Was told to chill the F out “ I’m straight tripping “ because i had issues getting into my storage for 4 days and hung up on me told me call bk when i have a better day . . My access code wasn’t working they stop answering my calls to get the issue fix so I had to contact upper management n they called them personally n got it handled n was now being nice n helpful when management got involved! Do not recommend. And the homeless lives all on that area sidewalks . Gates don’t work to lock you in safe.
Nancy D | Overall ExperienceI rented a 10x10 unit online using the Rent Now option so that my movers would be able to drop off my items without me needing to be there. Instead, the online system gave me two 5x10 units next to each other - with zero warning or approval on my end. This couldn't be resolved with a phone call and instead required me to go in person to change units to what the system should have given me (a 10x10 was thankfully available on the same floor because my furniture would not fit in a 5x10 space). This completely negated the ease of Rent Now online. Please at least insert a warning before confirming the reservation if the units are not what's requested.

The only downfall after getting in to the facility is the homeless population were close by and wondering/able to get in as a result of the automatic doors. What this line, the owner of a man of team was excellent, but even the people that were working there the young lady that made sure the facility was clean was excellent. I was sorry to leave you, but we got a garage at the apartment we're renting so we took that instead of the storage. I give the storage facility management and this person a five star rating and a definite recommend for all future people considering storage in Albuquerque.

The homless people are walking back and forth ranting and raving and walk onto the property as they have no security gate. There is no security personnel on-site at the actual storage facility. The office with staff is actually across the street on 4th street. We didn't feel safe coming here.

The double input seems a bit much then at the same time the garage doors (an AWESOME benefit to be able to pull your vehicle in) if left open, anyone can enter. Also the sliding door sensor is too sensitive and it could allow unauthorized access. Not sure what to suggest about the garage door situation. We have always pulled our vehicle inside and closed the door behind us but I saw another customer who had a truck and ramp to the open garage door because either the truck would not fit OR with the ramp down there was not enough length to accomplish that. Still nicely satisfied with the facility.
Robert M | Overall ExperienceWhen we first booked we were scheduled at the Princeton and Candelaria location. We show up and are told there is no longer an office and we have to go to a different location. This would be fine if we didn’t have movers that were on a schedule. This oversight cost my family over 100 more dollars than we were expecting. We were able to cover it but imagine the folks that have to budget moves to the dime. Additional the number to the Princeton location is incorrect and they don’t seem to care to fix it. Additionally, on the app it asked for the estimated miles for a truck rental however it is not made explicitly clear that going over those miles would result in additional charges. Again, very unfair and poorly communicated for a company as big as U-Haul. I am also extremely disappointed in the online interface as it is frustrating when all you want to do is talk to a person. What used to be a reliable and trusted company is clearly more interested in saving a buck even if it comes at the cost of ours. I will never recommend U-Haul and will even go as far as suggesting other movers. Never again and I hope to see the day this company crumbles. The only saving grace was the incredible people working in the offices and customer service over the phone.

Hand trucks/dollies available. ‘Donation’ station is highly desirable! Easy check out! Great business! Thank you!
Jolyne S | Overall ExperienceThe slide bolt on my unit's door does not align with the hole in the latch plate. It is extremely difficult to move the bolt to the lock position. Also, the latch plate sticks out to far and is interfering with the door rollers.

Super nice staff at the storage place itself and, at the office around the corner where you first check-in. Overall, I rate this facility a full 5+ stars!

Carts were locked up, apparently. Nice facility, if it was more streamlined, cause walking across roads to find office, was first challenge for me, at age 63.

Robin C | First ImpressionsWhen I reserved the unit it said my unit was on the 1st floor when I got to the facility they gave me a unit on the 3rd floor and told me it was close to the elevator, it isn't, there are at least 5 units that are closer to the elevator that they could have gave me. Also when I rented the U-Haul the website says that I received the 1st month free for the storage unit and quoted me the price would be $8.95 for the insurance when I got to the storage facility I was told that they give you the 2nd month free since it was already late in the day and I didn't have time to find another storage facility I had to pay for the 1st month plus two months of insurance luckily for me I was able to pay the almost $200 even though I was expecting to have to only pay the $8.95 so my advice is to call the storage unit before chosing U-Haul needs to fix this on the website

This happened EVERY time I came to the unit (almost daily). Upon my checking out, I received a telephone call stating I owed approximately $400 for the damage to the door (which I explained was done by U-Haul employee in an attempt to help me with the impossible door. Actually, I'm interested in pursuing some type of compensation for this extreme inconvenience. I suppose I need to email Corporate.
Marjorie O | Overall ExperienceAfter driving 1,500 miles from Florida to New Mexico due to a Military Move, I find out the 20x10 storage unit I booked on the first floor did not exist. “Very conveniently” the office gave me two 10x10’s on the second floor at a higher price and told me they would not offer me a discount. U-Haul Storage of Westside said U-Haul’s website advertises units available that aren’t actually available. It took me 5 hours to haul all my my household goods up an elevator and cram everything in 10x10’s. To top it off, the location said the buildings insurance would not cover me if anything happened to my units if I didn’t buy the circle locks because homeless people get inside their facility. Mind you, I already purchased the $10 extra monthly charge for insurance. After I unpacked and left, I reviewed my receipts and found out the locks they sold me were included free with the rent now option. I don’t understand the carelessness of the office workers at U-Haul Storage of westside. It really makes me sick that they didn’t do more to help me. I’ve served 10 years in the Air Force and moved 8 times. I have never met a more rude staff at a U-Haul Facility. I will be telling everyone on Kirtland Air Force base to stay far away from this horrible location. I cannot wait until I can get my household goods out of there. I am not confident that my stuff will be protected.

MARCELA B | First ImpressionsTo begin, I had made a reservation at the Coors and I-40 location due to its accessibility, price points, and month of free storage as a result of my most recent truck rental back in March. Upon arrival, I sat with an associate and completed all of the necessary paperwork and upon payment I was told that my unit was not eligible for the month free promotion due to the location’s capacity being over 90% full. The associate informed me that I could go to a different location and claim this promotion, but that he could not help me otherwise. Frustrated, I then drove myself and all of my belongings to this other location, went through the paperwork again, and secured my unit for the month. Upon arrival at the front doors of the storage complex, I typed in my code and was told that my access was denied and that the system did not recognize my credentials. Even more frustrated now, I called the second location and explained my situation and they had John Garcia (GM) arrive within ten minutes to assist me with entry. Mr Garcia was incredibly patient and personable and helpful, but with that being said it still took over an hour of phone calls and resets and attempts to gain access to the storage room all while sitting in 95° in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I had scheduled a flight that day (Mon., June 26th, 2023) and due to the technical difficulties that I faced that day I was forced to rebook and pay extra for a different flight the next day, as well as miss an extra day of work back home in Colorado. The staff were helpful and patient, but at the end of the day the technical difficulties at the storage site were incredibly inconvenient and resulted in me spending much more time/money in Albuquerque than I had originally planned.

Staff also said they would close our unit for us but did not end up doing so. Not necessarily the biggest issue since the proper procedure instructs you to close in person, but being told something and then it doesn’t happen is sort of frustrating. Nevertheless the unit itself worked and was great.

Had the trailer 2 extra days 1 of which because I was involved in an accident the day after I picked up the trailer ( the trailer was not attached) the 2nd day was because the road was closed due to the weather. My original drop off location was going to waive the fees Because both were no doing of my own. The location I dropped off at started a huge wave of issues going fwd. They stated I bent the trailer because of my accident which is funny to me cause the trailer was never attached to the vehicle during the accident... But when I tried telling the the idiot up front didn't wanna hear it. Did catch his name but he was in a rush cause his shift was over. Not so great at customer service. I've used y'all's services many times and this will be my last. I was told to hold onto the trailer until management called me... I still have yet to get a call but I'm not stupid so I returned the trailer after hours..and when I tried to check it in online ...funny part it could only tell me about my storage unit nothing about a trailer... This was by far the WORST EXPERIENCE WITH U-HAUL!! I do want to add the gentleman who did the storage set up for me seemed like he was new but he was professional.
