For this rental I rented in Iowa and dropped off in Connecticut. The person checking the trailer in was very focused on ensuring every blinker light worked properly. I've rented from U-Haul before and never experienced this level of detail around the lights. Otherwise, everything was good. Two lines for drop off, went smoothly.SCOTT B.

Kevin Sweete helped us confirm and see the trailer a day prior. Then called later in day to confirm what we reserved was available. Also that day Anthony Jackson checked our trailer lights. Both gentlemen were friendly and helpful. Great assets for your company. Day of pickup it was just Kevin at the counter . He had 3 computers going and handled the customers and stress like a pro. He then helped is hitch up our trailer and checked our hitch. I've used uhaul many times throughout the country and Kevin was the most efficient and knowledgeable uhaul employee I have ever had contact with !JENNIFER E.

Mobile self check-in should have a disclaimer on it: "If you're planning on using the mobile self check-in feature, please arrive an hour in advance to complete the check-in, make sure you're in studio-quality lighting when taking pictures of your driver's license and selfie, be a semi-pro photographer, activate the 'Big Brother" tracking feature on your phone and reenter information multiple times." It would probably have been easier, quicker and more efficient to have waited in line and checked in at the counter than using the "convenient" mobile self check-in.Matthew D.
1.) The contracting process was extremely slow, with one customer each 20-30 minutes. I had a reservation, and it still took at least 15 minutes. 2. Plexi barrier and the quietly spoken attendant made it almost impossible to hear anything she said the first time she said it. I had to put my ear to the counter where the was a space to hear her, which probably defeated the purpose of the barrier. 3. There was NO process in the yard. I walked out of the office and had to ask another customer what he did to get service. He told me to back my vehicle to the general location of the trailer I wanted and try to get someone's attention. 4. I dropped my trailer at the equipment return, and a woman working in the yard asked, "Are you gonna leave that there?" I asked her if the equipment return area wasn't the location where I should return the equipment. She said, "It's okay; next time, just put I back where you took it from." I have a pretty low expectation of UHaul's office performance, but my experience was disappointing even with my low expectations. I am also assuming that no one is going to read this comment, but I am hopeful that someone will.Dwight A.

I thought manager Kevin Steele was excellent, responsive and friendly. However, I had trouble with the concept that I reserved an in town vehicle for like $19.99 plus free miles and a $14 insurance fee and then I got a call that night that UHaul only had one way vehicles, but they could provide me that for an upcharge. And it felt really cheeky to me that the company could simply, by categorizing a vehicle internally, force me to pay a higher rate. I needed the vehicle, so I couldn't protest the upcharge and take my money elsewhere, but it seemed a really sneaky, crappy way to extract another $50 or so out of me.Kenneth K.

I was very impressed with "Anthony". He was literally managing the place by himself during the day, with numerous customers needing a variety of services -- both in-store (packing materials) and rentals. He was just as capable and polite at day's end (6:30 pm). At night, there were additional staff (two women), also very good. Thank you. Will certainly recommend UHaul in the future.Alyssa P.

Technical issue: Returning to my house around noon I have noticed a big dark puddle on my driveway. The truck was parked overnight and lost some antifreeze but, I did have a chance to see the paddle in the morning. Before starting unloading the truck a had to place a piece of cardboard on the driveway because it was leaking badly. Integrity of the company: When I was getting the truck, the clerk informed me that if the truck will not be refilled, the company will charge me $4 per gallon of gas which is 30% more than at a pump. So, to be safe I refill the truck completely before returning it counting on reimbursement for extra fuel which was 1/8 of a full tank. To my surprise, the company does not compensate customer for overfilling the equipment. I do not think that anybody would understand this logic. It is clear that money for this company is more important than integrity and reputation.ANATOLIY D.

The only problem I found is that when you rent the vehicle you tell them that the vehicle has a half tank but in reality it is short and when you bring it back it has to be exactly at the half tank mark. This has happened to me both times within the last monthJOSE M.

Two things come to mind. First, a few basic instructions about the setup of the truck would have been helpful. For example, I did not realize that the truck engine always begins in "Load/haul" mode, or even what that meant, until I was almost done using the truck. A couple short words as I picked up the vehicle would have been helpful in this regard. Secondly, UHaul's business plan appears to be "Don't charge much for the basic rental in order to get the customer through the door, and then find a way to upcharge them for anything you can possibly add on as quickly as possible." It makes me, as a customer, feel like a target, rather than a client. The only other truck I have rented in the past year was from a different company, and it was a much more professional and pleasant feeling. Their upfront cost was higher than UHaul's, but there were no add-on's dangled in front of me, and the question about extra insurance was a small one, rather than the incredible hard sell in which UHaul engages.TERRY S.

Customer service was terrible. The manager was upset and he didn't care that there were customers in the store. Trucks were being returned and there was no one cleaning them and putting them back. The young man at the counter was not helpful when returning equipment. It truly left a sour taste. Too bad because this is a very convenient spot.Maria R.

People are dumping their furniture in front of the main access way. Not only does it make it inconvenient but it also make the storage look like a local dump. Your staff do a great job making it clean but that recycling idea that you guys got have to go because it simply turned into the local dump. 95% of the things that the people left is straight up GARBAGE that can not be salvage.
