maybe that could be a little easier. But once it was scheduled, everything went smoothly.

When the u box arrived my husband was freaking out because the u box appeared very small. The u box is very deceiving. We couldn’t believe how much fit in it. The whole process with u box was fantastic from start to finish. U haul was on point. We even received our box almost a week earlier than we anticipated. I would highly recommend u box.

venkat vOverall I had a good experience. The boxes arrived early and scheduling for early pick up was easy. The only minor issue we ran into was trying to add on another box. They were a little smaller, I know the sizes were posted. We got quoted for another long haul ship instead of adding to our existing order as the boxes were still at the source address. We decided not to add the third box because of this.

Horrible experience for the ending .

I randomly chose this location because it popped up when the dates were unavailable at my preferred location. I wanted the install of my Mom’s trailer hitch done on a Monday and this location showed availability. I chose the style of hitch and all the parts we needed, then chose a date and time. Finalized the transaction for what I thought was a Monday, and it ended up being Tuesday. I called and spoke with Alan T. to reschedule but he said the order was already in and they would be shipping the parts soon. I told him we will figure out a way to make Tuesday work instead. I met my mom at this location on Monday afternoon to drop the car off a day early and hope it would get done at a decent time the next day, when the appointment was actually scheduled for. I was blown away by how nice, clean and modern this location was. Absolutely beautiful building, landscaping out front, and very organized on the inside. I went in and met Alan, and he was even nicer in person! We dropped the keys with him and told him we would be back tomorrow. I decided to bring Mom back a little earlier the next day so I could try and catch an earlier flight home. She did non mind waiting for her car to be ready. We pulled up at 10:30am and noticed that her car was already being worked on, which we were happy about. Not even 3 minutes after we parked, her car pulls up right next to us with the trailer hitch installed!! This was absolutely perfect timing and we were so happy that it was completed so quickly. Jeff Strauss was the gentlemen who brought her car up and was also the installer. He was super nice and even secured Mom’s exhaust pipe mount that was not attached in the middle as a courtesy! We were both so extremely pleased with everything about this U-Haul location and cannot recommend them enough! Amazing customer service and a perfect trailer installation at an affordable price!! You will not regret choosing them for all your moving and storage needs!! :-)

This form is forcing me to pick a yes or no to the question about recommended containers. The answer is really NA. I decided the number I needed. But uhaul reps were very helpful by explaining the no charge is the second container is not used policy. And that gave me much more comfort in choosing uhaul.

When we got to the uhaul in howell on rt 9 north, the movers went to place my belongings into the elevator and the elevator stopped working. The woman at the desk had no idea how to fix it and was very rude when we asked her what the alternative was since there was no other elevator. She said to “take the stairs” to the movers who had to move multiple heavy items to the THIRD FLOOR which was completely unacceptable. Because there was no one available to fix the elevator, I then had to scramble to find another storage facility and it cost me even more money because that extra wasted time had delayed the time for the movers. They made no accommodations for me whatsoever and were unprofessional in how they handled this matter.

Once Dawn explained all the security measures, he was so relieved! My only complaint is that when I called to make the reservation I specifically asked about buying my own lock and the sales person said I could bring my own. When I arrived with a newly purchased lock with extra keys made, Dawn said we had to have a round lock. Other than that, everything was great!

After waiting quite awhile, we gave up, had to leave the carts, and take the stairs. We then got stuck in the stairwell (no handles to open the door from the stairwell) and finally used the emergency exit! We then had to walk back to the bays and go back inside to get the truck. Calls to the Howell location and the main number went unanswered. Very disappointed.

Not only was the staff beyond helpful to get me into the right unit (mind you at a great price), I was treated with compassion. I wasn’t just a number. The owner herself comforted me as I cried my eyes out realizing the difficult transition I was making in life. That sense of respect and care for customers continued through my stay at Uhaul. All staff are friendly and courteous. It comes naturally to them to show they care about your experience with their business. The building itself I found beyond safe and secure, and I appreciated that knowing my “life” was in a unit. I would recommend this location over and over, and will continue to do so!!!
