I pointed to an appliance dolly, and they told me that would just be more money. I feel like I lost faith in humanity after my experience at this store.
tyson hI was scolded for only filling to 7/8 when the tank was supposedly full. It was not. I took a picture. I did not forward it at the time since I was very late leaving after there was a mixup with dispatch (my van was given away and I had to wait 30 minutes for a re-dispatch). Anyway, I explained that although I filled the tank to full, and the pump shut off, the gauge only said 7/8. The clerk scolded me saying "next time we will charge you since you should have told us when you picked it up". My question, as a frequent good customer, is why didn't the attendant know the gauge read low on the previous dropoff? Not a great way to treat a long-time loyal customer.
DAVID KCheck the tire pressure before releasing vehicle. I had to ask a friend to bring my front right tire up from 27psi. Alert stayed on throughout my rental period because his little cigarette lighter powered unit was not adequate.

Darryl MI reserved a van but it was not available. I was told the van I had preserved had not yet been returned by the previous customer. I ended up having to drive a 10-ft truck, which was not what I had planned.

I made a reservation a week prior to my move, only to find out on the day of my move that the handtruck I reserved, was actually "first come, first served." No one told me that when I made the reservation. And then because I was on the phone calling Home Depot and other rental places trying to rent hand trucks and didn't answer my phone, the Northgate location moved my reservation to the 165th location -- who also COULD NOT fulfill my reservation. So then I had to drive 60 blocks further north than I had planned, and still had to rent hand trucks. I began my move 2 HOURS later than anticipated. But if that wasn't enough, I then essentially had to self-check myself in with my phone -- even though I was standing in your store supposedly being "helped" by one of your employees. WORST MOVE EVER! I will NEVER rent from U-Haul again.

I had to call and wait on hold for a little bit. But... the gal that helped, walked me through it had the patience of a saint. She was super friendly and helpful (i'm not the best with technology). She deserves a raise. Your app deserves 0 stars. Please fix it!

John VThe center console of the truck I rented had some sticky stuff on it and it smelled of cigarettes. A little more cleaning detail would have been nice. But the staff were excellent and the experience overall was great, so I'd definitely rent a truck there again.

Stephen GHere’s a more polished and impactful version of your review: --- I had a very disappointing experience with U-Haul. Unfortunately, a significant portion of my furniture arrived damaged due to poor packing. My chairs are scratched, the bookshelf and nightstands are visibly damaged, and my dresser arrived with multiple holes—clearly not handled with proper care. In addition, my boxes were delivered four days later than expected, and communication throughout the process was extremely frustrating. I received conflicting information from different channels—automated emails continued to confirm the original delivery date, while customer service chats provided completely different timelines. It was nearly impossible to get a clear or reliable answer. Overall, this was a very poor experience. I would not recommend this service and would not use it again.

David HThe front desk guy was rude and disrespectful- Each time I tried to check out the small open trailer he would stop the process and let the next person with a reservation go before me - He did it at least 3 times- I was patient but annoyed- I wasted so much time I was late for my meeting. Even though my son checked the trailer at least 5 times prior with same and same everything still asking the same questions. I had to go get the truck manual to show the weight rating- Very disappointed

NATHAN LWhen we went to collect the truck on the 29th March and were processed, we noticed gas cap was not closed, and we were told that it was a full tank of gas. We took a photo of the gas cap and the fuel was not quite full, but decided to continue as there was a long line at the desk with people to collect their trucks. Upon returning the truck that afternoon my husband filled up the truck and it cost us 20.00 for a 13 mile trip. I had spoken to the gentlemen at the front desk about this, he was the one who checked us in that morning, but he said it will be fine if you have a photo of the truck not being full. When my husband arrived that afternoon another gentleman checked us back in outside. I approached the original gentlemen from that morning and he said since we had checked the truck in from outside he was unable to adjust the fuel cost.
Sue MI originally reserved the equipment for a round-trip at the drop-off location. Upon pick-up I was told the previous client had not returned the equipment I had reserved and therefore this location eventually had to cancel my reservation. Before the cancellation, I spoke with the store 3 times before the store closed to discuss the status of the equipment. Each time I was told I would receive a phone call with the status. No one ever reached out to me. The only communication I received was an email cancellation. The staff did not attempt to to help me find similar equipment at another location. Instead I went online myself and found a one-way option. It was not ideal as it cost me more than double the original rental cost. I've since been told I'm not eligible for the cancellation guarantee. I'm disappointed with the lack of customer service.

My only issue was that the communications we received beforehand emphasized that we were not to park a car in the lot while picking up/dropping off the cargo van we were renting, but there were several spaces out front and we saw other customers parking there. I get that they do not want you to leave your personal vehicle there, but it would be better if the messaging just said that, not that you can't park there.

Fred AThe person who waited on us was just not very competent and could not enter the information correctly and could not figure out why the final cost was so high. He kept blaming it on the system until he called the UPS people to ask is they had changed their prices and they told him he had entered our duration wrong. He continued to blame the system and would not let the other customer service agent help him. In addition, he kept stopping to do other things rather than complete our order. The other agent was able to help someone who came in after us and we were still trying to get our truck. I found out that the other agent is Matthew when we returned our truck and he is the only person we will deal with if we ever have to use this uhaul location again. I wish we had worked with him from the beginning.
Johnetta MThe app did not perform correctly. Parts worked, taking photos of the vehicle did not. The excellent staff fixed the issue manually -only costing me about an extra 15-20 minutes of my 4 - hour rental. Will rent again from uhaul HOPEFULLY with an app that actually works. Reward your staff - they kept the customer.

HUI-MIN HC we were helped very quickly and were directed to items that we didn’t even know were available for rent like the totes and the dolly. It made our move so quick and much easier than we had thought it would be in the pouring rain.

BRIAN MWell, they told me to fill the gas tank. I only went 9 miles and I put 15/15 dollars with a gas in it. Need to check those meters a little bit better and the outside of it was pretty dirty and the transmission on the van seemed a little wonky it was like surging and making noises.
DAVID KMy only complaint is that twice I have rented a pickup truck and it has had a strong smell of cigarettes. I have had to drive with the windows down so that I don't get a headache. Customer service was perfect, and other than the cigarette smell, everything is always in perfect working order.
