It is difficult to gauge how much gas to put in when it’s given to you with half a tank. It is much easier if the gas is full and that way you return it full. I spent much too much time trying to get the gas gauge to read half when I was given half and I did follow directions on how many gallons to put in that they gave me on my receipt. The gas gauge didn’t move and didn’t move and didn’t move until it moved way past half.

GLENN MI was giving a U-Haul truck and the door was defective. The latch got jammed at the top and I couldn’t close it which made me an hour late to my move in appointment to get my keys and also made me miss my parking appointment. Bob came out and fixed it and said he would apply a discount but when I returned the truck someone different was working and said Bob didn’t actually work there and shouldn’t of spoken on Uhauls behalf. That was weird because who did U-Haul send to help and why was he lying about working for U-Haul.

ANTONIO MThis was the second time in leas than 4 months that Uhaul failed to have my reserved equipment available on time. My pickup time was delayed by 2 hours and when I got there, the vehicle reeked of tobacco and marijuana smoke. To make matters worse, even though MY reservation was delayed, they wanted me to drop off the cargo van in less than 24 hours so the reservation t me can pick up their reservation on time. Not a big deal because I ended up returning the same day anyway, but what kind of logic is that?

RAFAEL OTruck was empty when I got it which was frustrating because I was in a hurry to get to our storage unit and meet my family. They had to wait for me to get gas. Plus, something was wrong with the truck gas inlet and I couldn't get the gas pump to continue pumping. Every 0.1 gallons, it would auto stop and I had to keep pulling the handle (like 90 times to get 9 gallons!). There was a strong gas smell also, but there was no gas on the ground or spillage and when I was done, the gas gauge was around 1/3 a tank. This same thing happened when I got gas at a different station on the return, so I think it's the truck, not the gas station. I suspect that's why the previous rentee returned it empty ... he couldn't get gas in the truck! The U-Haul employee was very helpful and I appreciate you giving us the $40 credit for returning the truck at 1/4 tank.
MICHAEL NU-Haul locations were great: U-Haul management consistently is pathetic and clueless. After the website pointed us to a location and unit, U-Haul e-mailed an alternate site and smaller unit - the site was a 3-hour round trip away. After many cluless individuals and hours on hold we finally reached a rational person. Were able to get a nearby site and the original unit (but later turned out unit was a smaller version).
