Check in was a little wonky, but not awful. They didn’t get it in the system so they called me when I was about to be late (4days after I turned in the trailer). Good thing they did because I would have been charged. Good that they took the time and fixed the problem.

Unfortunately, the location was understaffed when I arrived to drop the trailer. I had to wait for 15 to 20 minutes to get help. To be fair, the manager was doing everything herself and training a new team member. She was apologetic and friendly.

The rental experience was good! Easy rental, clean truck. Only complaint: I live on the neighborhood, and it's extremely difficult to see past the trucks when turning left from Canosa into Alameda. Often times the trucks are pulled so far forward that they are blocking the Alameda sidewalk for pedestrians and blocking the site line for drivers on Canosa. I think cement barriers further back would be an awesome addition to your parking lot to ensure trucks are parked in a safe position for sidewalk users and drivers.

Employees were very kind and helpful. Uhaul did try to charge me a lot over for fuel, the vehicle I pick up had 14 miles until empty, when I dropped off I returned with 35 miles to empty and the app. Was trying to charge my 75 dollars for fuel. Not okay

#1Got set up with a storage unit for my move and after getting the receipt of the order 30minutes from leaving the store I saw that it was 3 hours away from my preferred location after asking 2x If was good knowing my location was rural. #2 Didn’t get told I would need to take pictures of the truck before leaving the lot. #3 Was unaware that where I was going didn’t have an actual U-Haul, only drop off locations. The drop off location brought me to a Walmart parking lot. #4 I was not told that I needed to do the drop off on the app. I’m not old I get technology but geese for $1,300 and 2 days was not worth it. I would have rather spent way more on someone else. #5 We had a trailer towing a car and helped put it on with no direction on how to take it off with us not having a place to drop it off. #6 We got the truck with a quarter of a tank spent $80 on filling it and left the truck with more gas than we got and had to pay $60 on gas on the online check out?? Huge disappointment. No more U-Haul for me….

The attendant was helpful and gave us direction on how to return truck via the U-Haul App. We told them that we stopped at a U-Haul neighborhood dealer in Nebraska when the engine light came on. They said it was just an O2 sensor. We relayed that information to Alameda drop off site and they said they would take a look.

Shortage on staff, manager looked annoyed, almost wished I didn’t show up, no explanation whatsoever regarding rental process, he assume dim doing this for a living… will never go back there! The app sucks big time, even if I accepted to download an app that I don’t want to my phone and put all my personal info, it wouldn’t work and couldn’t do the check out without the help of your night manager that was overwhelmed by the queue of customers as he was working alone, but still he did manage to help.

I told the guy that I was driving 15 miles maximum he put in 30 miles. Each place I was driving was only 3 miles apart and I only went to each place twice. You’re stupid ass. U-Haul app doesn’t work and doesn’t allow you to take pictures so then you can’t complete the pre-assessment mileage for the U-Haul truck and I got charged for the full 30 miles when I didn’t drive 30 miles because your app also doesn’t work. Why am I even going in a freaking U-Haul store to have somebody tell me to use an app that doesn’t work?

If I had known that picking "check-in at counter" would be the person at the counter telling me to check in through the app, I would have just downloaded the app to check in and pick up my truck. I didn't because I didn't want to download the app. I rented the truck, which was fine, for a few hours and my drop off time was 9pm. I was done with it earlier, so I went to drop off the truck right about 7pm, which is when this location closes. I was doing usual after-hours drop off since that was the original plan and I didn't want to bother the employees who I was sure were trying to go home on the super snowy day my rental was. Instead, when I went to park the truck like the app asked me to do, the employee came over and yelled at me to bring the truck back to the drop-off in the back since they were "already closed" and the employee wanted to go home. I left both check-in and drop-off feeling frustrated and disappointed with the experience, and to top it off, the few hour rental was almost $100 which is insane.

I spent 25 minutes trying to get my rental this morning. Uhaul has decided that interacting with an app instead of the human being that sat behind the desk that could have easily checked me in and taken all the info is a better idea. It is not. Customer service matters and this experience was awful. I had to wait five minutes for the agent on the app to ask me to remove my hat for the picture I took vs. the human that was behind the desk that could have taken my picture and told me the hat needed to be removed. Poor experience all around because their wifi was very spotty and uploading pictures wasn't happening the way it should.

Sabo and Shawn were awesome, respectful, kind and so helpful! We had a bit of a hiccup with our reservation, but they were so patient and helped us and walked us through everything. Customer service was horrible. The man who checked me in was rude and not helpful at all, making passive aggressive comments, and not showing me how to use the truck or even walking me to it. He was dismissive and completely inattentive. I would never ever ever recommend this location to anyone again. It was a horrible experience that nearly put me in tears. The only way I was able to get into my truck and figure things out was because of a kind man who is returning his truck when I went to go look for mine. The person who checked me in and wouldn’t even tell me where the truck was, he told me to go look for it and when I wandered around for a while, he finally told me I was on the wrong side of the parking lot. unbelievable.

My van had one bad tire. There was a snowy hill, and we got stuck. Who drives around with one bad tire? Who lends a car to a friend with one bad tire? Who rents a truck fir hire with one bad tire? This bad tire resulted in a wasted day. What if we got injured in a vehicular accident? Now I will make the move with several trips in personal vehicles. No to future U-Haul business.

The passenger side rear view mirror would move on every bump in the road. Made it EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE!!! I could not see my right side blind spot the entire time driving or merging. Will be using Penske next time instead. Very unsatisfied with my rental. U-Haul vehicles are old and beat up and need to be taken off the road. You have the “biggest fleet” because you rent shitty old vehicles to customers.

When I picked up the vehicle, one of the onsite managers, Shawn, was incredible. He was so helpful and informative and just very positive, friendly, and personable. I would've rated my experience at this location as "Excellent" if my drop off experience had been the same. Gavin, who is the owner of this location, was onsite when I dropped the Uhaul Van off. Upon dropping off, he refused to check out the vehicle and continued to tell me that I had to use the uhaul app to complete the drop off. I informed Gavin that I didn't book the uhaul through any app and never received a link to return or anything of what he was telling me. I was also working and didn't have time to perform a 'self-checkout'. He told me I would have to if I wanted to be "protected". I informed Gavin that I've never been forced to do a self-check out when returning Uhauls and I do have experience in this because I rent uhauls as part of my day-to-day job nationwide and I've always been able to return it and hand over the keys. Gavin's customer service is significantly below average and because of my experience with him, I chose to rate this location as "average". If I had only interacted with Gavin, I'd have rated this experience as 'poor'. Shawn should run this location, he's truly an incredible asset and Gavin is LUCKY to have an employee like him.

The employees were unhelpful and inaccessible. When I arrived for my order, there was no one at the desk and I had to track someone down. This person (the manager) told me to use the app, and was only willing to help me once I showed that the app had given me an error. Similarly, upon returning the rental, the app struggled to load due to poor cell service. I stood there for 10 minutes, and finally returned using Google Chrome instead of the app. Only at that point did an employee approach me, and rather than ask if I needed help, he said "looks like you're having the service issues we deal with." I said, "Yeah, I wish someone had come out and helped me" and he replied by saying "I've been on the phone this whole time." This is not true - I watched him chat with a worker who was under a car working on a hitch. If the location has cell service issues, then anticipate your customers' needs and get a wifi network set up and post the password. Don't approach me and be unhelpful. I will avoid this location in the future.

I found the return process to be rather confusing. It almost felt like I should have clocked in for my shift at U-Haul, it felt like the customer had to be an employee and do the work of returning it rather than handing the keys off to someone and waving goodbye. I assume this is a standard across the board for this company and had nothing to do with this particular location. The staff were very helpful though and I appreciated their patience and expertise. They staff handled everything well.

The equipment was not properly checked in when returned before me so it took extremely long. When I returned my equipment the person checking me in did not offer me a receipt and several days after UHaul contacted me requesting that I return the item. I still have no receipt although I drove all the way back to return to their location to support the business instead of dropping off at my destination. I would recommend because this that helped me when I came initially were very helpful informative & professional. It was crowded when I returned so I was more understanding.

The communication at this location is not always clear. I told them I paid for a dozen blankets but that there was a bag of blankets already in the truck with the green seal. They responded that I can break the green seal and use those, so I should just grab one extra bag of blankets. Then when I returned the truck I got charged for breaking the seal on the blankets in the truck. The same thing happened with the dollie, I was charged for breaking the seal even though I didn't even use the dollie. I had no idea that breaking the seal would incur a charge. I assumed that if the equipment was in the truck it was mine to use. More transparency would be appreciated.

Even though there were 2 employees right there (including the general manager) when I returned the truck, they still made me use the app and take all of the pictures and do all of the work that they should be doing. Is that normal practice now? Why have employees in that case? If it was after hours, I could understand having to do it through the app, but not at 12:30 in the afternoon...
