ANDREW OThe prices were higher than the location I originally selected and the lights didn’t work on the first dolly so I was given a second one. I then proceeded to get numerous phone calls because nothing was done correctly and I was asked to drive all of the way back to the location so it could be dispatched correctly. Things happen and I appreciate what was done

MISTY C | First ImpressionsI arrived 13 minutes early for my scheduled pick up time and the Regional Manager Vinny charged me for two days instead of the one day I requested. When I challenged the amount being charged, he grunted "That's the amount." I then challenged why the daily insurance charge of $8 was $16 and he didn't answer me but simply asked if I wanted to cancel the insurance. He never once informed me he was charging me for two days even though I gave him ample opportunity to explain the charges. I then took the rental home and called back to once again give him the opportunity to admit his error and instead of answering me, he left me on hold for 20 minutes then purposively hung on me. I heard the receiver pick up, wait a moment, then heard it slammed back down. I finally got ahold of the manager, Elvis, who was more than willing to work with me. The manager simply altered the pick up times in the system, as Vinny could have, so that I was charged the proper amount. Since the manager was cooperative, I decided to go ahead and use the trailer for two days since I had already paid for two days. The Regional Manager should be fired for treating a long-time, repeat customer like myself in the manner that he did. It is also bad business practice to simply charge a customer for two days, when it was more than obvious I wanted to for only one day. But then to ignore my questions about the charges and then to hang up on me is unforgiveable. If he worked for me (I ran my own company for 30 years) Vinny would be on the unemployment line today. I would rate this facility as Excellent if not for how I was treated by Vinny. A Regional Manager should know better than to rip off customers.

By the way, the complainers I read about in the reviews that said there are long waits at the garage entrance waiting for other renters to drive their trucks into the garage which made for long waits. Only negative is the new rate increase for monthly rates. I ended my rental earlier than I had planned. Instead of maintaining my 10 X 10 space, I asked about the rate for a 5 X 5. $80 plus tax is just too high for a 5 X 5 sotrage space!!.

I went through the online check out where you could upload pictures of any damages and I included a picture of the gas gauge indicating it wasn’t where they had it on the rental agreement.

LATOYA MTried to do mobile when picking up truck, had to go inside and wait 10-15 minutes for someone to come to the desk to get the keys. Went out and completed the inspection. Had 2 utility dolly’s on the reservation that wasn’t in the truck. Had to go back inside and wait another 10-15 minutes for the lady to tell me they didn’t have any. Still got charged for the dolly’s.

William HElvis was working when I stopped to pick up rental.trailer. Needed proper ball for hitch. He went out of his way to help find the proper size and install it on my hitch.
SCOTT VHire friendly staff. Both people at the computer were kind of rude. Acted like they didn't want to help. It was my first time renting a truck. I had questions. I'll be using uhaul again soon but it will be at a different location.

TERRY F | First ImpressionsThe cost was absolutely ridiculous! $157 to rent a truck and drive 30 minutes away because they wouldn’t let us hook the dolly up to our own vehicle, not to mention the cost of the dolly. It probably cost less to call a tow truck! I will not be renting a U-Haul again. I came here because the last time I rented a truck to move furniture all day, it cost less than $100 but yall rates have drastically increased and then you charge $0.89/ mile AFTER we still have to pay to rent the vehicle, taxes and wth is an environmental fee and why are customers paying this, and to fill back up the truck. All together I was out $232.00 to tow an own damn car 30 freaking minutes (28 miles) home! The miles were not validated at check in and I couldn’t take a photo because my phone had died. The lady who checked us in told us just drop it off and she will do the check in since she was taking a personal phone call outside. No way we drove 137 miles to go to a neighboring town and back! Straight scam!!!!

RICHARD WBest equipped location I’ve seen. Staff is very pleasant to work with and went the extra mile to make sure everything was clear. Only real surprise was that the truck got only 6 mpg…ate me alive at the gas pump!!
ALAN FThe manager was not friendly. Not happy that the unit had no top. If the roof would leak, it’d come down on my stuff. The only positive experience was getting my boxes the first day. The lady that day was very friendly and helpful.

JAMES RMy mother recently passed. And i needed a rental to remove her belongings from a rental property. I was stressed over the whole situation. However, the process was easy getting checked in. But upon my return I didn't get a receipt. So, the only improvement I would suggest is to either give a paper receipt directly to the customer. Or the customer service personnel needs to make sure to send a receipt directly, asap to the customer. I had to call customer service the next morning to get a copy of my receipt the CSR confirmed would be emailed to me. Overall, the building is clean, spacious and well organized. Additionally, the truck was clean, comfortable and met my needs for the move I had to make.

EDWARD RI reserved a 10feet truck online, got the confirmation number when I went to the location they did not have one. At least 20 minutes I waited and they figured it out and got the truck.
JAMES HThe truck was clean inside the cab, and cargo area. The agent that handled the rental agreement failed to insert my requested return date, and time. This error caused me to not fully understand what my final rental fees would be. I take some responsibility because I failed to read over my contract throughly. The contract fails to provide that the rental fee is for a twenty four hour period. Does say when the rental day starts , and ends. This is somewhat deceptive. The contract should include all pertinent detailed information. Some rental vans have by the day charges highly visible lettered on the outside. Trucks don’t.

Douglas A | Online Move InU-Haul reserved a spot for me in Mooresville, not Statesville. Then tried to give me a 26’ truck. I had to leave work and figure out a ride 30 mins away from my original reservation moving is stressful enough. You should have remedied the issue, not me.

JAY NI reserved a tow dolly through your national number because no one would answer the phone at your Mooresville location. The gentleman on the phone referred to it as a car trailer, and I immediately told him that I didn’t want a trailer, I wanted a tow dolly. He said U-Haul refers to an anything for towing a car is referred to as a trailer. When I showed up at my appointment time in Mooresville, the lady said that my trailer was in the back and that she would help me get it. I said that I didn’t want a trailer, I wanted a tow dolly which she did not have. I had to drive to a different location 20 miles away to get a tow dolly. That meant driving an additional miles to the destination, and an additional 40 miles to return it to Statesville. The least you could have done is allow me to return it to the Mooresville location where I was supposed to pick one up without charging me a drop off fee. You need to train your national reservation people!

PHILLIP WWe had a in town Uhaul, went 7 minutes away. We picked the Uhaul up at E Broad St and dropped it off at E Broad, literally 5 hours later. Somehow Nicholas D put it that we had dropped it off in Mooresville. So now we are disputing it because that’s $268.
MARIA WThe gentleman who helped me at 8am had just found out at 5am he needed to open up in Statesville and had a one hour drive through CLT traffic. Yet he was very pleasant and professional and got me on my way quickly.

Jay WWas not informed that there was a mileage charge when i rented. The equipment i needed was not available so i was forced to take a small truck. Also, i found out that you are 100% higher in your mileage charges than your competition. No ramp, no handcart were offered or available

Marlene SThe only complaint I have is that the gas guage was barely off(she really had to look) from what it was on when I picked it up, and instead of going on she charges me for a gallon of gas. $5 dollars isn't that big of a deal, but it's the fact she couldn't even really tell. "It's barely off" we're her exact words.

YASMINE LWas given a non-maintained car hauler trailer. Had a tire blow out with my vehicle on it at highway speeds 200 miles from home. Parts of the tire flew up and damaged my car. U haul customer support was no help in terms of getting new trailer. Sketchiest drive ever.
