To be honest, I was very displeased with this U-Haul experience. I had made a reservation by phone about full a month prior. I wanted a truck and a trailer where my car was entirely off the ground and onto a full drive up trailer. When I showed up there were not any full trailers available and was told that I could either use the two wheel dollie or drive to another location to get a full trailer. I was pretty frustrated with this but ultimately agreed to do the two wheel because I had a 12 hour drive ahead of me and did not want to waste more time going to another location. The employee that opened the store, Hayden C (Upon drop off, I was told to use his name for this complaint/review) was in a very bad mood. Which I understand we all have bad days, but he was fairly unprofessional for the whole interaction. He tried to hook up the dollie and was cussing and yelling and throwing the dollie to the side because the tail lights were not working. Very unprofessional. He then told me I could go to another location or wait for him to fix the tail lights. I reluctantly said I would wait. He spent at least a good 45 minutes stripping the wires and trying to reconnect everything and did manage to get it working, but it took a long time. After he finished that he said ok you're good to go, just drive it up on there and secure it with the straps, I got other customers I need to go help. I said arent you supposed to secure my car to the dollie? I'm like 99% sure that is your responsibility to make sure my car is safely secured to this thing. He said you've used ratchet straps before right? You can figure it out. And then he walked away. I have used ratchet straps before, but I had also never used one of these dollies before. I then had to strap it to the dollie myself. He came back out and helped me with the secondary safety chains, but I was very angry at this point. It was now at least a full 90 minutes past when I had already expected to be driving. I am not happy with this experience at all, but also all my U-Haul experiences in the past have been pretty smooth, so I do feel like this was a bit of a fluke. However, I let the guy know at the dropoff location in Portland Oregon that I would like to make a complaint. He told me to use the number 834083 as the store location and the employee was Hayden C. If I could possibly get a bit of a discount or at least some kind of small compensation for this experience, it would be greatly appreciated.

I called cause i needed to extend my rental and he had it done is 2 minutes! The manager at this location is always so helpful! I could go on and on but I rent uhuals probably 5x a year and anytime I have an issue the people here are always going above and beyond to fix any problem!

micheal dTruck had problems after the initial move. We were stuck with the truck for 3 hours. Called the Jewell/ Garrison Rental. They could only tell us to call The Roadside Assistance. Spent from 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. waiting for help, finally gave up and got a ride home. Tried dealing with a very rude young man at the same U Haul office and finally left after being cussed at and called "stupid old idiots". After talking to many people, we finally got a very helpful man in Arizona who arranged a tow truck at 8:30 p.m. that night. This U-Haul is still trying to charge us the full price for less than 4 hours of use, and only 8 miles used. This qualifies as the worse experience with any company. Nickie Donnell

Store is well stocked and organized with all needed moving supplies and lots of box options (including all inclusive kits with various packing supplies, box sizes, and tape). The staff is knowledgeable and helpful in providing excellent advice. The vehicle rental was highly efficient, easy, and quick check out and check in. Dylan helped with my vehicle rental. He was very efficient and explained everything in detail including mileage and gas/fueling policy (he was very clear about how it all works and the importance of ensuring the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level to avoid additional charges.) Returning the vehicle was very easy completed in under 5 minutes. (Check out took 10 minutes tops). Naturally the $19.95 rental is the base rate and does not include all the taxes, fees, mileage rate or the pretty much required insurance. The rate is closer to $35 to $40 a day (depending on mileage it could be more). It is still a great deal and the service was amazing. Highly recommend this location. Dylan and his team are amazing, efficient and kind. We will definitely use them again.

DAVID LThe personnel were not especially helpful. When I dropped off a day early, I was told that everything was "good bro, you are good to go". A day later, I received a voicemail from the drop off location number stating that my rental was due and he would give me 10 minutes to call him back or he would mark me as late.(The truck had already been dropped off the day before). I later saw a late charge for my rental which I had to call UHaul about and clear up (GREAT service there). When I then called the drop off location to confirm, I was cut off mid explanation after he told me to call whatever location I had dropped the truck at....despite me trying to tell him that I had dropped it off at their location. After he realized their error, he then asked me why I was calling since he didn't see any late charges anymore. Someone needs to bring some professionalism, accountability and customer service to this location.

Francine MWhile we were glad to be able to get a trailer on short notice, we visited the store slightly early but were turned away because it was not the exact time for pick up, we asked why and the attendant said the trailer had to readied. so we left and decided to wait across the street at an adjacent lot, being the uhaul parking lot was rather congested. While we waited we witnessed that the attendant was not seen doing anything to ready the trailer?, so he flat out lied. the was dirty inside and out. To us we just wanted to get underway. when we return the few minutes later the attendant spent a lengthy time in the bathroom leaving the store unattended. This young was not very helpful nor knowledgeable about available accessories we had interest in. As we sorted through the items, he stated lots of people buy these items and simply return them that way the item could be used and that would save money. He didn't help hook up the trailer and while was taking pictures of the trailer he said that is not necessary but i did anyway. I was not pleased at all this experience.

Austyn HStaff working has assisted with multiple pickup/drop offs recently for me. Staff is kind, helpful, and does their best to assist you, even when they’re pretty busy. Have pulled the 6x12 trailers behind a 4Runner for 700+ miles, over the continental divide, and around the Denver metro traffic and felt comfortable and confident pulling the trailer, the trailer brake assist is great and makes things much comfier.

When I returned trailer, I asked what the total chage would be and was told there woul be NO additional charges and a couple days later I received an invoice for 135.30 in addition to the 105.30 already paid. And I can't even get a reason why im im being charged more! Do not recommend.

I was really inconvenienced by having to take the truck back to where i got it from which is out of my way and charged me more mileage just to bring the truck back. That’s not fair or convenient at all.

Conversely, the person who “helped” me never came out to see the vehicle, got visibly annoyed that I entered the building, and was incredibly rude when I couldn’t understand him ask me if I refilled the vehicle and had to repeat himself. Also, he charged me for 4 gallons of fuel when I went exactly 22 miles. Not an inch further. So that was an extra $20. So yeah, not a good overall experience for me or reflection of U-HAUL by an employee.
