I reserved a dolly, the kind with four wheels, along with the U-haul truck. The rental of the dolly was $7. To my surprise, at the time to pick up the truck, the U-haul lady told me that they did not have a dolly available, BUT BUT BUT they had the same kind of dolly for sale, for $20! That's a shame. So, instead of the question "what can we do to improve for the next customer", how about the question "what can we do to make it up for the current customer"? If you could refund the difference of $13 (along with sales tax), I'd be very much impressed. My friends would certainly hear my story with U-haul, how it ends is now up to you.Renhao L.

I was overcharged for this rental. The person responsible for this was unable to remedy it. I was told to call back the next day, which I did. I spoke with someone, who said he would have my money refunded. I was originally charged $48.44, and then another $40.96. This person said that the correct amount should have been $52.73, which he then charged my account. He indicated that the $48.44 and $40.96 would be refunded. My conversation with him occurred on September 19, 2021. My bank has no record of ever receiving the refund. Over the last 10 days, I have called the business where the rental took place multiple times, but they just pass me off to the customer service line. After 7 or 8 times calling that number and being left on hold indefinitely, I still have no recourse for obtaining my refund.Mary B.
The original location for my UHAUL reservation did not have the vehicle I reserved and provided no timeframe or assistance to rectify the matter. After contacting UHAUL corporate, they found me a vehicle at a different location, but which was farther away and for which I was then required to pay the additional milage and fuel. This whole affair set me back by nearly 2 hours, causing conflict with the other parties who were assisting with the items I needed to move. Overall I am frustrated by the overbooking policies that allowed this to occur and the inflexibility to work with customers to provide alternative solutions when this arises.REBECCA H.
Don't trust reservations, they will cancel them on you. I reserved a truck the night before. When I went to picked it up they told me that it wasn't available, then they sent me to another location. I get there after a 30 mile drive only to tell me that it isn't available either. Once again, they send me to another location and the same story repeats itself. I requested the day off from work so that I can move all my belonging to my apartment. The truck swtiching took me 4 hours out of my time. I will never use Uhaul again.Kelvin C.

Then claimed I had not refilled the tank to the agreed upon location which is not true as I had just left Sam's club gas station filling it up. I was notified by text 1 hour before check in that my location had changed, ONE HOUR!! I then spent over 30 minutes trying to find out where that new location would be on hold waiting to talk to someone. It cost me to have the guys wait. The new location was over 10 miles away which I was ALSO CHARGED FOR. When I got to the other location I was greeted by a pleasant female. As I was asking her about a credit I was supposed to receive in a very calm way(PLEASE CHECK VIDEO IF YOU HAVE IT!) a guy (Ricky?)in a dress shirt 3 rows over started yelling at me saying i wasn't going to take money out of his drawer and was going in circles. I asked ONE TIME why the credit I was supposed to receive couldn't be applied to the rental. He (Ricky I believe his name was) screamed that I would have to deal with corporate. Add to that that none of the staff were masked. It is a CITY MANDATE in Brookhaven. I have rented from U-Haul directly and indirectly many times, never have I been treated as less than a human being. I would rather hire a moving company than do this again. They would have been on time, my dignity would be intact, and I would have had far less stress. Moving is very stressful anyway. I did not deserve to be rescheduled at the very last moment, charged extra because IT WAS NOT MY MISTAKE, nor treated as a subhuman being. I work for the NGLCC. (National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce) and it's local Atlanta chapter. I feel I may have been discriminated against because I am gay. I would like reassurance that this is not the stance of corporate.david G.

Change oil light came on shortly after my trip began and I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. I was not able to see the odometer due to the message.GILBERT T.
I used the app which proved to be difficult and the assigned truck was not where the app said it would be so I had to go inside and wait for a 1/2 hour while the only employee helped the person in front of me. I felt really sorry for the three people behind me. I was hoping the app would mean an in and out smooth experience- but it didn't. The employee was very helpful but he was the ONLY person there on a Saturday morning. Not good!!!Susan B.

You call the night before to change location and pick up time. Phone agent was not prepared with the new location and suggested an office 50 miles away in cartersville GA. Ended up pushing my start time back 3 hours. When i arrived at the new location, the truck and moving blankets were clean and ready but they did NOT have the Dollys i requested. Of course i got charged for them anyway. Uhaul made an already stressful move even more stressful.Nancy M.

Disappointed that my reservation was not held. The truck was very clean but the running gear was very noisy and sluggish (only 33,000) miles on the vehicle. The customer service representative was not attentive.MARK A.
I found the "Owner" to be somewhat rude, dismissive, and frankly a little racist, I watched her interactions with the black customers and the white customers and she was elitist and demonstrated her discontent for the non-African American customers. Very much treating them differently.Randall D F.

My Uhaul experience was terrible. I initially rented a 5'x8'trailer. When I arrived at the dealership to pick it up I was told I need an attachment piece and a harness (which had to be professionally installed) on my called hooked to my brake lights. This was never explained to me when I rented the vehicle. SO I could not use the trailer. I asked for a 10'truck. There were none in a 50 mile radius. I went to another location and they told me all of their trucks were already reserved. so the original location found me a van at another location. When I picked it up it smelled like a barn full of horse manure. I spent 5 hours and went to 3 locations just to pick up my rental vehicle. When I went back to the 2nd location later that day to get some rope the attendant said "oh guess what we actually did have one 1-' trailer avail.e The owner had just never bother to look up in the system. The UHAUl reservation system is not reliable. The hold time for phone calls is over 30 minutes and the the people on the phone do not want to help find a solution. They just want to pass the buck. I reserved a 15 foot truck over the phone and when I arrived, they said they did not have the truck I reserved. I had to use a 10-foot truck, which is the largest that they had available. This caused delays in my move, I was not able to put as many items on the truck and had to make several trips back and forth. This caused me to have to hire movers for additional hours. Please work to ensure that customers that reserve a truck can receive what they order when they arrive. Thank you.Shanise P.

I made an online reservation 6 weeks ahead of time. When I arrived at the U-Haul location, they didn't have the trailer I reserved so I had to go to another location to get the trailer I needed. If you're going to have a reservation system, you could at least make sure that the reserved equipment is where it needs to be. The employees at your facilities were fine, but I was far less than happy with your reservation system not working.Wesley H.
The location was not the issue. I was told I could drop the truck off at one location. And when I did. I received a call the next morning telling me that I needed to pick up the truck because they couldn't keep it they didn't have the space. They then said I needed to bring the truck to another location almost 45 min away from my original drop off location. After calling and fussing they finally told me I could drop it off at the Clairemont location. When I arrived the woman was nice however she told me I could not leave the truck there even though I have literally just gotten off of the phone with them and had text message confirmation that this is where I was supposed to drop it off. She came back outside after a few minutes and stated I could leave the truck. Over all U-haul experience was horrible. Oh and I have to pay someone to come from an hour away to come and pick up the the truck that they told me I had to pick up and move to a different locationShacquan M.
I've utilized this specific location for 2 different moves! Both times have been a very smooth process for storage! The first move, I stored my belongings for 3 months. The second move I stored my belongings for 7 months. My only complaint would be the stench in a unit near mine, so I'm not sure that there is much the company can do about that. I give this location a thumbs up, and will definitely return if I need to again!! I wish they would call or text me the day before or day of to confirm. The first time I tried to reserve a truck I arrived to find that they did not have one (I did change the pick up the day before, but they should have let me know before I drove out there that it was not available). I know they had my contact info; I can a confirmation text after reserving the truck even though there was no truck. No issues once I got the truck. I am a long time customer that has rented trucks on a monthly basis for years. This was by far my most unpleasant experience with U-Haul. To start, the truck was in poor shape. The steering was loose and the wheels were out of alignment giving one the sense of steering a boat on open seas. The brakes were even more problematic. In order to get the truck to stop I needed to pump the brake pedal repeatedly or literally press it to the floor and pray. I don't expect state of the art machinery, but the trucks should be kept in safe running condition. Checking the truck out in the AM was easy. I did it in person at the counter. Returning the truck was a nightmare- virtual checkout did not work, the counter help was AWOL, and when she returned was unhelpful and abusive. I will absolutely avoid this location in the future and will consider other companies for my truck rental needs..Deirdre O.

Tiffany was wonderful! So friendly and knowledgeable about all of my questions. The facility is very well maintained-super clean and it even smells good inside. My only suggestion would be to place a U-Haul sign at the Clairmont Rd entrance, as I thought I was in the wrong lot, only seeing Sam’s Club when I pulled in. Honestly the employees could not have been nicer, but we had a little bit of a hectic time getting our unit. It was a very busy day, so there was quite a wait (certainly not the employees fault - just stating that). When we got our access card, we were very disappointed that we couldn't get an access code. One card is not convenient. Then the card would not work to get us into the building and I had to go back to the busy office. It was re-programmed, I went back to the elevator, and up to the 3rd floor we went, only to find a lock on our unit. Back to the busy office to get an employee with the master keys to take off the facility's lock so we could store our items. Honestly this experience took WAY longer than it should have due to all of the glitches. The pricing is also extremely high, now that I have had the time to check comparable storage facilities in the area. Terrible service, no call back from manager to follow up. Sales clerk gave me the wrong gate code 3 times then assured me everything was set and when I got to my storage there was a lock still on it. Was promised 30 days free from customer service and denied at the facility. Typical. Called customer service to verify and Was told the uhaul truck has to be booked for a one way trip in order to qualify for the 30 days free. Cool. However that’s not what was explained to me. Requested a manager who listened to the recording from my initial call and heard that I was promised 30 days free and said she would rectify the issue. She didnt.
