After driving about 60 miles, the gas gauge on the van we rented wasn't registering when we refilled. We put 8 gallons worth over $38 in it, which should have been twice as much as what was required since it gets 14-15 mpg. When we dropped off we had our receipt and tried to talk to someone about it since it was showing slightly lower than where we started. The system was down and they told us they would call us back. No one called but they charged us a gas fee. I called and asked to speak to the manager. She wouldn't speak to me but I could hear her telling the associate what to say. It's absolutely ridiculous that she wouldn't speak to me or try to work with me. I wasn't disputing that the gauge said it was lower than where we started but I had a receipt to prove that we bought more gas than we should have needed to. She seemed to have no problem ripping us and future customers off with this broken gauge.

They were great. We pulled up and a nice young man quickly un hooked the trailer and checked us out. Very fast and efficient. Didn't even have to go inside and wait in a line.

After checking in, I was given keys to the wrong truck—the license plate didn’t match the reservation. I had to return to the desk and wait in a line behind four other groups to get the correct keys. Although several staff members recognized that we had already been helped and acknowledged there was an issue, no one expedited the process or offered assistance. Mistakes happen, and I understand that, but the original staff member who checked us in didn’t apologize or even acknowledge the mix-up. Additionally, we received the truck at 7/8 full, paid $32 for a full tank refill, and didn’t receive any reimbursement for the difference. The rental itself was fine, but the customer service left a lot to be desired.

The employee at U-Haul hooked up the trailer later than the scheduled time because someone stole the wires to the trailers, so they had someone drive to a different location to pick up more wires for the trailers. Ultimately I had a great experience, but may be good to try and find a way to prevent someone from stealing the wires as the U-Haul location that I rented from is on Aurora ave which is known for homelessness and crime.

Your 4x8 trailer is intact 3'4" wide and was not usable to haul something 46 wide. You employees didn't check my trailer lights before I left. I also asked to rent a larger trailer as I said that the 4 ft wide looked small but I did not have a tape measure w me. He said there were no others.after going ll the way home to find it too small and back there the next guy said you had lots of trailers which you did and I had seen when picking up the too small one What a hassle! Super lame

I would not recommend this location. When I took the truck out was told it had a quarter tank of gas. When I got in it was a little below a quarter. Did not think to much about it. When I returned it was the same level, a little below a quarter. The U-Haul attendant told me I would need to pay $34.95??????? I went and put $10 in it, the gauge did not move. I put another $10 and it moved to a quarter. $20 for a 1/16 of a tank???????. When I came back from filling I got a different attendant for the return procedure. This attendant walked around the truck and said hey there is a big dent in the truck. He says let me show you and was acting like it was my fault. I told him don’t bother I have pictures of the whole truck and showed him. He backed right down. There is something really fishy with these guys, beware!!!!!!!!

The truck and equipment were returned on Monday and I was charged for miles I didn’t use and days I had no access to the vehicle. The manager Christine was very rude when I did talk to her once. She never called me to discuss the charges or anything. She also was very rude about the entire situation. I can’t say anything good about the experience and I will not return to U-Haul.

the location was an hour late opening. Myself and three other customers sat out in the rain waiting because we had been dropped off due to no parking.after picking up keys and examining the truck, i went back in an explained that gas meter was at 1/2 NOT 3/4 as the paperwork showed.i went back in and told the lady working that this was the case and she said she could not and would not just come out and look.and that i had to do it on line. i told her that i wasn't comfortable sharing photos from my phone w u haul and could she just look herself. "no" was the answer i got. I photographed the fuel level at 1/2 and brought it back at 5/8. so not only did i get bad customer service ( i and my wife have been renting from this location for 15 years now),but i gave back the truck w more fuel than was picked up and now i see on my bill i was also charged for added gas and state tax. This follows suit in yet another established business throwing long term customers and service to the wind. based on that i doubt anything will be done here but i had to try. If this was my business i would want to know for sure. thank you isha Hoffman

I experienced outright discrimination at this U-Haul location where employee Jaden and their coworker subjected me to transphobic mockery - deliberately misgendering me despite my ID showing "M" and my visible facial hair - and ableist cruelty by laughing at my disability and caregiving needs while taunting "Let me say it one more time slowly." The final humiliation came when they laughed at me as I left after jumping through their unnecessary hoops, having already canceled my services once and forced me to restart the entire process. While I've successfully worked with other U-Haul locations that accommodated my needs as the only able-bodied driver in my household, this team treated basic requests with contempt and hostility. Their behavior went far beyond poor service into targeted harassment - dismissing standard accommodations other locations provide, suggesting unsafe "solutions" with clear disdain, and taking visible pleasure in humiliating me. As a disabled transgender person, I felt actively endangered by their conduct. I'm warning all disabled and LGBTQ+ customers to avoid this location entirely - staff here will weaponize bureaucracy to harm you while laughing at your distress. U-Haul corporate needs to take immediate action against these employees before someone gets hurt.

The experience was fine but overpriced. Where is the $19.99 deal you advertise everywhere? My 5 hour rental cost me $78. Not to mention the mythical amount to fill up the gas tank to get it where it was when I picked it up which added another $25 to the total outlay for this necessary rental for my business. Too much. Too much.

Came in at 9:00am. Young blond girl working. Had to yell hello first as she was not in the reception area. Took 30 min to get out of there and I had filled out everything online. She gave me keys and said it’s in the back look for the number. Then complained I had so many blankets and had me roll out 2 hand trucks with the blankets. Had to ask her to show me where the truck was. Only had 1/2 a tank. All around it was just not good. Attitude, disposition was not on her agenda that day.

Couldn’t find my rental for several minutes. But ultimately, my only complaint was I made a reservation online with confirmed pickup and (different) drop off location. When I dropped off the next day, I was told I had to pay a fee/fine for out of zone unauthorized drop off. I had emails and confirmed screen shots matching my reservation but it was embarrassing and I still don’t really know what went wrong. If anything. I followed the website directives, not sure I’m up for doing that again. Thank you!

I was very surprised to be told by a u haul person that I had to wash the trailer to avoid a cleaning fee. At least they gave me the option but I have rented at this location for over 20 years and have never been asked to do that. I swept out the utility trailer meticulously before returning.

This is not a problem with the location - the location was great and they have substantial inventory of both supplies and vehicles. The problem is the Uhaul online tools. I reserved a trailer online, went through the steps and received an order confirmation. What is unclear when you make the reservation is that there is a whole other set of steps you can take after the reservation is completed to finalize the process. Since this is my first time making a reservation with you, this was unclear, and then just "fine print" in the confirmation email. You should make this clearly explicit during the registration process. So like 95% of this location's customers (per the clerk who helped me), I showed up and then had to go through all the steps - take a headshot, take photos of my license, etc. To make matters worse, the app was failing every time I got to the driver's license picture process. I tried it on my phone, the clerk tried it on his phone, it kept generating an error, frustrating everyone, especially the people lining up behind us.

I am a tech savvy person, and I like to use the app. I don’t like to stand in line and have somebody else put my drivers license information in the computer but every time I go to U-Haul and open the app to check in the app fails. Please fix your app. It will save you money And make your customers happy.

Did not get good instructions about after hours drop off. Person at desk gave minimal advice making it sound easy. Posted instructions were worthless. I spent half hour downloading app and trying to find the return function. Another customer was also dropping off and had same complaint. Key drop did not match image in photo, had to search.

Our truck had a fuel leak. Every time we tried putting fuel in it kept pouring all over the ground. Called roadside assistance and they said it would take 5 hours. Once we returned the truck we got charged for fuel even though we left it at the most fuel it could hold without leaking which was 1/4 tank.

The 5x8 cargo trailer is not a Full 5x8 in the door. I ordered blankets and they were not put in the trailer. The rental is way to expensive, I won’t rent again

Train employees, make sure technology works. Not only couldn’t I enter photos into your portal after logging onto your site, after 3 attempts, the employee has to use their phone. When prompted outside to record license and photos of trailer, it wouldn’t work after 3 tries. Employee had to get 2 different trailers before he found one that the lights worked on. Oh, and in case you’re wondering I am using a n iPhone 16. This experience I’m sorry to say is typical. I wish I had other options

The check in app sucks. Intake employee doesn't tell you to do a walk around or take a picture of the gas gauge. Gas was not full yet they tried to charge for a fill up. Then I got a bunch of grief because I didn't take a picture right away. Give me a break. How about some customer service??

The guy who helped me in the morning when I came to pick up the rental was excellent. Well mannered, positive attitude. Unfortunately, he is one of one. When I came back to return my rental, I was met with the rudest service. One lady did a good job of helping. But, there was issues charging my card. I informed her that my phone had died and that my card may be locked. I was using the same card that I placed a deposit with. So, clearly I have the financial means to take care of my business. I asked if I could use Apple Pay and the other lady interjected and said “we don’t have Apple Pay”. Her tone and energy just read to me that I was less than and obviously since my card has issues then I don’t deserve good customer service. I’m sure my appearance played a role as well. I walked to my car to grab another card and take care of the payment. When I re-entered, the first person that was helping said she had other duties and that the rude lady would help me when she’s done with her phone call. I said ok, no problem. My wife and daughter are in the car just waiting and baby is not feeling too good so I’m hoping to be done rather quickly. The rude lady is now on hold and I softly ask the rude lady “excuse me, did you have an estimate of how long the call would be, I’m just trying to get an idea?” She replies with the nastiest attitude, “I can help you when I’m done!” I then asked, “ok that’s fine, I was just curious as to how long it would be is all”. She then replied, “it’ll be when I’m done!” …… not sure how many kids she got but I guess she claiming everyone because she had clearly assumed I was also her child. So, I said “well you know that rude, that’s definitely not good customer service. But, I mean, if I had to work at U-Haul I’d probably have a shitty attitude too.” I got my receipt and got out as soon as I could. Regardless of what kinda day you’re having, you showed up. I didn’t ask you to work for U-Hual nor were you mandated. You CHOSE this work of your own free will. So when you get to work, do your job. With dignity and respect. Because you never know who you’re helping (or not helping in this case). If you feel like you’re off your rocker, don’t show up. I fully understand why this location had so many 0-1 star reviews. Makes perfect since.

Making the reservation and picking up the truck we’re fine. I had to request a gas cap for the truck for this wet snowy day and the front tires were legal but barely. This vehicle had nearly 170,000 miles on it and drove like it. Things went downhill when we returned it. I had asked to purchase two bags of packing blankets which we received and paid for. I mistakenly understood this transaction to be a purchase not a rental. My mistake. When we returned without them, the individual who helped us Told us we needed to return them immediately or he would charge us about $70 per bag and report us to the police for theft! Not a great way to talk to a customer. He ran the additional charge which we discovered when we returned with the blankets in about an hour, still well before our final check in time. This doesn’t feel like good service to me.

I attempted to return my auto transport a day early, they denied it initially using the excuse taht my u-haul and transport are in 1 reservation, till i insisted the u-haul representatives on the phone said it was 100% confirmed that I can return exclusively the auto-transport. They took off the auto-transport after lots of back and forth, would not recommend U-haul in general after this experience
