The location is good. 1) The wait to rent my vehicle was prolonged 2) when finally assigned a vehicle, my paper contract was highlighted in 4 spots, folded and handed to me. I was told that my vehicle might be closeby the office or a longer walk out and to the left to the parking lot to the far side of the building . No mention of how I would identify my truck. After wondering the near lot then far lot, I spotted a line which corresponded to the vehicle license plate. Wouldn't you know it, I made the walk to the far lot for no reason. I later learned (because I asked)...one of the highlighted morsels of information was the "Vehicle Unit #", which apparently is painted on the Top Left corner on the front, back and sides. Wish someone had mentioned this. 3) When I finally found a license plate that matched my contract, the vehicle was "bent." I can forward a photo of that vehicle. I did not feel comfortable renting a vehicle which may have frame or other structural damage. My assigned 15 foot truck was swapped out for another. I had to request the contract be reprinted so I would have proof of rental. It wasn't until I returned to the new truck that I discovered the rate had not followed the swap. 4) the replacement vehicle has nearly no fuel but I was willing to accept this and agree to return with 1/4 tank. All of these delays and the pit stop for fuel served to get me on the road approximately 90 minutes later than originally planned. 5) While initially waiting in the rental area, I overheard a retired/senior couple being pitched the road side protection plan. I was not pitched this plan. Is this because my reservation had already been made, or are those with local rentals not pitched such coverage? Or are seniors better sales prospects and more likely to buy such coverage ?

This was my first time using an app too schedule a truck. I had difficulty at first choosing the pick up location I wanted. I had to turn off my gps/location in order to find the location I preferred. I did not see any other way to do it.

Check in was perfect. The person who waited on mr was friendly and helpful. This has nothing to do with the location (I don't think) but my reservation price was about $50 higher than the price on my reservation. I was not able to look at the reservation once I picked up the truck but I remember the total price being under $300 the experience was good but for some reason my reserved price was not hinored.

I am having difficulties with there Traverse City U-Haul facility on 905 N U.S. Route 31 S, Traverse City< MI 49685. I have been there over a year and a half, had three storage rooms, Rooms 1278, 2114, and 2116 and four U-Boxes all on auto-payment. I recently vacated Rooms 2114 and 2116 and they mistakenly checked me out of Room 1278. They apologized and gave me a month of free rent then said they would resume billing. I also recently had all the U-Boxes picked up from my home-- the woman who made the pickup was outstanding, My problem is I tried calling the Traverse City U-Haul office more than ten times with no one picking up only to be auto-dialed to your main U-Haul line where someone asks a a lot of questions and then auto-dials me back to the Traverse City office where no one picks up and then I'm in this "do loop" where no one picks up and no one can resolve the problem. I live 25 miles away and don't want to drive 50 miles round trip to resolve the issue. Then to make matters worse Derrick Suba writes me an email saying they have no received my payment and I am bring charged a late fee of $35.99. I answered his email but got a response back saying my response was not deliverable because group 751071_gm only accepts messages from its people in the organization and my email is not on the list-- so tell me how am I supposed to respond to that. I have always been on auto-payment. Now I'm being charged a late payment for non-payment. Really! To say I am frustrated is an understatement. The last manager Jesse was outstanding. I can't say that for Derrick Suba. Jesse gave me his cell number and when I needed a U-Box that was in storage to be pulled he was on it. I do not want to drive 50 miles round trip when a call or email can get the issue resolved. I need your help to resolve this issue ASAP. Changed my pickup location and caused me an extra 100 mile drive and 2 1/2 hours to get the trailer. Trailer was cobbled electrically. Running lights would turn on and off with no reason. Caused me to have to stop when I was 3 hours from my destination due to darkness. Extra cost for hotel was $152 and the response from returning dealer was for me to open a dispute online. Frustrated beyond my tolerance level. Plan on renting again next spring and will look for alternatives.

Pick up was too easy. Lot of info not shared regarding after hour drop of, making after hour drop off a mess. Explicitly asked how after hour drop off worked. Told, "Just pull it underneath the green canopy and we'll take care of it in the morning." Husband takes it to drop off. Someone is already parked under canopy. Where was option #2 to park it? Theres a sign that says must use the app to drop off or be charged fees. His phone cannot download it. I download from home, and App was lagging, ridiculously slow. Find out from app, need to leave a copy of the contract in the box. Were told at check-in, "our printer is broke, can I just email it?" Never actually saw the contract, didn't have a copy for drop off. App couldn't confirm our geolocation. Left trailer with fingers crossed we wouldn't be charged additional. After moving shit all evening, being tired, midnight drop off should not have been this hard. Tried calling several times Saturday morning to confirm all was ok. No answer at the location. Would recommend to a friend only if at the mercy of pick up time/availability compared to the neighborhood locations.

We did not need to go inside to return the truck. Since the 3 questions are required then I'll explain. I had questions on last day of rental which an employee thought she answered but the next day I found out was not correct when I was billed another day for insurance and the rental. After time on the phone with call center since I could not reach local office, they left a message for the manager, who resolved the billing within 2 days; however had I realized I would be billed the insurance also, I may have made a different decision and returned the truck that day. It would have helped if the employee had remembered the insurance charge. Thank you

They marked the gas tank as being full when renting. It was not. When getting in the vehicle I mentioned the gas gauge did not appear to register as full. I was told that it was how the gauge worked. When I filled the tank up before returning I put in 6 gallons of gas after driving 50 miles. This was on a van and not a large truck. I brought this up to the representative at the location and he basically said that the check these very closely when people return a vehicle. I stated that seems strange that a van would only get 8 miles to the gallon. I stated at worst it probably got 15 miles per gallon. He offered a $3 credit. I said that was not the point as I found his whole response and attitude was unacceptable. In the future I will probably use U Haul, but I certainly will not go back to this location.

I do have 3 pods, everyone is always nice, friendly and professional. There's just no q in Bradley 🤭. Company to a new storage place on haman an Garfield, I opened it before I went downstate for more Dr appointments, came back and decided to close it no money back +, they made me get insurance on an empty unit, never showed me how to get in the place etc. I was told that all the information I needed was on line. There locks were $$. Im glad I decided to use u-haul that's been around for years.

The only problem I had was getting ahold of the office when I moved out on the 21st. I spoke with the answering service which was during office hours. I left 2 messages with the answering service saying I need to talk to office concerning moving out of unit 1022. They said they would deliver the message.

Having wrong marketing material up in the store is confusing. I rented based on a 64.95 price but then found I was paying 20 dollars more. At that point I was stuck pretty much. It was a Sunday at 3 o'clock, I wasn't searching for an alternative. V

This U-haul facility is run with customer service you don't see much anymore. Besides being neat, tidy, and clean inside, the grounds are maintained, equipment is clean and lined up like a car show, and it all shows pride in the workplace. I received three calls during our rental at times when someone noticed something amiss (or potentially amiss). Highly recommend them for storage and for truck/trailer rental. Thanks!

This is by far the best U-Haul in northern Michigan. Jesse does a really great job managing and maintaining this location. The other workers are just as motivated as their manager and are very helpful and kind. Definitely 10 outta 10

Access was hampered in that the door to my storage unit didn’t work properly and it made access to my stored objects impossible to access. This has been a consistent problem. The door does not work properly and it is getting to hard for me to deal with. The rent has doubled and I’m living on social security and has gotten to high for me to afford.

Great facilities. Only complaint I had was the trench that was cut across the parking lot was a big bump hauling a trailer or driving a truck across, but that is fixed now since they repaved the whole parking lot. So now I have no complaints whatsoever. Great facilities and people running it.

The gentleman working was very polite. Informed me that I would have a free month of rent that I didnt know about. Gave me a tour of where my storage unit was at. Also I formed me which key code access device's worked or didn't work as well as which garage door, of the 3 that worked. I guess some work shoukd be done to have all key codes working as well as garage door...that customers keep hitting.

What a great storage system I have a small cleaning business and I normally keep all my stuff stored in my vehicle but with a winter time it’s rough on the equipment and my supplies I’m able to store myself not overcrowd my car it’s affordable and so convenient not to mention the most cleanest I’ve seen Yet

Staff was extremely kind and helpful. He showed us around and how to work the security system, where our unit was and made the mood light all the while. Great experience, will definitely recommend uhaul to anyone who may benefit.

The biggest issue is at the office. There were times where you stop in and have to wait for assistance because no one was at the service counter. That can be an inconvenience when your in a hurry and just need to drop something off like my gate cards after I moved out. Otherwise everything was great.

Only issue I had moving in was my own fault. I got there kind of late due to having to work and trick or treating with my daughter and when I left to check out it was after 10 and I had an issue of trying to check out. It wouldnt allow me to. But other than that I loved how you could utilize the carts and the parking spaces inside so you can load and unload in the heat and out of the cold. It was absolutely great and convenient and the pricing is cheaper than any other storage unit I was in and when I called around for quotes.i highly recommend U-Haul on Us 31 l

I was told I should have received my first month free then when I went to use the faculty the first few times it didn’t work and the person at the desk said “sorry that’s just our system” so considering I wasn’t given my first month free and the first few times were unable to get in I’ll be moving to a different facility by next month

Beautiful and brand new with plenty of flatbeds to use. Pulling your car in out of the weather is HUGE in northern Michigan especially in cold rain! Staff was friendly and ready to help with anything! Highly recommended!

I rated it low because all 3 employees were woahfully under trained. It took FOUR visits to finally be checked in... after having the space checked out instead of checked in, almost lost it because it was open for rent again & then have a lock put on it even though I had a free month. Do not open for business unless they are given good training. Otherwise they are clueless & customers get frustrated
