The location and building are fine. The two representatives that were there were fine. But I'd made an online registration with a 10am pick up. I stood inline for more than an hour waiting for a representative to get to me. What's the point of setting things up online if you still have to wait in line (for e than an hour) with everyone else? First thing is make your reservation system work. I reserved a trailer weeks in advance to make sure I didn't have any issues because I had a small window to pick up custom made cabinets. On the morning of the rental, I did the online check in and it moved my reservation 20 minutes in the wrong direction without any input from me. I called the number provided and I got transferred where I stayed on hold for 15 minutes or so. When I got someone, I told them that there was a U-Haul location a mile or so from my house and she was able to transfer my reservation to them. If you already had my address and if a location had the equipment a mile from my house, why wasn't it transferred to them instead of 20 minutes away? Then when I got to the location, after the online check-in, where I already uploaded my drivers license and completed the process, I was in line waiting due to lack of personnel available and technical issues of people not being able to login to the system, for around 30 minutes. By the way I was third in line when I got there, it is not like there was ten people in front of me. When I finished inside, then they could not find the trailer. After all was done, I was at U-Haul for over an hour to pick up a trailer that I had already checked in online for, â€œto make the process fasterâ€. So no, I would not recommend this to a friend and I will look to find other options the next time I need to rent a truck or trailer.Timothy H.

This was a last minute need for a trailer on Christmas Eve. The associate at the Clairmont location was friendly and efficient. We had an easy set up and simple drop off. Thanks !JAY L.
Honestly the employees could not have been nicer, but we had a little bit of a hectic time getting our unit. It was a very busy day, so there was quite a wait (certainly not the employees fault - just stating that). When we got our access card, we were very disappointed that we couldn't get an access code. One card is not convenient. Then the card would not work to get us into the building and I had to go back to the busy office. It was re-programmed, I went back to the elevator, and up to the 3rd floor we went, only to find a lock on our unit. Back to the busy office to get an employee with the master keys to take off the facility's lock so we could store our items. Honestly this experience took WAY longer than it should have due to all of the glitches. The pricing is also extremely high, now that I have had the time to check comparable storage facilities in the area. The reservation confirmation sent me to DeanMart Shell on Northside Drive. This was no where CLOSE to where my vehicle was (2885 Clairmont Rd NE)! Why on earth did you send me there? I had to pay for TWO Ubers to get me to the wrong location and then to the correct location. Would UHaul like to reimburse me one of these fees? The truck driver door had no key lock, the interior was uncleaned and the floor in the cargo area had the rivets previously destroyed. So the first time that I entered the cargo area, I stepped into the hole and dropped the washer. Upon returning the truck the manager "graciously" didn't charge me for the pre-existing "damage". My contract required a utility dolly but none were available. That required a lot more physical exertion for the move. To top it off, I was charged a $1.00 for not having/returning to utility doll that I never received. This is my 2nd less than adequate U-Haul experience. Likely going elsewhere next time.JAMES H.
The equipment was clean, but the vehicle had issues that should have been conveyed with me before it was given to me. Opened late. Inadequately staffed. However, there was an employee, Ebony, at the location who maintained her composure and multi-tasked magnificently. She was so calm and collected that everyone waiting relaxed and got their vehicles Cargo van had tire pressure warning and oil change messages illuminated when I picked it up. Don't go there .They steal your money. I rented 12 furniture pads 3 ready to go box and a truck from this location on September18&19th. I returned everything on September 20th.And they keep charging my card .They took around 320 dollars for the furniture pads and 2 ready to go boxes bcoz they didn't checked it in when I returned them.they just stole my money.There is no option to put zero star.md H.

I had booked a 20' truck. U haul location tried to give me a truck which had faulty lock. I had to down grade & take a 15' truck. Which caused me inconvenience while moving. The truck I received was not up to the mark. Pickup was not smooth & it only changed gears after 3500 RPMs. Not an ideal situation to be when you in middle of moving. All in all a bad experience. First when arriving to the location, I tried to log in on my phone to collect my truck. It was not out. I waited 45 mins to see the lady. She than proceeded to tell me I was to late to collect the truck. I reminded her I was in line waiting. She Told me my drivers license was not enough to identify me and needed my boyfriends phone number to call him and verify me. Mind you my boyfriend was standing next to me. After the worker pulled the truck around she refused to put. Any x on the truck where there was damage she just yelled to me to take pictures on her way in. I don't fault the location or their personnel at all. It's just that the gate of the trailer was held together by long screws (obviously not original) and it was LOUD as hell on every bump in the road. Coming from someone who doesn't tow a trailer often...it made me think the whole thing would come off the hitch at any moment. I get it, it's a rental. Many people have rented it before me...but I don't think I should be worrying about the trailer coming off or the gate falling down throughout the process. Figure out a way to secure the trailer so it isn't clanging all the time. I was impressed with your check in and out process...how it was so smooth...now figure out a way to make the towing smooth and you have a winner! ;)ALFRED B.

I use Uhaul for convience and customer service. In particular, I do NOT want to participate in the connection or disconnection of UHauls to my car. I had 3 conversations with the 800 number to make sure that I was assigned locations that would help me with these tasks. Yet, upon returning my Uhaul trailer on 10/15, the Atlanta employee refused to help disconnect the Uhaul from my car. Instead she stated that it was against policy to do so. A second employee also refused to help. How can a UHaul employee refuse to help in the decoupling of a Uhaul trailer from a car??? Further, the employee refused to assist in disconnecting the electrical wires from my car to the trailer insisting that I locate the wire cord under the chassis to return the entire wire connections. Only after I tore up insulation in my Subaru and was under the car did someone inform me that the wires were permanent to my car and did not need to be returned to Uhaul. She further refused to remove the UHaul hitch for storage in my car. I expect professional service in the connection and disconnection of UHaul to my car and I did not get it. When picking up the vehicle, the customer service associate was taking personal calls while trying to help us. It took over an hour to pick up my pre-reserved vehicle. I tried to pick it up with the online site and it wasn't working. The idea is great in theory, but not if it doesn't work. I gave a rating of above average due to the arrival of a new manager, Vita. Initially the management was very poor when we rented a space on 10/2. We were assigned a space which was already rented to someone else. Then we were reassigned to a unit with a broken latch. No one on premises knew how to open the latch and they reported they would ha e to have a new latch placed. We waited to place items in the unit until 10/12. The latch appeared to still be broken. No one on the premises prior to 10/12 knew how to fix it. Enter Vita, she knew immediately how to open the latch, not broken, just had to maneuver properly. She handled our truck rental very efficiently and we moved without a hitch thanks to her. This was her first day on the job and she made our move a great experience due to her competence. I would have given the highest rating if we had not had the poor experience prior to her ariving as the new manager. I would recommend this location for space and vehicle rentals to everyone. First, the CSR was very friendly and efficient. But, she was the only one working. One person working on a Friday. I would not recommend this location for the following reasons: - understaffed - no one to help dropping the trailer without extended wait for the one employee. - the trailer i rented came off the hitch as I was driving, so I'm guessing they didn't put in on 100% - the parking lot is small and the aisles between the storage units are hard to navigate if even one person is at their unitLARRY F.

I'll start with my move-in experience which was 2/5 stars. The gentleman checking me was a.) rude and b.) borderline incompetent. I had to ask him how I was supposed to enter/exit the facility which he replies "oh yeah you'll need a code". He also forgot to give me a card to swipe in and out of the unit on top of not giving me directions on how sign-in/out process worked or even where my unit was located. When explaining my situation to him, he was sarcastic and said "you need to sign-in of course". He also forgot to ask me to bring back a lock and another item from the unit and asked me to get them one at a time. I'd return with one item and he'd go "well what about this item? I need that as well"...The lady who was working on that day is the only reason it didn't get a 1-star review as she helped me move the U-haul because I didn't feel comfortable navigating the 26' in the tight corners Fast forward to the move out process. I went to the physical location because I wasn't able to move out via the website, and I spoke with a worker who was helping another customer but wrote down my name and unit number and said she'd move me out after helping the customer. Unfortunately, she must have forgotten and on the 24th of September, I got an email on the 27th from the GM saying my rent was past due. I replied to the email explaining I had moved out on the 21st and that I spoke to an employee on the 24th. In addition to emailing the email, I called the facility and once again an employee wrote down my name and unit number and said he'd move me out. On the 28th, I spoke to a U-Haul customer service rep and she said I should go down to the physical location and speak to the GM. So, on Oct 1st I went to the location and was FINALLY moved out after learning there currently isn't a GM. In short, between the truck issues in Houston and this process in Atlanta, I'm done spending over $1k per move with U-Haul. End rantRyan M. | Overall Experience

For the most part everything was good, however I had to buy a pair of bolt cutters because the attendant did not take the lock off the back of the trailer door, and I wasn't driving back to get the key. Then they did not provide instruction to drop off the trailer after hours, luckily I figured it out but it would be nice to have all the information before one leaves.Kendall T.

Terrible service, no call back from manager to follow up. Sales clerk gave me the wrong gate code 3 times then assured me everything was set and when I got to my storage there was a lock still on it. Was promised 30 days free from customer service and denied at the facility. Typical. Called customer service to verify and Was told the uhaul truck has to be booked for a one way trip in order to qualify for the 30 days free. Cool. However that’s not what was explained to me. Requested a manager who listened to the recording from my initial call and heard that I was promised 30 days free and said she would rectify the issue. She didnt. I made an online reservation on May 1st for a drive up storage at the Clairmont storage for May 5th check in. It showed 2 drive up storage areas available and I RESERVED one of the drive up units. I called on May 2nd to confirm my reservation at the storage area for May 5 and they said everything okay just bring ID etc. When I showed up at 7:15am May 5 I did not get her name but there was a card Samanda Lora told me that there were no other drive up storage available and they booked me for indoor storage 2nd floor. I asked why this happened and got no reply why but this is what you get nothing more. My issue was I was meeting my movers at 8am and paying by the hour to make the move. I did not have time to find another facility and I was going to pay these movers by the hour. I took the unit and got a free lock WOW! While the movers were loading my furniture on the truck I called your 800 number and got a very nice lady and explained my issue and she came back and said she talked with Eddie and they found a drive up storage and Eddie was waiting for me. I immediately got in my car to go take off the lock on my 2nd floor and go see Eddie about my drive up. On the way over I did receive a call from someone (Eddie) but did not answer because I was driving and only to get to the Uhaul place and have Eddie saying he made a mistake and there was nothing he could do. I GUESS MY ISSUE HERE IS WHY TO YOU HAVE A SYSTEM THAT WHEN YOU RESERVE SOMETHING IT DOES NOT RESERVE WHAT YOU WANT! I NEVER FOUND OUT FROM THE 2 EMPLOYEES WHY THIS HAPPENS AND IT SEEMS TO ME A BAIT AND SWITCH. UHAUL IS BETTER THAN THIS AND I WOULD EXPECT NOTHING LESS. I GOT A FREE LOCK AND PAID MY MOVERS AN EXTRA HOUR MORE TO MOVE ME BECAUSE WE COULD NOT JUST TAKE IT OFF THE TRUCK AND PUT IT IN THE DRIVE UP STORAGE. I have decided to give this location 2 stars only because they have a kind manager. She was helpful & efficient BUT.. On February 29th I reserved a storage location, my friend & I showed up & were forced to deal with a lady whom was not helpful. She would hand us the paper with the storage numbers and price & give us the key card to look around on our own because she "can't get up, too old". She was rude & asked us the same questions over & over again because she was not paying attention. I came back to the storage 1 week later on March 8th & my key card was denied, I go into the office & was greeted by the Manager & the same unhelpful lady, whom looked totally different this day. Due to her lack of attention last week, She put us in the wrong storage room. The manager was helpful & solved the problem. But I definitely paid too much money to have my access denied & spent 20 minutes re-entering the information that their employee inputted incorrectly.
