To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the customer service I received at one of your U-Haul locations. The experience was not only unprofessional but also disrespectful and unnecessarily combative. For context, I picked up a U-Haul vehicle through my employer, GardaWorld. The reservation and payment were handled through the company, so I did not interact with the rental process personally, nor was my email associated with the reservation. When I picked up the vehicle, it was at a quarter tank of gas. No paperwork or documentation was provided to me at that time. Upon returning the vehicle—still at a quarter tank—I was asked by an employee at the front desk whether the tank had been filled. I responded that it was at a quarter tank when I picked it up. The employee, a man approximately 6'0"–6'2", caramel-skinned, wearing glasses and a tan shirt, then asked if I had documented that on the rental form. I explained that I had not received any form. Rather than offering assistance or understanding, the employee became defensive and stated it was "my fault" for not having the form. I asked for clarification on whose responsibility it was to provide this form, but he avoided giving a direct answer. When I pressed again, he became visibly agitated, raised his voice, and began pointing and gesturing at me in an aggressive and demeaning manner. I calmly asked why he was speaking to me that way, to which he replied, “You’re talking to a grown man.” I responded, “Aren’t we both grown men?” He then walked away, muttering something under his breath. Another customer who witnessed the interaction later commented, “I can’t believe he would talk to you like that; you’ve been very controlled and respectful.” I appreciated that someone else observed the situation objectively. When the employee returned, he threw the receipt at me and said, “You have a good day.” I asked, “Why would you throw this at me?” and commented, “What a great display of character.” He responded, “You don’t know me,” to which I replied, “I know enough to know you need to work on your character.” He then told me to “get out of my store,” at which point I left and immediately contacted U-Haul Corporate to file a complaint. To be clear, my intention is not to get anyone terminated. However, if I were the branch manager of this location, I would be very concerned about having someone like this representing the company. His behavior could easily deter future business and damage U-Haul’s reputation. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as no customer should be treated this way under any circumstances.

Sharon KThe guy at the location was a 1 man band. He did the check in, check out, propane and everything else without any help. Uhaul aught to be shamed for what they are not doing

Cathy JDoors did not want to close easily. Exterior was dirty. Seats were torn. AC did not work very well. The mileage charge seemed high, over $1 a mile for local use.
CHRISTOPHER AThe license plate light has been missing for over a year now. No license plate light is a violation of traffic law and is ticketable offence.
Margus KThe receipt I received is not very detailed. I have no idea if I got the rate I was quoted on the website. Person at the site was just going through the motions and not a very happy person so I really didn't want to ask any questions because he was clearly not in the mood to be working that Sunday morning at 9:00 am.

Ahmed JThe pick up location wrote the wrong mileage and I received a charge after drop off of over $3,200 on my visa when I owed nothing. I had to spend 90 minutes on the phone to fix. Wrote gas amount wrong- had to correct. Drop off location tried to tell me I couldn’t leave it there despite text instructions from U-Haul to do so. Absolute nightmare beginning to end.

ROGIER DThere was only one person working the desk and the phones. He was apologetic about the long wait and was patient with everyone complaints. I feel more workers at such a large establishment would have been beneficial. Also the storage sizes run small for the price.

THERESA PThe car trailer had 4 bad tires with diagonal tread wear. This unfortunately caused me a blowout which really ruined my plans. First truck assigned to me, the door didn't open. Second truck had a worn out shifter that made it more difficult to change gears. It also had an issue maintaining an electric connection with the trailer. Not sure if it was the socket on the truck or the trailer line was malfunctioning. All of the equipment should have been tagged out and probably not given to the customer, especially the trailer. This made for the worst experience I have had with uhaul. I will give props to the roadside assistance that helped me with the blowout. It only took an hour to have a mechanic arrive. Not bad for middle of nowhere on a Sunday evening. Props to both the dispatcher and the mechanic for their timely rescue.
ALEXANDER RThe person working at the store yesterday Sunday July 20, 2025 was not good at customer service. Store opened at 7:30 yet was still locked at 9am. He didnt greet the customers warmly, didnt make eye contact, and talked really fast that you didnt understand what he was saying. I've had pleasant experiences at this location but yesterday was not one of them. The guy really needs a workshop on working with customers.

RODERICK SI made my reservation over the phone and the agent i spoke with was very friendly yet professional. I love the way he handled my call. The young man at the front desk was very patient, and that's a big plus for me because I'm elderly and handicapped. He took his time explaining everything and answered all my questions making sure I understood everything. I would definitely recommend this location to family and friends!

DONALD BMake sure the fuel level is accurate. In addition, do not charge for a fuel adjustment if fuel is inaccurate. Now, I, the customer has to watch for an actual receipt for accurate adjustments. In the case that it isnt adjusted then I will have to call and request a refund for fuel.
LARESA AThe gentleman that help me get the U-Haul was excellent. When I returned the U-Haul and I went inside to get a receipt. The lady inside had a nasty attitude. Looked at me. Real bad was not talkative just all around rude. I didn't like that. She made me feel uncomfortable besides her. The location was great
CEDRIC TExcellent service. Maybe tell people about text when leaving for plate and damage check. I left my phone in my truck while talking to tech when he hooked up the trailer, I didn't see the text until the next morning.
VERNAN FAfter arriving at the U-Haul office to pick up the truck we realized we’d left my 93 year old mother’s purse at the restaurant we’d eaten at. Because I live out of state and didn’t know the area, your female employee helped me locate the restaurant so I could drive there, retrieve the purse and get back in time to get rent the truck. She was so extremely helpful!

VERSHANA VDoing it on line I didn’t get no paperwork saying how many miles I went or gas I used it cost 58 say 60 to rent I only used for exactly 2 hours and should of been less mileage I only drop Off load at storage on telegraph 91/2 mile road and dropped off U-Haul right after my drop off.
