Tiffany was terrific! She answered my questions over the phone and made the in-person rental process seamless. She gets 5 stars hands down! I gave 3 stars because the facility is not set up for multiple move-ins, move-outs or visits to units. The facility was not busy at all when I made my first trip but when I arrived a little over an hour later, well, madhouse would be an understatement. Cars were parked willy-nilly, trucks with trailers were parked along the curbs (blocking access in/out) and there would be no way a truck could arrive at the move-in/out doors because cars were parked every which way. Something told me to bring my dolly and I'm glad I did. Otherwise, I would have had to carry boxes across the parking lot. The facility is a great idea but the small strip of paved area is land-locked with Hurstbourne Parkway on one side and a school on the other. Just go early or late, don't go in the middle of the day, especially on a weekend.

(The same broken hangar was in the elevator for a week, q-tips in the hallway, etc.) The exterior doors farthest from the office were often locked, even during regular business hours. Not a big deal, just extra steps.
Eric S | Overall ExperienceWhen I picked up the 10' Truck, the first thing I noticed was the gas level wasn't marked correctly on the contract. It was marked 3/4 full, but it was only 5/8 full. The check engine light was on. I was told it would be ok and they would look at it tomorrow. When I opened the back of the truck there was a small piece of animal poop on the floor that was about 2 inches long. Also, the seatbelt light kept ringing even though we all had our seatbelts on. This was probably the worst experience I've ever had renting a moving truck.

They charged me an extra $115 simply because they didn’t check in the truck on time—waiting until they opened the next day instead! Even after reviewing their security cameras, they admitted the mistake and assured me they would fix it. However, instead of resolving the issue, the charges increased to $198 over the next three days. Absolutely ridiculous! Every time I call, no one seems to know what to do. This level of mismanagement and poor customer service is unacceptable. I won’t be giving up until they refund my money. If you’re considering renting from them, be warned—you might end up paying for their mistakes!
TAREK FThis facility botched my move out experience. My move out request went u processed until the next rent was due, after which they attempted to charge rent plus a move out fee. I replied and the issue seemed resolved, but then over a week later my parents got a collection letter from them. For $50. Incredibly embarrassing and unprofessional on their part to attempt to collect from my family immediately without so much as a phone call to me. I’ll never rent from U-Haul again and will actively discourage others from doing so. I actually can’t believe the behavior. It’s so upsetting. I did call immediately upon learning of the letter and was told that I do not owe anything, so to my knowledge the staff resolved the issue. It has not resolved my embarrassment and complete disappointment in this interaction.

RICKY SWe arrived at 7 am and attempted to use the app to pick up our rental. Apparently when our pick up location was changed it was not set to 24/7 rental. This was annoying but shouldn’t have been a big deal because this location was to open at 7 am. No one showed to work though which made it a big deal. The customer care agents we spoke to on the phone were extremely helpful and got us in a different truck. They get excellent reviews. This location does not and will not accept a rental from them again.

That was very stressful when I was operating on limited time and my helpers. As for cleanliness, I wld say yes with exception. Seeing someone’s furniture inside the facility as if they were put out looked very unbecoming. When I arrived to return the truck at 2pm, office was closed and I had to use the key drop box. I picked the truck up at 10am and actually had it for appx 3 hours total considering all the hiccups with the computer problems and the unit reassignments. I hope I am not charged an after hour drop off fee bec the truck was returned in time.

The office was closed. I’m hoping I don’t get charged and after our fee for using the dropbox. There was an hour in delay due to computer problems, and storage unit assignment. Otherwise customer service was very friendly and very professional.

Each time I was automatically forwarded to the 1(800) number who also attempted to reach the location for me an could not. My contract was placed on "hold" for multple days and I was never able to reach anyone to get a final receipt. The whole ordeal was very unprofessional. I will never use this location again.

CHERYL HI think the only thing that could improve, not necessarily this location, but all locations. I think the equipment needs to be maintained a bit better. And I feel there should be basic lighting adapters available as well for the trailers/haulers! I had a few hiccups the day I went to oic up a car hauler. Not due to anything the ladies did at the location. They were very nice to deal with. My issue was that the hauler wiring would not attach to my vehicle. Which resulted in me disconnecting from the hauler and driving to a local auto parts to get an adapter. And the jack on the trailer was quite hard to operate. Along with the ramps not operating freely. I will however, due to staff, use this location again. And will recommend it as well. I am honestly overwhelmed that the manager at this location refunded my rent due to all of the hiccups. Thanks.

MARK KThe truck was clean but, not well maintained. The truck was missing it’s gas cap, check engine light was on and the driver’s side mirror would not stay in place. Also, I was not able to rent a truck in my area. I had to drive about 15 miles out of my was to get the truck. I lost time and I was charged $20+ to get the truck.

I had to provide a wi-fi hot spot with my phone just so he could complete my rental. I have no idea how he manages to get anything done with the low quality internet provided at his workplace.
MARIA AThis location is by far the best location!!! Ms. Brooks and her team went above and beyond when I rented a raggedy truck from the bp Shelbyville location! I came to just pick up supplies and a dolly since they didn’t have it at the other location and Ms. Brooks team cleaned and serviced the other locations truck, said that it wasn’t up to her uhual standards and then sent me on my way! I even got two nice pieces of Halloween candy! <3 this is amazing customer service !!
ALEXUS WI highly recommend this place was amazing. I ended up leaving only because I couldn't find a smaller unit for my things. The storage space was HUGE for a 10' x 5'. The staff were very courteous and helpful with anything I needed.

They found me a unit and it cost more than my online reservation which I was not informed. My Uhaul card did not work and I had to use the managers code to access the building. There were mice or rats in the box in my storage. I lost 2-3 days worth of pay because of all the inconveniences this Uhaul caused. I was given a free additional month because of all the inconveniences just to arrive and they put their own lock on my storage I missed work because they couldn’t figure out who did and where the key was. The whole experience was a nightmare and I lost money and time.

Trenton SAll I can say is Raine and Krishawn are absolutely amazing. To say they went the extra mile would be an understatement. The most courteous and customer conscious staff I have ever encountered. They treated my wife and I like family from the beginning. We had a couple of challenges and they were there to advise us and help us throughout the process. When we arrived at the facility I had hired a couple of movers from JJ Moving to help unload the truck into the storage unit. The movers arrived about 40 minutes late. When my wife and I went into the storage area to inspect how they were placing our items in the storage unit, it was a fiasco. The movers had stacked open boxes at the bottom of the stack, indetified as containing glass and were on the bottom of stacks of boxes, with broken expensive items. And I had to restack the entire storage unit. I could go on but one last thing, when I phoned JJ Movers about the mess, the owner came to the storage and attempted to make me pay double what the agreement was and when that happened, Krishawn stepped in after consulting with Raine and stopped the intimidation by the owner of JJ Movers and made them leave the premises. It was as if we had an older sister taking up for us. All of the action by Raine and Krishawn have been extremely professional and thoughtful. We have rented storage in Florida and California but have never been treated with the courtesy, respect and professionalism we experienced with Raine and Krishawn as well as the UHaul company. They are A #1 in all they have done. My wife and I absolutely love them and thank God for them. I could spend days and pages talking about how great they are ... By far the best customer service my wife and I have ever experienced. Raine and Krishawn you are the best ... God Bless You!

Meredith AWhen returning during business hours, sign said wait in your rental for someone come inspect and start the return process. I waited and no one came. I started the online return, and the app was not responding, so I went in to find the employee. First thing I noticed was it smelled strongly of marijuana. Then there was a sign stating that the employee was in the storage area and to call a certain phone number. The person did not answer. I went back out, tried the online option again, got it done. As I am driving away, the employee called me, a little too late.

The 10 foot truck was unavailable, so I end up with a 15 foot truck, which uses much more fuel and is more difficult to drive. Something other than "at the same price" should have been offered. This is a UHaul corporate issue, their process needs to be evaluated and improved as well.
