The truck skipped on and off had to pay neighbors to come and haul my stuff i didnt want to risk being broke down with my whole home in it. Felt like it has water in tank or bad gas run good for a few minutes then skip for several mile then good then skipped alot

The truck was an older model truck the heavy set guy I guess he’s the manager was very rude also, I got home to pack my dolley that I paid for was not in the truck and when I called back they couldn’t find my reservation for it he kept saying it wasn’t there that’s not it!!! I use to love renting from them the older workers was nicer I’m not sure if they still are there, but he needs better customer service skills.

I had my storage unit for over 10 years and paid on time every single month. I broke my foot and was out of work making me late paying the storage unit one time by 5 days and the facility threatened to cut the lock and sell items at auction. My storage rent also increased by over $50 in the last year for absolutely no reason. These two occurrences prompted me to remove and clean out unit immediately.

You can start by having the equipment at the locations you say you have it. You can not try to charge bogus cleaning fees when the truck was dirty before the customer got it.

The lady serving me was very helpful, informative, and friendly! Good customer service is definitely important, but it goes both ways. Being respectful and understanding as a customer to the employees working for you helps them in helping you. I felt they did everything they could to get me the vehicle I needed, and I am grateful for both their professionalism and friendliness!

The reservation required you to have a credit card on file so it could charge you when you picked up your truck. When I got to the store to pick it up after reserving it, it wouldn’t let me use my credit card because it’s through Chime. Nowhere on the website does it say, chime isn’t an acceptable card. I was told I could pay in cash but it would be $100 more to do it that way. It was completely unnecessary when I chose to do it all digital and then had to go inside the store, pick the key up and pay with ANOTHER card. Also the lady told me it had to be a credit card but when I called corporate they said credit or debit is fine.

Paying for the rental turned in to a complete headache. As I am writing this it has been over the 3-5 day limit to be charged. Presently the card I put on file was charged several times and that was over the contract amount but thankfully they were cleared up on my first call about the charges. However, the card I used to make the purchase was initially charged $21 and then when the situation with the other card cleared up (after getting a call from the location and being told it was being handled) I was overcharged over $80. Upon my third call with Uhaul I am praying the situation gets resolved. The good thing is everyone was kind and friendly. As a first time customer though, I was not happy with the financial part of the rental and will not recommend or rent from Uhaul again.

I moved out late in the evening after office hours and forgot to call the office to let them know. They called me the next business day after seeing my unit empty to verify I had moved out and closed out my account. I moved to Talladega from Chicago, experiencing all of the unexpected surprises of moving. The non-Uhaul storage facility I had prepaid and prescheduled in Talladega was NOT accessible and I found myself stuck. I found this UHaul facility in Oxford and they were extremely accommodating, helpful, and kind. Someone called me from this uhaul business in Oxford, AL to say that they couldn’t pay on time.~This information was recorded for my unit and I was called about not paying~The employee put this call on my account & I DID NOT MAKE THIS CALL OR REQUEST. My experience with UHaul blew all of my expectations away! We first met Theresa Shonebarger when we returned a truck. I had just moved from Atlanta and I was using a different, local storage facility. Right away, I knew I needed to get on the waitlist for a storage unit. Within a week or two, Theresa called me with the good news! We gladly moved our things to our new unit. The unit was clean, the move in was incredibly easy, but most importantly, the staff at the Oxford facility is AMAZING! Theresa's kindness and care are exceptional! It is so hard moving, but my interaction with her truly improved my spirits on a very difficult day! She naturally exudes light! And I can see it reflect on her staff! Every person we interacted with showed kindness and care! Honestly, I was a bit bluesy when it was time to clear out unit and move on. I will miss Theresa and her members! You have a rare gem with her... I wish more managers had her positive attitude and heart for others! She genuinely cares about her customers, and it shows! If we ever need to rent a truck or rent a storage place again, we definitely know where we are going! Our experience was such a wonderful and positive one!

I have to say, moving from state to state is a nightmare in itself. However, the staff at the location in Oxford, AL on Hamric Drive is the best of your stores out of 4 we had the pleasure of working with. Mrs Theresa in Oxford is an absolute Rockstar! We always noticed her diligence tending to customers and always with a cheerful disposition. She is always buzzing around that lot cleaning, fixing, and helping folks loading or dropping off equipment. I hope your company knows how lucky you are to have employees like her! We had multiple units at this facility for two years while building a home. There were no incidents the entire time and the staff was phenomenal. Everything was secure and nothing was ruined. Ive been in several times for packing materials and rented a unit 2 days ago. As I moved all of my items out of storage, I was also very sick in the process. I called and spoke with customer service about closing my account and they told me I would need to go and remove the lock from my storage or that someone would be able to cut it open. The representative was aware that I needed to close my storage account but that I could not make it within that week to close it. She stopped automatic payments so that I would not be charged for the month or any months following and I explained I would be able to provide the keys once I was well. I let the local building know about my conversation with customer service explaining that I could not come and provide keys. Soon after, a global pandemic arises and I am still not well at the time that charges are being threatened to the account. I would have paid had I not spoke with customer service so that I would not be charged. This location was well aware as I had also spoken with someone at the location the day I removed all of my belongings. Moving on my own, having a disease and working full time, I did not have time that day to close the account, hence my reason for calling customer service. Not only was the end of my experience terrible, but also the beginning. I have had problems with the truck I first used to move not being ready when it came time for me to move, so I had to postpone the start of my move due to negligence by U-Haul. I have paid for equipment and not received it, I have also paid for having a truck longer than scheduled when I only had it for the scheduled amount of time. I have paid for gas that I did not need to pay for because a meter is damaged on one of the trucks. The list goes on, and I am also still receiving a $200+ bill for an empty storage space. This location has been terrible from the start and I refuse to recommend or use them ever again. I will eventually call customer service to try and resolve the payment issue, but I truly do not deserve what I have been through with U-Haul. Added stress during my move and sickness, and charging me 3x what I would pay for the storage that is empty is not worth coming back to any business. They made my moving experience terrible and I am so disappointed.

The staff were always friendly, although at times it was hard to get someone on the phone. The rats there, though? Y’all need to tell people about them. I had quite a bit of things destroyed, that had to be thrown away, either because it had been chewed through or because it was covered in rat feces. I would never use this facility again, and would never suggest you to a friend or family member, for that very reason. Also - the two late fees policy is terrible. The staff at the facility was great, and they are your saving grace.

Although the facility is well-maintenace & clean, I experienced no leniency if payment was late. I was never 30 days late and experienced two $15 late fees + a $50 lien fee.
