My experience wasn't that great I had movers ready to help me move into the storage it was delayed due to issue with you all and storage I was given the wrong storage unit but the person who helped me quickly realized so they assigned me a different storage when getting to the third floor the storage how to lock on it and we could not access the storage so I did not feel like walking back down so I called I was put on hold for at least 10 minutes I hung up and called back I was told to come down had to wait just a little bit finally got the storage unit then I don't believe they price match I happened to find out that public storage is extremely less for the exact same size storage that I currently rent at this facility

I have to mention the few times I rented from the other place, they make you buy one of their locks; I forgot mine at home and when all the paperwork was done, the agent showed me where my unit was then thanked me. I was shocked and suddenly realized I needed a lock. I was gonna go back and buy one but decided to put my belongings away first. When I opened the door there on the clean carpet was a brand new lock! Because of that, I'm gonna shout from the rooftop how awesome Uhaul storage

ELWOOD RI've rented from this location many times in the past. However when I rented 5 vans from this location the new woman in charge was very rude. She needs serious training in customer service. I will not rent from this location again if I can help it.

Employee said there short staff and couldn’t help out so I waited to give few more days. Anastasia assisted me over the phone for check out. Was very upset and scream to the last of our conversation just because I mentioned short staff. Hopefully next time I go she’s in a happier mood.

Unfortunately, our experience was deeply troubling due to the discriminatory behavior exhibited by the manager. Before discussing our reservation, I observed the manager treating customers of color poorly while being warm and welcoming to white customers. This pattern of behavior was evident even before I discovered that my account had been flagged due to an association with someone else. The manager made the process unnecessarily difficult and informed my brother-in-law that he could not rent because he was associated with me. Her demeanor was rude until I requested the head manager's contact information for the location. She provided a cell phone number with no identifying information for the person I was calling. Despite paying the balance required to proceed with my reservation, I made it clear that I would be filing a formal complaint regarding the ill treatment of people of color compared to white customers. I witnessed a black customer who had reserved two dollies being treated rudely and without compassion. Her coworker had to remind her that she could offer this gentleman a dolly that was for sale in the showroom. This unprofessional and biased behavior was unacceptable. I have previously used this location without any complaints, but the difference in treatment this time was palpable. I will never use this location again and will warn my friends and family about the head manager's behavior. I plan to reach out to address this situation further, as I believe this manager is racially profiling individuals. After I warned her that I would be lodging a formal complaint, her attitude changed, but the damage was already done.

(Did not know about down elevator or so he said, also didnt know much at all about the key fob for garage had to ask someone else. Garage process never was explained to me, i had to ask. But he was very friendly. He hopes you bring him to your location full time Anastacia. Lol. Freight elevator in north tower down. Very inconvenient. Lady checking out complained of mold. Hope to not have same experience. Otherwise. I’m good. I don’t usually participate in reviews. But you caught me on a late night with much on my mind and nothing to do. Lol
RONEKKA H | First ImpressionsFor the past 5 years, we do 4 or 5 conventions a year, these are big events for our business and they are rigorously scheduled. Load in and load-outs are done on a very rigid schedule, so everything has to work. We mostly rent a 6X12 enclosed trailer or on occasion a full-size 15' truck. We have been screwed several times when the roll-up doors have gotten stuck or were not operating smoothly. Most Uhaul locations have limited equipment. We have found that the Duwallmish location has the a large inventory and a very accommodating staff. The equipment that we have rented there has ALLWAYS been clean and reliable. If I have an issue, they will address it and take care of it. I drive a few extra miles to them just because....

DOUGLAS S | Overall ExperienceI rent the same trailer twice a year, every year for the last 15 years. 50% of the time my reserved trailer is not at the location. But... when I show up there were 13 trailers like I reserved. However, I was told they are one way trailers. I don't give a flying F what UHaul has them coded as. I reserved it days in advance, showed up on time. It shouldn't take an act of god to release a trailer. In the past they made me drive an hour to other locations to accommodate the poor system. Customer service lady was awesome but hands tied and had to call for supervisor.
CLAY PI was informed that I'd need to get gas in the truck soon, with the reason that gas gets stolen from the vehicles frequently. When I got in the truck, it didn't even register on the fuel gauge and I had to find a gas station asap! There needs to be better control especially when I'm instructed to return it with a minimum of 1/4 tank. It cost me $125 and 2 stops at a gas station, to ensure the 1/4 tank for return.
PATRICE HThe signs indicating where to drop off were knocked over... presumably by the wind and made it difficult to know where the correct drop-off location was located. Need to get better signage that is not susceptible to being blown over.

They were 4 hours late and didn’t even bother to protect the furniture with the blankets provided. My furniture arrived damaged because of it. Using U-Haul and Movers Inc, I would not recommend to anyone. I will be seeking compensation for the items damaged.

CLAYTON BI understand there was damage and you needed to charge me for it but just charging my card without any warning was rude. You should have contacted me to let me know. Thankfully I had the money in the bank but what if I hadn’t.

OLIVIA D1. A week prior to my rental date, I reserved a truck from a different location. The night before my rental date, I got a call saying that the truck would not be available where I had made my reservation, and instead I would have to rent from a location 7 miles away. This means I not only wasted 35 minutes of my time driving back and forth, but also had to pay an additional $22.26 in mileage fees, plus gas. 2. When I showed up at the location, although it was during regular business hours, the door was locked and no one was inside, causing me to wait another 10 minutes. 3. When I did get the truck, it didn't have any gas in it--to the point that I wasn't able to make it even 5 miles before running out of gas. 4. When I rented the truck, I was told that since it didn't have any gas in it, if I brought it back with a quarter of a tank, I would receive a credit of $51.75. I returned it with a quarter tank, but only got a credit of $33.00.
REAGAN LThe first truck had a dead battery, the second truck ran out of gas within 6 blocks of where we picked it up at uhaul. They said the second truck was a one way and we were to drop it off at the Burien store. We got there and they said they didn't have room. Then we were sent to another location and wrre then parked on the street. Not even in a lot. Sketchy at best.

That said, I AM very impressed with this U-Haul location and its staff overall. I am seriously considering renting storage space here.
ROBERT BAre experience started at the Burien location with an air issue in the tire and the employees wanting us to still take the truck. Then we were sent to the Duwamish store. After a wait we had a new contract and sent out to get our truck. After a search through the parking lot we found the truck. Only, the key wasn’t for that truck. Then we were told they didn’t have the key for that truck. So then we waited and got another contract and were sent out to the parking lot to find our truck. Only that truck was on empty though we were told it had gas. Finally 2 hrs after are original pick up time we were on our way. Then when we went to drop the truck off in Yelm at the given address the location was closed. So we called and spoke to a women who told us to leave it there. We also let her know that we left the truck with just under a quarter of a tank of gas. It was not the experience we were looking for. Also the fact we were encouraged to take a truck with air issues. It was 30psi lower than what it was supposed to be. Not safe!!

This function added an additional 20-30 min after 4 attempts to make it work, I had to get the 1 person working to help me with it. Ultimately she had to do it all herself, even having her own trouble with the system. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I wouldn’t go there again they just don’t help in way.

I've had to store my belongings several times over the years & I've used several different companies/facilities. The staff & facility were above par. Staff was always courteous & professional. The facility always clean & easily accessible. Things I liked most was the ability to park in a garage setting making it feel more secure, convenient & accessible; use of an access card instead of having to punch in some code; & by far the coolest was the "Recycle & Reuse" space in the garage where people moving in/out & buyers of auctioned units could place items they no longer needed or wanted but still usable instead of trashing them for others to grab!! No other place I've used had this & I got some great items from this as well as "donated" some items as well. Kudos to whoever brought this idea to fruition! Thanks for a great experience & if I'm ever in need of storage again I'll definitely be back!!

I was told I was clear to go and then received mail saying that I was behind and that I had a lien against my storage unit that was now empty for a month. Pretty horrible experience on both moving in and moving out.

We required our phone flashlight to find our unit, unlock it, and look over our belongings. At one point an alarm down the hall went off. This rattled us as we couldn’t see anything. Glad my husband was with me. It seems the lights should stay on or have motion sensors to turn on during access hours. I will likely only access our unit during office hours from now on. Otherwise I appreciate the cleanliness of the facility and the friendliness of the staff.

To be specific, he said, “I do not have to read those notes I can do as I feel. The U-Haul customer service team (via phone)has no say on what happens at the in person locations. My stuff is still currently in the U-Haul at the store I was to unload at and is an ongoing issue that has been beyond stressful!

However, it took a year for me to get into a comfortable living area for my work. During the year, it was nice to have the hours in the evening to go get things or put things away after arriving into Seattle off jets. I'm thankful I opted for a little bigger unit as my things accumulated over the months. The convenience of your bathrooms were also appreciated for times of reorganizing things in my unit for accessibility. "Grab 'n go" times required better planning for organizing which took hours to situauate and structure my stored items since I was living out of hotels. There were times I'd change into one of my uniforms in your bathrooms and go right into work. I kept a lot of my clothing hung up in my unit. If I needed a place to keep my things, this was as good as it got for exactly what I needed. Thank you, Duwamish U-Haul! 5 stars all around for fast, friendly service when I needed it. Excellent service and convenience of location.

I spoke with a team member today and she said they would ensure it is done today and I would not be charged for today. I’ll need to continue monitoring this until it’s done. Also Yesterday I booked a 5x5x7 unit but upon entry I realized it was too small and asked to go up a size, I was charged a change fee of appx $15. It seems poor policy to charge for a same day change which resulted in a more expensive unit.

I will never use U-Haul again for moving or storage.

The unit, building, location, security system, and the staff are great. The amount of time to access my unit was awful. I filled everything out online so that it would be a quick move in. I waited in line for about an hour before I could use my unit. It took me longer to get my access than it did to unload my stuff, move it to my storage unit, tetris it in my storage unit, got back to the front desk because the lock wasn't in the unit as stated, get the lock, walk back to my unit, finish unloading, and lock the unit. All of that took less time than the wait to just get access to my unit. The three different staff members I interacted with were great. If they didn't have the needed knowledge, they quickly tapped someone that did, answered my questions, and resolved my issues. The fact that they were understaffed and had to continue to deal with people that were hot and tired after waiting in line for over an hour, makes me not want to support the company any longer. A friend rented a truck from the same location earlier this week. It took him three hours to get a truck, it wasn't the size he reserved, and he had to go to another location to get it. Again, the staff were great. Management (at the level that is accountable for staffing) needs to be trained or replaced as every person I spoke with at the location had a negative experience due to the lack of available customer service.

This should be communicated online, not something I'm not aware of until I show up after 7PM to access my belongings. The employees were nice enough to explain the reasoning behind the decision, it's just extremely inconvenient as I just moved here and am now restricted to business hours for unloading a truck with a time limit imposed by U-Haul. The staff is very accommodating and helpful and I appreciate them, their patience and assistance.

So I did. And at the end of the meeting she said I didn't set it up o line, yet she didn't have to ask me any info because it was already set up online. And also she said that the hours I could access my unit was only until 700pm, but the guy online said 10pm, and there were still people there after 700 so I don't get it. And I work till 5pm that's hardly time to get home and get to my storage. I have a 10ft uhaul truck in NY drive way and I need to empty it but there isn't enough time. So now what?

I didn't have confidence in the skills of Jessie, mostly because he didn't seem to know too much himself and needed lots of assistance. While I don't mind training someone, it took longer than normal to check in. I had an immense amount of patience but that patience wasn't returned when I was using the stalls to unload my truck and they needed to go home. It seemed my time was not as valuable as their time. There should be a way to lock the facility to allow the customer to completely use the stall and have it lock behind them. Interestingly, the same 2 individuals that took a tremendous amount of time at check in were the ones demanding that we move out of the stalls. Additionally, dogs should not be brought to work. It's unprofessional. The truck check out was much smoother, likely because it was handled by the manager, and there's another younger lady working there that seemed pretty efficient.
