Need to understand CLEARLY on The CARD check In . In order to ACCESS MY STORAGE UNIT without Any Problems … Idk.. what I didn’t understand … confused & upset I wasn’t able to Get the doors at the Loading /Unloading area to Open at all Last night .. I was bummed .. going in this morning to Solve My Not Understanding.

We were originally told the containers wouldn’t arrive until the 12th of April. Then got a notification they arrived in Owings Mills, MD in late March so asked to change our delivery date to the 9th of April as we were not arriving in PA until April 2nd. For some reason the gal said they could deliver on April 7th so I said okay. Then we were told they would arrive on the 7th between 11-1:00 PM. At 1:00 PM they called and said they weren’t coming that day, but they could bring them on the 9th so I said okay. Morning of the 8th they called and said they could bring on that day so again I said okay. They were delivered that day by a very nice lady, Rhonda. Then we got them emptied by the next day so I called the WV number as that seemed to be the contact for the place that brought them . Talked to a lady that said she would pass the info on and I would get a phone call that day from someone. No call so I called the Owings Mills MD number the next day and she said I needed to call another number, but connected me to it. I think it was the Phoenix office. Someone answered and said they could pick the pods up on Saturday the 12th and they did. The Maui group is just one office to deal with. This east coast group was very confusing and at times I had no idea where the pods were or who would be delivering them. When we contracted with U-Haul it was supposed to be delivered by the Chambersburg U-Haul place which is about 20 minutes from our Waynesboro home, but I think the came off the boat to the Owings Mills location and were delivered from there and the party that picked them up also came from there. Perhaps the Chambersburg site doesn’t deal with the pods. Other than the not knowing where the pods were on the east coast and who to communicate with about their arrival and pickup, it was a good experience

The truck/1Month storage bundle was such a great deal! Reserving a truck and unit went quick and smooth. The cashiers/receptionists were helpful and kind. Even the cleaner who does the floors in the storage halls is super sweet. I love that each unit is alarmed. The security level of having alarmed ondividual units makes swiping in for every entry worth the extra steps.

After returning the truck, I noticed several oil spots left on my driveway from engine drips. Unfortunately, I now have to take extra steps to clean this up for my landlord, and I’m concerned there may be charges for damages if it can’t be fully removed. Also, I wanted to mention that the A/C in the truck didn’t work properly during use, which made the drive uncomfortable. Lastly, in this day and age, I was surprised that a vehicle of that size wasn’t equipped with any backup cameras or sensors. That’s a safety feature I’ve come to expect in large rentals. I have to say - the staff at this location was friendly and helpful!

The truck lent to me was dysfunctional. The battery was not able to hold a charge and left us stranded multiple times. I then was charged almost 100 bucks for 15 gallons of gas, which should, at most, cost 75 dollars. I feel scammed and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Had a pickup rental, battery died, uhaul had a tow company come out and jump it, next night died again and tow company came out and tried to jump it and ended up needing to tow it, was told by uhaul we would get an uber that night so we could get another pickup, called and said they will call us first thing in the morning to get the uber set up, woke up early the next morning and waiting for a bit then I ended up calling uhaul because I haven’t heard anything from anyone! I called and nobody knew what I was talking about so had to re tell the whole story and then after a very long time it back and forth we finally got an uber to uhaul which was 45 mins away and had to go get a new pickup! Communication between uhaul was poor and def needs improvement!!

The young woman who checked me in was very friendly and the process only took a few minutes. The equipment ran well and was clean. Just what I needed for the day. The man Barrett who oversaw the return was very pleasant and the whole process ran smoothly and quickly. I highly recommend U-Haul Kahului! Thank you for being here!

Location is key and this one in Kahului was very convenient for pick up and drop off as well as near Costco for gas refill and near a Maui bus stop. The free storage for a month helps a lot and the employees were all very friendly and courteous.

Please, reposition the jack that is located by the right rear cargo door to anyplace else out of the cargo area. The stupid thing tore the covering of the things o was trying to transport in addition to being in the absolute perfect area to hinder all attempts to slide any thing remotely large into the threshold of the doors.

The milage out and fuel level were incorrect by a small amount. This was corrected professionally by the Kahului team. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The Kahului store is well stocked and offers a variety of services.

Price went from 19.95 to 99.95 totally unknown until I returned. Total rip-off. I understood the return price, including insurance and fees to be close to $45 not $116. I have used U-Haul many times but never experienced this kind of overcharging before. Shame on U-Haul!!! Very dissatisfied customer.

The first contact was with Gabriel by phone. He was superb at explaining the different options I could consider for my storage and moving truck needs. When I arrived at the store Barrett assisted me while Gabriel was assisting someone else. Barrett was very patient and helpful as well. I left that evening and returned the following morning and Gabriel once again assisted me. The other female in the store she was nice, kind and and showed interest in some follow up I needed. The woman in the storage and cart areas was also customer friendly and engaging. The store is clean and organized. All the workers were positive and motivated to engage. I'm glad I went to this facility in Kahalui.

Billing practices, rates say one thing then they bill you a totally different daily rate,($99.00 per day), from $19.00 per day. I’ll be looking elsewhere for my next rental, pricing needs to stop going up because you feel you need the extra cash😂😂😂😂

The staff was all top notch! Super customer service, helpful all along the way. But the lock wasn't working on the back and my truck was already loaded up and the manager wanted me to pull in so they could repair it but I was in a rush. The manager should have given me a free lock right away so I could just go. Like I say - the staff all understood that I was in a rush. Great customer service from them. Message to the manager: Time is money and the customer is always right.

U-Haul associates were quick and helpful despite the fact that I was a weekend walk-in customer. Their service did not waver because I did not have a reservation. They listened to my plans and contracted accordingly, saving me a ton of money. I really appreciated the way they valued my time and needs without any added stuff.

Great people at this location, aways remember my name with personal touch, the equipment was NEW with strong AC. I would prefer U-Haul NOT Include dollies & blankets automatically - you are costing me space and frustration having to remove them myself every rental and inform the staff. We picked up the van and the gas tank was EMPTY. We had to travel 60 miles to our destination. The representative showed the tank had 1/4 tank. Very disappointed. Also I needed to rent a truck for the day and also was able to get one month free in a storage unit for the items that I had just picked up. Made the transition really smooth manafortable. A/C is broken. Fan speed is stuck on high so I needed to either have it off or full blast. Otherwise everything was fine. I've used this location 3 times in the last 3 months and service is always good and friendly. Would appreciate being contacted by the GM.

The only things i would change would be a longer time the lights stay on before timing out...it could really be hazardous when you are in your unit with your belongings all around you and the lights go out...ive almost hurt myself really bad trying to maneuver out to trip the motion sensor that turns the lights back on...also i would make it so you can access your unit 24/7

The cabin smelt like smoke. When I initially got the truck the agreement was highlighted 1/4 gas. When I did my recheck it was ZERO either the light on. When I went back in the agent said they would notate that and I would get a credit back. Although I got my credit in the end after I returned the vehicle it took me 25 mins and 2 agents to fix the problem. And the check in guy repeatedly asked me the same question twice. Which makes me feel he doesn’t pay attention and not listens to the customer.

It’s amazing to me that in today’s day and age you can bill in a second but when there is a prorated refund to be had the people at the front counter, aren’t savvy enough to do it on the spot. So I am hoping and praying that in the 4 to 5 business days that they said, my refund appears.

Moved from a 10x15 to 10x10 to save money and then you raised the rate to 10$ more than 10x15 $430 a month, finally I reduced rate by going into a 10x5 for $230 and now I moved out cause U haul is a rip off greedy, taking advantage of Maui fire victims!!!

I cannot comment on the condition of the storage facility because I didn't get past the reception desk, three employees very confused nobody could complete the transaction. It shouldn't take over an hour to rent a van. I didn't rent the vehicle therefore I didn't need the unit. I will never go to that facility again because three employees were completely clueless. Corporate should drug test staff. It was a horrible experience.

HORRIBLE, I got passed btw 3 young worker, cuz no one seems to know how to do their job. I was given someone else's receipt. I didn't move in, I never got past the reception. What is worse, the manager is feet away not helping their struggling employees, hence - wasting the customer's time. This location is a disaster & needs corporate training.

Rat or mouse droppings were found all over mainly towards the back. A white plaster substance started dripping from the sealing. It must of started from the floor above and began to stick all over the stovetop. It also began sticking to expensive Hawaiian artwork which has devalued it by a huge number since it’s an original piece and not a copy. Highly unexpected and extremely disappointing.

I think that The Kahului U-Haul storage is great extremely clean and easy to understand and navigate for anyone, hours from 5am-10pm access is great. And setting up a storage was so easy the staff is helpful and honest not trying to trick you or break your bank. The prices for the units monthly might seem high but for the process start to finish and the ease of knowing your stuff is in a good place I think it’s worth it so Mahalo for the service.

We have rented trucks and dollys from this location. We have always had excellent service. Just recently we found ourselves needing a storage unit. We toured the facility; it is impeccably kept. The agent that assisted us in picking the proper size unit was Makenzie. Makenzie was very knowledgeable about the facility and gave us great comfort that we are choosing the best spot to store our items. As we’re moving closer to our moving date we visited the facility to finalize details. Sherry was multitasking and handling each guest as if they were her only guest. Attention to detail and friendly as well as quick. While we had a few technical issues signing up for our unit while in store Sherry followed through with us as the day progressed. We’ll be moving in next week. Top notch service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It would be very convenient if I had 24 hours access. I work most of the hours you’re open, which leaves me only an hour or 2 to sort and down size my belongings. Also the charge per mile is too high, it almost makes the month free not worth it.

Just a friendly reminder, front customer staff should share customer communication or make Notes on clients account, before calling especially on joint account users, avoid confusion. Using the drive up “car” service, very helpful convenient. But it seems any car could enter platform (even with a car existing in spot) leaving open a few minutes before closing. Point-leaving personal property exposed/open when one is moving about (un)loading in facility. Maybe door should not open if a car is in position, to secure other person’s property. Otherwise Excellent Services when needed. No other place with great price and customer service! Mahalo Sherry and Staff!

The U-Haul in Maui has a new facility! First time user and it was great! Very easy online app that works most of the time. Had an earlier glitch when I first signed up but after that was great. Sherry the manager there is an excellent. She is knowledgeable and professional. Really enjoyed working with her to get the right storage size and products for my recent move.

I’m concerned about the lack of security when there is only hog wire for the ceiling of the unit. It can be easily clipped and the unit accessed without alarming a door.

I could not lock my unit. The locking mechanism did not work. Some of the locking mechanisms in nearby vacant units seemed ok. I wasted a lot of time going back & forth to the office trying to fix this problem. Finally someone in the office escorted me to my unit & “unstuck” the stuck mechanism. To avoid future problems of this nature, please have your staff check & verify that all locking mechanisms work properly OR have a staff member escort a new customer to their unit to ensure everything is ok. I also wasted a lot of time locating my storage unit. Another new customer took the time to help me. We wandered around for a while in the maze of storage units. Having a large customer friendly diagram posted inside would have made it easier. I had to pull down the door of other units to find mine. Also, I requested a unit closest to the door. Manager Sherry informed me that everyone wants a unit closest to the door & policy is to start from the back. I disagree. First come; first served. Can you switch my unit to a vacant one closest to the front entrance? I am a senior & that would be a big help. I want to get in & out of my storage unit quickly, efficiently, & safely. Thank you for listening to my concerns. Appreciate the good customer service from your staff during the past two weeks when I went in several times to secure a storage unit. Looking forward to your response.

I have had to relocate for work a lot (construction management) and have rented many storage units over the years and this was the best experience I have ever had. I also rented a cargo van and they took such good care of me. I really appreciate it and will be happy doing business with U-Haul going forward because of your wonderful team in Kahului Maui. The facility is clean (spotless), the manager and customer service agents are all so kind and helpful and I feel good knowing my tools and belongings are safely stored. The van is also in excellent condition and I may opt to rent it longer if allowed because it is such a good vehicle and helpful during my move from Oahu to Maui.

It’s a beautiful facility and convenient however these are my two concerns: 1) when I reserved online it stated a first floor unit but when I came to finalize the unit it was a second floor and the answer was that they did not update the website so I received a second floor unit despite reserving first floor request 2) it took quite a while to figure out where the unit was and how to access it. We were fine with the storage and instore customer service. We did experience issues the way Uhaul conducted business. When we first moved in we rented a 15' truck with 2 furniture dollys. A year later I get a late payment notice for $28 + $30 late fee for non payment of the dollys, mind you all this was done during the rental of the truck which we had no issue, just the dollys, the rental process made it look like we were the bad person. I paid that via phone conversation. The move out process was simple and quick. However we were told uhaul does not prorate the rental fees. We had over 16 days left or approximately $139 which I feel should have been reimbursed but could not. This made decision gave uhaul a poor rating. Uhaul keeps peoples money and profits and prey on people. Shame!

I cleaned out my storage space in due time to not be charged any further. I took picture and I sent an email confirming that I had moved out and taken pictures. I also requested a move out several days prior to my scheduled departure, which was granted. I was charged another full month rent on my card. I called to address the issue with the facility, no answer and no voicemail available. I called the "800" number on the website. I waited on hold for a long time to speak with someone, then I waited on hold a long time while someone verified my information, my move out date, etc. The representative from Uhaul I spoke with told me that she verified my account would not be charged, she also verified that I would get an email stating that I would be refunded and not charged. My account has not been refunded, I have not received any communication from Uhaul whatsoever concerning the $200 they took from me that violates our contract agreement. Corporations are happy to take your money, but when it is time for them to do what is right, admit their faults and refund payments they unrightfully took without permission, consent or any right whatsoever the consumer is the one that must sacrifice their time, energy and emotions to get what is owed to them. Uhaul has clearly demonstrated they are no different than any other Giant. My family has lost nearly everything, I have lost my life work, we are facing eviction and homelessness due to a natural disaster that occurred and wrecked our economy. Instead of Uhaul being an asset to the community of Maui, this is how they operate, adding more stress, more debt, more unjust, more unaccountable actions, its sad that Uhaul just cannot do what is right and refund the payment they stole and send me an email confirming that my money has been returned, along with an apology for wasting so much of my time and holding my money hostage while my family suffers the most tragic times that are unimaginable.

The digital components were slow and awkward, but the people were persistent and will no doubt make the digital side more effective and professional. The space I was lucky enough to get - a newly vacated 5x10, was not 8’ high, but only 6’. The 10’ piece l wanted to store was a coupe inches too long, so I had to walk it back to the truck and take it elsewhere; that was annoying. And while a 4’x8’ piece of plywood WOULD fit inside if it went in early in the packing-in process, I couldn’t even get it through the less-than-4’-wide door to the space. But other than those irritations, the people/process/facility were first rate. My extra stuff is in good hands for the time being. Thank you. P.S. My heart app on my phone told me I set a new record for # of steps: almost 20,000!!!

Overall, the facility was clean, and the personnel were nice. One visit, there were dead cockroaches on the ground (I counted five on the walk to my unit) and some of the younger staff aren’t as knowledgeable or personable as they should be. The key remote/swipe card changeover lead to some complications that could have been avoided with a little more effort on the U-Haul rep’s part. It’s sometimes difficult to get a hold of the personnel on the phone at this location; and the national call line doesn’t have Hawaii – specific answers, but overall, U-Haul Daiiry Rd. In Kahului was a good experience.

In the short time I rented space the prices went up significantly and then upon the check out which was 4 days into the new month I found out that they do not do any prorated refunds so I am being charged for the full month. This is the first facility that has not prorated a refund. I would suggest not using this company.

U-Haul Self Storage met my needs for temporary storage while we downsized. Convenient hours and a clean, secure, well-lit unit we’re appreciated. The “split-level” unit description was a bit deceiving though. Ground and 2nd floor levels more accurately describe it. Staircases are steep so a ramp would make hand truck use easier. Otherwise I would definitely rent again and recommend to a friend. 👍🏼

I have had one awesome experience after another, total 4 for 4, 100%!! Every interaction with every person has been great! Whenever I needed something, they had an answer, had what I needed or knew where to get it. Even when I needed something but didn't ask, someone miraculously showed up and helped or had a suggestion. I can't get over just how "on it" they are. There's not much fun in moving - but the location, the variety of equipment, the retail sales, the self storage, price and of course the incredible staff, make this an experience that's as easy, efficient and pain-free as it's going to get. 5 Stars!!!!

I wanted to load into a UBox when I arrived they had none available 12/11/22. So I had to rent a space to store until on was available. I asked to be contacted when one became available. No one ever called me. It came down to the end of my storage as I was moving off island1/27/23 . I was given a phone number for the uBox. Called 5 times. No one answers and you are on hold forever. I ended up using another Carrier to ship my things back to the mainland.

Love that you added the openers for the car doors. Did NOT like the inner sliding door opens automatically once inside. This eliminated a double security that we would have preferred to keep. This made me uncomfortable when I came alone.

Booking the moving truck and storage went well. I had no problems with service, accessibility, and rate. The person who checked us in was kind and knowledgeable. After loading the moving truck in Kihei, we drove back expecting to be able to enter our rented storage unit our access was not programmed correctly and we were not able to unload the truck. This really affected my move-out schedule, not only did we have to drive back to Kihei with a loaded truck but now we would have to go and return and unload the next day. When we returned the next day, I explained the situation to the woman who was working. She got up and shipped the card and said" well ... it is working now..." without any explanation, or promise of refund for having to keep the truck, and milage that was through no fault of our own. After leaving the office very dissatisfied we tried to pull the truck into the garage to no avail- a random person let us in. After setting the alarm off that same person came and asked if the clicker was working and fixed it for us. The 4 1/2 hours it took unloading the truck because of the homeless people who were coming in and out looking for anything that was not locked made moving difficult. People in the garage doing who knows what inside of their running car for hours, A homeless man with a swipe card, who would walk through the inside of the storage facility and then sat in the parking lot- right next to my daughter's car/ the parking lot was empty it was horrible. ill move first chance i get

We experienced excellent customer service. However the facility has a very dangerous post located just outside the double doors of the storage area. When we moved in one of us tripped on it and caught our foot on the post and hit our head on the glass door. Then we saw another customer trip over the same dangerous post. They should be removed immediately.
