The gentleman was very helpful in all aspects. He was extremely busy and had no help there but he handled everything very professionally. Definitely needs a raise and is a keeper.

There is a very large newer U-Haul location with a huge inventory and storage units a mile from my home and U-Haul always sends me to a location further away. I realize that some locations that are smaller may not always have inventory but this has happened 3 times in my last 4 rentals both as a walk in ( once) and 3 with a reservation.

David HI use this location ALL the time. Brandon is very helpful and I always have a great experience here. HOWEVER...my original drop off location was Allcell Repair, which is 1/2 hour drive from my house. St. Petersburg did not ask me where I wanted to drop the trailer, he just told me to take it to Allcell, as they were "supposed" to have after hours drop off. They DO NOT. I arrive to find a locked gate, 4 trailers on their lot with 3' tall grass. The place is a hole in the wall and looks abandoned. So I'm sitting on the side of the road with traffic flying past me at 60-70 MPH with my 6 year old daughter in my vehicle, trying to get Uhaul customer service on the phone to change the drop off location. I decide to head towards home while I'm still on hold. A representative finally answers and changes the drop off to South Ocala just as I'm pulling in their lot at 4:50. They close at 5:00. Brandon was STILL helpful and he unloaded the trailer for me and checked it in. Again, I'm VERY HAPPY with South Ocala, but Allcell is a desolate dump and needs to be removed from your locations. I not only wasted an hour of my time, but also 1/4 tank of gas to drive there and back. I am extremely upset about being set up to drop at Allcell.

Once I realized our original unit was not going to be sufficient, she changed our unit to a bigger one even though it was a little past closing time as she was still moving trucks around the parking lot. However, there were a few issues with your storage area: The bathrooms at the main office: one was locked and inaccessible; the second was available but had no toilet paper and was very messy. Our original storage unit was in the second section of climate controlled storage. Neither of the doors to access those units opened completely due to the concrete buckling, making it very difficult to take items through the doors, and making the carts you provide basically unusable because of this. One of the carts was also missing a wheel, making it difficult to use. It was a very frustrating trial to attempt to load or unload anything into this section.

We are going through hardship due to my husband having a bad accident at work and we asked to allow us to pay weekly which it was explained to us that only the manager can allow payments but the manager never got back to us not by phone or email. Staff members sit in the office at times on their phones and the office phone would be ringing off the hook and they don’t make the slightest effort to answer it. We rented for a year and not even once did they answer the phone even though I called for days, weeks and months and had to be transferred to their answering service. We will never use this Uhaul location again and we will let everyone know about their horrible service and experience.

Juan S | First ImpressionsWe have rented a covered 50' storage unit for the last 5+ years at this facility for our rather expensive motorhome. Prior to the current Manager/Owner, Brandon, the facility was kept in good condition and management was responsive to tenant's concerns. Since this new management took over the outside gravel storage area's condition has deteriorated with water & mud filled potholes prevalent all over the grounds and especially where our MH is stored. Using our space has created deep, water & mud filled ruts where the gravel has been compacted and all around our MH and throughout the covered areas there is slime and algae that is dangerously slippery and keeps our camper and tires filthy as well as being a health/safety hazard. A good amount of the time the gates are broken or not locked at night, so the area is not secure 24hrs. I have several times requested, both in person to Brandon and his staff as well as via email to him for more gravel & algae/weed control for our space to remedy some of these safety and performance issues and have been completely ignored or told that he would "look into it". During one of my discussions with him, while some new gravel was being put in the general driving areas several months ago, he informed me that he would "check with Corporate" to see if they'd buy some; there's been no response or action on that request either! Over the last couple of years the rent has gone up while the condition and management of this facility has gone down. YES, this is the most reasonable cost for a covered boat and motorhome/camper storage facility in the area BUT it is the worst condition facility of this type I've seen in the area with the most unresponsive management I've found and highly recommend you not do business here until changes are made. We are glad to be gone and wish all the other tenants "good luck"!

We arrived in the morning to pick up the 17' truck and rent the 10'x30' unit at a far lower price. I was pleasantly surprised to get the first month FREE! The gentleman who handled renting me the truck and storage unit was very helpful and explained the process efficiently. Who's Moving? Was also professional and did a great job loading and unloading the truck in 3 amazing hours including travel time! LaToya took care of the.logistics and Ronald and Devin were fantastic in loading, unloading, and taking care with my items. My experience with U-Haul was wonderful. I will highly recommend them to friends and relatives. I will make sure to post my pleasant U-Haul experience for my 3,700+ Facebook friends to view.

They finally put new gravel down but didn’t fill in the huge holes with dirt first so they still flood and then the nasty chalky water splashes all over the boat. There’s a homeless guy that definitely lives onsite in an old rv. Staff is seemingly useless and has no care for customer service. All these factors and the rate still increases every year. It is now not worth the cheaper price, which is why I’ve moved out.

You have to go through the main U-Haul number which means sitting on hold for at least 30 minutes each time. Once the unit was cleared and empty, they still charged my card for the next month. The only way it was reversed was by filing a dispute.. When we rented the unit in August we had to go to the office repeatedly because the door would not open correctly. I also used U-Haul in May from St. Augustine to Northport, AL. I returned the truck with the correct amount of fuel in Northport, AL, but they still charged me a gas fee. That took 2 months of my time to get straightened out. Try Penske.

Karen G | Overall ExperienceFor those of us who work long hours in a day, our ability to get to our storage unit sometimes extends in to the evening. Having early evening restrictions allowing us to visit our storage unit was aggravating. 7:00 pm closures was the norm for the longest period of time. Only this past week did I learn from an employee that the hours were extended until 10:00 pm. I was never told that the hours had changed from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The ironic part, I was vacating my unit this week when I learned of this. On the evening of the 15 of September I stopped at the office to let someone know that my storage unit was vacated and cleaned. There was a sign on the door that who ever was on duty was helping someone out on the grounds and a phone number was given to call. I called that phone number and I got what I call the U-Haul National desk. It took for ever for someone to finally help me, only to disconnect my call before I could tell them why I was calling. Again, another 15 to 20 minutes of waiting for the U-Haul National desk. Now I know the number that was printed on the door sign on the evening of the 15th is the number for that specific U-Haul location at 5555 S. Pine Ave Ocala, Florida as I have had that number logged in to my phone contacts since September 16th 2012. When I dial that number I specifically want to talk to that location and "Not" U-Haul National. I want a brief 30 second / 1:00 minute conversation instead of 20 minutes on hold only to be disconnected. I have tried to call that same number numerous times each day now since the night of the 15th and nobody ever answers the phone at that location. I keep getting U - Haul National. One final thought - Please mention to someone to look in to changing the recorded message for U-Haul National. It's annoying! Nobody wishes to hear, Thank you for calling U-Haul, Thank you for calling U-Haul, Thank you for calling U-Haul repetitively. Thank you, Bob Myers Unit 126

I went into the office and explain to them that I need a trailer to rent and will be leaving their facility the next day. The gentleman working the desk looked up my account, help me with the reservations of the trailer I needed and told me it would be no problem leaving the next day to make sure I have a staff member check the unit to verify it is cleaned out when I am done before I leave. The following day around 3:00 I cleaned out the storage unit and rented a trailer from them. the lady who checked me out told me that I owe for one more month because I should have cleared out the day before. I explained to her I was in the day before and the man at the desk told me it would be no problem she informed me that I owe the money and that there's nothing she can do about it and didn't really care. Then she helped me with finalizing the trailer rental and hooking it up. she must have a death wish or was poorly trained, because she tried to stand between my large truck and the trailer to back me up I asked her not to stand there and she gave me some feedback saying she had had to do it way,this is how she was trained. I told her that if my foot slipped off the brake or I accidentally hit the accelerator it would crush her and I am not backing up with her behind my truck. after further discussion I finally convinced her to move out from behind my truck. Then I had a disconnect her trailer because she didn't give me time to lubricate the ball on my hitch. After everything was hooked up I checked the tire pressure on the trailer tires. They were all low the pressure was below 50 lb on each tire with a rating of 65 lb cold tire pressure. when I brought this to her attention she told me that there was an air station inside their fence and that I can fill it up myself. I understand it's not her job to get the trailers rent ready and then if they're indicated rent ready she would expect them to be. But once a defect is found I would expect her to help fix it. Or rent me a different trailer. Not a good overall experience.

Aside from that - the facility is pretty disappointing. We move around quite a bit due to our work and have had storage units at different locations all up and down the coast and the unit we have at this location is without a doubt the worst we've ever had. The inside of the unit is old, run down with graffiti on the walls, the concrete is cracked, the steel girders have completely oxidized and there is actually a "RAT POISON" trap in the unit. I was so disappointed upon opening the door to the unit that had we not been moving for three days I would have left and found somewhere else to go.

However, when I was able to reach her she was easy to work with. The facilities were clean, but may be in need of some grading due to wash out from heavy rain. Lastly, the bay I rented was supposed to have electricity. The main breakers and/or gfi outlet was often tripped and not working and they put out locked timer boxes (I was told they were only on 3 hours per day). I only needed electricity to keep my RV batteries charged but 3 hours is not enough time. The low voltage alarm was alway ls in my RV so helpfully they can add more time to the timers. Otherwise, fair prices and a good experience. I will definitely rent there again if I have storage needs.
