Carly, claiming to be the manager, and a male employee in training, took photos of both sides of my driver's license with their personal phones. I know that U-haul provides necessary equipment and these employees should not record my personal information on their personal devices. When I questioned Carly, she became angry, refused service, and threatened to call the police. Manager Carly refused to delete my information from her personal phone. A third male employee followed me out and continued to threaten me. I am now forced to take my business elsewhere. Please provide proper training to your unprofessional employees. The customer service was wonderful! The gentleman that help me both times was very helpful and friendly. The truck however smelled very strongly of smoke and whatever was used to try to cover the smell didn't work and made for an unpleasant drive. The location and the agent were terrific. You're contactless rental by mobile phone is a complete disaster. We arrived a few minutes before our scheduled time at top of the hour and it was 27 minutes later before we were driving away with the truck. Our rental was only for 2 hours so this wasted 1/4 of our time. Pandemic or not I will never use your contactless system again.Robert P.
Hire a new manager ! Train your help on customer service skills ! Repair your equipment ! Ramps are barely operational. If you can pull it out your lucky, once it's out it doesn't want to go back in all the way to lock. I rented trucks two days in a row with the same ramp issues. You would think for being a corporate store and the largest in Fort Wayne Indiana, that it would be run much smoother with well maintained equipment. I could go on but I'm sure it would be a waste of my time . I have used this same store in the past with the same experience ! Slow service from the time I walked in I was there for about 5 minutes before anyone came out to assist me. Upon returning the equipment it says to stay in truck/equipment and someone will assist you, no one showed up. As I'm about to get out the truck the assistant decides to help the guy that came in after me with his trailer return. Not a good experience at all.Corvetta K.

The manager at this location is awful. I rented my truck with no issue, but needed to get some tow straps so I had to come back in with my husband. The woman at the counter was helping another customer. While we waited in line, another person came in behind us. The counter employee went in to ask for help and he told her he was busy. While we waited in line for another 15 minutes the manager never came out. After the line was about 6 people deep, I informed the manager that there was a line and no one at the counter. He got very snarky with me and told me he was busy trying to fix an issue with a customer that was overcharged by $500. This made me very leary of continuing with the reservation of the truck. He told me that his employee would be back and we would just have to wait for her. I waited a few more minutes without anyone else coming to help. I ended up leaving the tow straps and going to auto zone where I was in and out in 5 minutes with better quality straps and much better customer service. This man has no business being management. He is rude to customers and shares personal information of other customers that he has no business sharing. The rest of the rental went smoothly.Christie T.

I only drove 21 miles but I had to put 25.00 worth of gas in the truck. When I complained about it the agent she said the trucks don't get many miles to the gallon. I think they put down the improper gas amount to begin with.Lorraine B.

Staff rely way too heavily on the digital services! This was my first time renting a U-HAUL, and I signed up to pick up my rental through the app (which requires a lot of information); upon arriving, I dropped by the desk to verify information and was promptly redirected to go outside and use the app. The app wasn't working, so I went back inside...where staff attempted to send me back OUTSIDE to use the website. Picking up a U-HAUL should not take 30+ minutes.Emma R.
Upon returning the trailer, the female attended stated "let me know if you need any help unhooking it." Surprised, I ask "when did they change their policy to having customers complete this process?" She did not answer my question instead stated "I always ask if the customer needs help." I stated to her "That is not what I asked you." To which I received a blank stare. I then said nevermind. We have been renting from U haul for well over 20 years as a military (retired) family. We will not rent from this location again. This final action provides bad customer service and is a very bad practice for the U haul by shifting the final placement and safety of a trailer to the customer.Michael C.

I returned the truck and the clerk directed me to sweep the truck out although it was cleaned out. When I said i didn't believe I needed to sweep the truck out and wanted to take pictures of the truck to prove it was. Lean she said no and shut the truck doors and told me to leave the property or she was calling the police. I said I have a right to document how I left the vehicle. If it was as dirty and damaged as she claimed then my pictures would prove her point. She said no and denied my access to truck said she was charging me a cleaning and damage fee and then called the police on me. This clerk should be fired! Caused severe emotional distress and charged me fees that should never have been charged.Janen M.

The staff there is very rude! I ordered a truck 2 wheel dolly and furniture dolly a week prior to pickup. When I picked up the woman told me they didn't have one. I told her I ordered it a week prior. She said " you can order anything you want , it doesn't mean you are going to get it" she was also very rude on drop off as well. I don't think I or my friends will use uhaul again! I definitely would Not USE THEM AGAIN! I also left your truck and equipment better than I received themDonna R.

My only issue was with the numerous locations in the Lakewood area. We ended up going to three different locations to find the box to unload. Needs to be clear instructions and street addresses on contract. In addition, when reviewing contract online, web site provides UHaul customer service number which is different from UBox customer service number. Number should match contract type. But overall a very good experience. In particular, Denise at the Fort Wayne location was invaluable ... extremely helpful and upbeat, even with all of the COVID restrictions. She definitely needs a raise or promotion or both.Ketta N.

We rented trucks twice this week to move to a new home. Both times when we tried to check in online after hours we had trouble doing so. I would like to suggest you have another option for people to check in after hours. What if your phone doesn't work or you have no service? I don't think one should have to pay $20 more just because their phone and/or your system goes down. Maybe offer an alternative way to return with a phone call? It would have helped us, and helped your crew not have to refund our $20 after we came in the store to show the time stamped phone pictures we had of our returned truck. Otherwise, we had a great experience at this store and with this store's manager, who was the one that helped us with our check in issues a few days later.Jeffrey W.
I requested a UHaul with Cruise Control and did NOT get one. I understand it is "what ever comes in I get" but either replace all trucks to HAVE Cruise Control for ALL or at least ATTEMPT to get one when requested by a customer. Driving long distance without Cruise is a real PAIN in the ankle and leg trying to maintain correct speed.Jim S.
I booked over the phone with headquarters for 6:30 pm Friday to 6:30 pm Saturday. When I arrived at 7:48 I found out that reservations are canceled if you show up more than 30 minutes after the reservation begins. Because I gave a credit card, I assumed it was mine to use any time during that 24 hours. Also, the employees at the pickup location were upset that I got there so soon before they closed at 8:00. They said they don't help with checkouts within 30 minutes of closing. Luckily the guy set it up so I could stand outside and use my phone to still get the truck that night. None of these policies are bad, it was just challenging for me because I didn't know the policies until I had broken them.Ben I.

We never received a card to get access to our storage locker and that was difficult to get into then when we tried the code I entered when we bought the locker my code was changed.
