We finished moving out of the storage unit on a Saturday night after 7:00 pm business closing time. I was told to call in to report the move out date, which I did n Sunday. Rent would have been due Monday. Later that week I received an email notifying me of the late fee for missing rent payment. I called the Cedar U-Haul and (presumably) resolved the problem. Need better communication between call centers and individual businesses. The folks at the Cedar location are excellent.

This has nothing to do with HLN station. They were great. I had made a reservation for truck/trailer to pick up in BZN several weeks before. Then, 24 hrs before my flight departure to BZN, I was told no trucks available in BZN. So flew to HLN to pick up truck/trailer. Drove to BZN. Saw that they had plenty of 10' trucks available in BZN. The agent offered extra miles, extra day, $150 discount which I was grateful for. An improvement could be to perhaps review availability much sooner when a vehicle or trailer is not available. I will continue to use Uhaul, but that experience got my travel experience off to a rough start.
PAUL VMake sure that the vehicle is properly maintained and doesn't smell like manure. Also, I was charged for two days when I returned it after one day because of the issues the vehicle was having. The person working when I returned it said it was already overdue for maintenance when they rented it to me. This is completely unacceptable and I want my money back.

First thing she blurted out was dont unhook it, youll need to park it for me over by the trailers because im not dragging this thing myself.... that was a surprise, never had to do that before but thats fine I can help out. The entire time she was checking in the trailer she didnt say a word to me where it will be parked. She told me head over there so i did. I pulled into a row and apparently it was the wrong one. She then proceeded to talk to me like im beneath her... and said you need to back it into this row. Thats when i said nope, ill drop it right here and that she can take care of it herself.
NIKOLAY KThe manger, Clay Ettinger, runs a very friendly and efficient operation. He maintains his facility in a manner that keeps it looking and operating like new. I have had two separate storage units at this facility over the past year and every time has been nothing short of an excellent experience. I will store here again if ever needed.

LEEANNA TRented a U-Haul to move out of my storage unit and the employee read the gas gauge wrong. So when I drove a total of 11 miles and then put gas in it, I was still charged $25 because they stated I used a quarter of a tank to go 11 miles. The female employee that checked me out of my storage unit was extremely rude and disrespectful. I have rented a storage unit and for U-Hauls from that location within the last two and a half years and never had an issue. I will definitely be using a different company altogether.

After waiting more than 10 minutes, I get out and walk in store for help, think there may be a long line of customers, but there was no customer’s inline. So, I asked the guy for help. He was sitting there staring at his phone. I did not catch his name, because I was upset about the customer service and I did not want to lose my temper. He assisted me after I got his attention.
JESSE MIt took a long time to find an attendant and when I did, he didn't give me any paperwork or confirmation that my trailer had been returned.
JESSICA CI rent six, 26-foot uhauls every year for an event I put on in Great Falls, MT and I'm based in Coeur d'Alene, ID so I have to haul everything there and back. Not only were my trucks filthy, which is frustrating since I'm hauling fine art, but when I make a reservation, I expect the trucks be available and ready for my reservation. I was notified the day of the reservation, that I needed to drive 99 miles there and then back to my original location to pick up trucks for my reservation. That is unacceptable! Then, I was given the necessary additional mileage, so when I returned home, you tried to charge me for the extra miles which YOU forced me to drive. Needless to say, I've always had pretty good experiences with Uhaul until now, and will look at my other options next year like Penske.
DUNG LMaybe work on the U-haul payment system - it was a bit difficult to get it to accept my debit card. Otherwise great service and friendly people.

When I talked to the representative there, He personally assured me that the truck I was renting would pull a trailer with a small van on it. He assured me that it had a 2 5/16 inch ball on it and there was a place on the bumber to put another ball. When I got there the next day, he told me I needed a bigger truck, and it had the ball I needed. When I got to my location, the truck did not have the right ball, nor could I find anywhere to put one on. When I got back to the store, He showed me where I could put a Receiver Hitch on. This might have worked except for 2 reasons: 1. I was not told I would need to bring one and He couldn't provide one, 2. Even if I had brought a receiver, the hole for the receiver was 18 inches deep. Also tghere was nowhere for me to put the retaining pin, In my belief it was unusable. I am not pleased at all with your product or your service.

When customer asked if "I would be dinged if I rent for only one month," staff replied by saying, "I don't know." This is a good company, with more than likely a good manager. Yet my experience was shaped by staff that did not demonstrate a skill set of product knowledge and customer helpfulness.

Black ash/charcoal stuff was everywhere, someone contact lenses, nails and screws and metal hardware all over the floor, it was just a mess. I was there at 7 a.m. and the first one there, so this had been left from the day before and the following day the mess was less but still there. The hall was pretty clean. The lighting is a bit freaky when you are alone in the back side hall. It flips off and you have to go out and move about to get the lights back on. Access is a definite issue for me, I was there at 6 a.m. and the garage did not open until someone was in the office at 7 a.m which made things harder. The sliding door appeared stuck open for three days. When I rented, I was told I could access anytime and instead I found out I could only access when the office was opened. However * see below*. Sunday I had to wait until the office opened to even get in my unit. I was there at 6 a.m. and then at 7 a.m. and still no access I came back at 9 and could finally get in. Using the garage is dicey. It is lick of the draw. I pulled up and some camping/moving van, which the next day I saw parked in the parking lot, sat in the garage for 4 and 1/2 hours or better. I got there at 1 it was there and came back at 5 and it was still there. Both garages had the same vehicles in them and the next morning that ash/charcoal stuff was everywhere. I will say prior to this one experience it was usually clean. My biggest issue was the rent increase and not able to access unit. * Seeing the sliding door wide open for three days was not the most comforting. It explains the access issue, if that is the case well done uhaul. Yes, inconvenient but shows they care and are aware there was a door issue and that they have an eye on people's property entrusted to them in the units. The staff is great. The check out guy was amazing. Very personable and eager to help. Clay waited on me several times and was awesome. The young gal when I first got the unit not so great. I saw the mouse bait box so I asked is there a mice infestation. The unit I had in Idaho while I was in college; had a mice infestation and I swore never again, so after seeing that box - I am going to ask and she got huffy and said "well this is montana". A simple no its a precaution would have been enough, did not need or appreciate the snark. Overall I think it is a great place to have a unit, it is a bit pricey, which is why I left, that and access. I needed to upgrade and the price I was paying for a 5x7, when I went somewhere else that I could access unit 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. and it is indoor climate controlled. Went into a 5x10 that is cheaper than the Uhaul 5x7. Suggestions I could give is add more garages on the end by the post office. That back hall is a ways away and it is creepy back there. Change access to the swipe card to get to use garage, instead of access garage and then swipe card, it would allow for access beyond the office hours.

For 3 weeks leading up to our actual local move, we put things like artwork, lamps, faux flower arrangements, taxidermy, etc into it. A few days after our actual move day with our UHaul truck, we carefully moved those delicate items out of our storage unit and closed the “rental”. Folks there were extremely helpful. We would recommend these nice indoor climate controlled storage units to anyone needing a clean, secure place to store their belongings.
