On Dec 9th I made a delivery appointment for Saturday, Dec 12. On the 11th, I checked on it as nobody had called me. The appointment had been moved to the following Wednesday with no phone contact, just an email. I had to accept that and was told I was the first delivery of the day. I was at my new apartment by 7:30 on the 16th and nobody tried calling me. Before and on the delivery day the driver was apparently calling the wrong phone number and stating I wasn't responding so she did not deliver our Uboxes when we expected. It took several phone calls to get them to deliver that day by mid-afternoon. Hired help had to be paid for their trouble and my 68 y.o. wife and I and one son unloaded two U-boxes by ourselves over the next 2 days. Then they charged me for another month's rental (which was finally credited back after I called to complain.) The local office doesn't know what's going on and you have to call about two to three different numbers to get to the person who can help. The complaint number the local office gave me was out of service.CLAYTON W.

The hold on trying to phone is intolerable; the chat feature (this is UHaul in general) useless 50% of the time. The driver who delivered my containers deserves a raise; she was terrific (so, too, the driver here in KY). Never been to the ground facility in ABQ so cannot judge with accuracy. The U haul track smelled heavily of Marijuana and the location never alerted me of this - the rep did not even walk me to the truck and just said here at the keys. The manager advised that the smell would wear off. This is terrible as my belongings are all damaged.Javier T.

Nobody was in the lobby and had to go looking for someone to help me. Couldn't return the truck to another location which caused me to have to drive all the way back to Albuquerque from Santa Fe to return the truck. Ended up changing plans to avoid extra time/mileage/expense. 10' truck wasn't available at closer location to me so had to drive to Coors to get a 10' truck. Coors U-haul location is a confusing location and time consuming to get to because it is behind Walmart down a dead end street. One way rentals should always be available from a moving truck company.Sara B.
Unlikely. I recently (10/10/2020) rented a pickup for evening transportation of a telescope for sky viewing. I have been a customer of U-Haul for many years. Two issues in my recent experience distressed me, and I am unlikely to continue to support U-Haul. The first issue has to do with PII. When I completed my on-line clearance, I provided my driver's license number. When I arrived at the rental center, a young person using a cell phone in a very casual manner took my photo and also photographed my license. I believe it goes without saying that PII should be handled in a highly confidential manner and discarded when no longer needed. In my opinion a pre-clearance of my license could have been completed before my arrival, and a visual check of my license and identity would be sufficient at the rental center. The manner in which this was managed did not inspire any confidence in the security of these processes. The second issue has to do with the pick-up and return procedures. I was not informed at the rental center that I needed to make a visual inspection of the equipment nor provided any means to document mars on the equipment. After leaving the center, I received a text message to this effect, but when I discovered it, it had expired and I was unable to respond to it. When I returned the equipment I was greeted in a hostile manner by the center manager who accused me of causing a dent in the body of the pickup, for which I was not responsible. In my opinion the center should maintain its own records of its equipment and a representative and the customer should make a joint inspection of the equipment before it leaves the lot to clarify any damage to the equipment before and after use.Daniel J C.

I would only add that all customer service representatives that take incoming calls to know each locations rules and expectations for their customers. What I found was that the info given over the phone while I made my reservation was not accurate at the time of arrival in Albuquerque. That upset me because I had requested a storage unit in a specific location and no climate control, outside. When I was at the location something else was being given to me that I did not request. I feel that communication and setting the correct expectations to customers is key! All customers should know what their reserving and what they are paying for.YUDIESKY G.

I do find it a bit conflict of interest that you are required to buy a Uhaul lock (though it is nicely discounted). If you.use another lock, they will lock you put of your unit until you buy thier lock. On my case I had recently become homeless (it's better now), and I was surviving selling items from my unit. I could not afford thier lock, and they caused me to lose sales. They were unsympathetic, even with other people arguing for me. Crappy policy. Oh and if u lose they keys to.thier lock whichl they force you to buy, they can't help you. Call locksmith at your own cost.
