Why is it so expensive to rent to local customers that's not going out of town? Is there a discount for military? What are the prices on the side your vehicles represent , because you are paying a lot more then the prices you see on the vehicles so why have the prices there?BERNICE T.

The staff was late to open the store. My pick up was scheduled for 8am but the store doesn't open till 9am however the employees were late to open the store 15 minutes. Additionally, the employees were not knowledgeable and showed little care in helping me. The associate gave me the contract and pointed at the truck and then walked off. They were not helpful in scheduling my drop off as it was defaulted to a location 60 miles from my move location. They said just call the number but I was already had a late start with a long day of moving. I'm the end the extra miles cost me an additional $50. Though most of the staff seem friendly and they are willing to correct most issues. I found the restricted hours to be most inconvenient. The security system does not work well and has system issues regularly. I was offered a free month for my inconvenience, but I would not store here again. The management is good but I do not have faith in most of the locations employees to be able to full assist me. Overall not a bad location. Monica Bowers was exceptional. She actually had to put me in another truck due to a prior mileage/post check-in issue. The original truck had 200 more miles than stated in the system. Throughout the process, she was very courteousFORACE B.
This is not my first time renting from U-Haul. The location has plenty of equipment but is short-staffed and/or poorly trained and managed. I had to wait 30 minutes for an employee to basically tell me which trailer was reserved for me. The trailer had good tires and was in good working order. I observed a couple of small cockroaches and spider webs in it when I picked it up. I cleaned them up when I got home. The move went fine. The U-Haul website would not accept a photo from my phone and therefore would not allow me to complete my rental. I called the 800 number at 10:35 p.m. Friday 8/27 & waited 30 minutes on hold. Nobody picked up. I called back at 8:15 a.m. Saturday 8/28 and was disconnected three times in lieu of joining the hold pattern. I returned to the store to complete my rental and had to wait another 20 minutes to get anyone's attention. The person who ultimately helped me was a U-Box employee who was supposed to be doing other things. Poor experience in website and at this location. To whom it may concern, I had a terrible experience with Uhual on August 7, 2020. I made a reservation in store at the Wrightsboro road location for August 7th at 10am. When I showed up to get my truck, there was not one available and no one could explain how it happened. I waited for 90 mins before being sent to the Broad street location for a truck. After arriving at the Broad street location, they told me that they don't have anything available and were unsure why I was sent there. They then found I was supposed to be sent to the Gordon highway location. I was able to finally receive a truck after waiting 45 mins there. My reservation was set for 10am and I didn't receive a truck until after 1pm. This is unacceptable and inconvenienced me and everyone helping in the move. I would greatly appreciate some form of reimbursement for my experience.T'SHAWN C.

Have an attentive staff. Have staff that actually cares for the job they are doing. I arrived there and waited a total of 40 minutes to pick up the truck. And while we waited for someone to actually help us the line of people got longer and longer. And when I got the truck it was dirty and not cleaned out. The only saving grace was that the guy who helped me was willing to clean out the truck.Jon H.
The truck was wiped down inside but the fragrance was very bad. The building was very clean and the service was excellent. However, Uhaul needs to send all the old vehicles that have reached their limit to the junk yard. The truck I had was the worst one ever. The engine light stayed one. The mileage indicator came on once I reached my destination. Had difficulty adjusting the seat to reach the pedal and lifting the back door up. Kept hearing a ping noise coming from the engine. The truck body had deep scratches on both sides and the antennae was bent out of shape. The truck did get me where I needed to go within the hour I had it. I just hope no one gets that truck if they are traveling a long distance.Elaine V.
The cab of the truck had spilled dog food beneath the seats. One of the U-haul reps strapped my car onto my tow trailer, but when I stopped for gas 1/4 mile down the road I found that one of the straps had come completely undone and my car had begun to slip off the trailer. The truck cargo area had roaches. I was overcharged by $1,590 huge complications of my time and money. Two employees quit because I didn't have the funds to pay them that day. The owner Jeff rectified the money situation. The employee Alvin looked as if he had no remorse at all. This is not a small mistake you can't check in a vehicle without the vehicle being there so in my mind it was malicious and irresponsible. And a huge example of someone who is definitely not doing their job correctly or is committing fraud at the workplace. I recommend that this employee be terminated immediately. At the time that I am writing this complaint. The bank has not cleared my account funds. Because of this transaction. This is so frustrating and there's nothing I can do other than wait till the process clears up with the bank. Because of this I have suffered a huge inconvenience and financial loss. This mistake should have never happened you should not be able to check in a vehicle that is not there on the premises. I will be contacting an attorney to see if there's any further actions I can take.HILTON B.

This was the worst experience of my life. The most incompetent group of people I ever met. The boxes came late the 1st day. Around 6pm when scheduled by 4pm that day and only after I called multiple times for it. The boxes once packed and had to be picked up June 30th as it was my last day at the residence. After calling the main office, the local office, the office that should've picked it up and just not having ANYONE answer the phones, emailing and chatting with useless customer service reps the boxes were picked up 3 DAYS LATE! Then I had problems Scheduling to get the boxes dropped at the new property. Again there is noway of reaching these people using the number provided, I had to keep a worker's personal number so that I could reach anyone. I was promised they would be dropped off Monday July 12th, I was called the day before changing to Tuesday July 13th by 12pm, 4pm the latest. Did they reach Tuesday? Did anyone call? Was I able to reach anyone for hours and hours of calling and texting the so called driver to get any answer or response? No, nothing. Just did not show up, no call no message. We had a moving company scheduled to unload the boxes that I can to change from Monday to Tuesday and then to Wednesday in hope that the boxes would get dropped off. They finally got here Wednesday, there were no ramps (we were told they were stolen on their site-so my boxes were not safe), we were not given anything to accommodate the fact that there was no ramp to unload anything. The boxes were also set at the bottom of the drive way as they could not bring it up, even though that was never something that was requested or had noted on the site that would prevent us from using the boxes. Just that they needed a flat surface. Then, while the movers were unloading, the boxes started to roll, the movers had a direct line to uhaul and alerted them at 11am that the boxes were rolling, they first told her that there was no hill. (Remember they couldn't put it up the driveway because of the hill). They did not come to check the rolling boxes until after 3pm. It has been a fight with these people. When they finally show up they are polite, but the worst professionalism, timeless, experience and likelyhood to recommend they get 0 for all.Elshardi E.

Very poor customer service from office staff. No one was available at the site, had to drive to another site to confirm my reservation. Staff member didn’t want to honor my previously signed contract regarding my free month of storage. He then lied to me telling me Uhaul changed the offer, not knowing that I had already had a contract number. Once I showed him my email from Uhaul, he said he would give me the free month, but acted as if he had a problem with it. The unit I reserved was for a 10x20, upon entering the storage site, the unit he gave me definitely did not look like a 10x20. I was told storage access was until 7pm, so I left to pack my belongings onto my Uhaul truck that I rented from another location. When I returned at the storage site at 4:30pm, the doors were locked and there were 5 other Uhaul customers waiting and looking for site manager. I patiently waited but when the site manager arrived on the site at 4:50pm, he said the site closed at 5pm because it was Thursday. No one told me this beforehand. He said he was only going to open the door for a customer who had about 3 items to put in her unit. He was rude so I just took my lock off my unit and rented storage from another company. I have always been a Uhaul customer and I plan to continue renting trucks, but I will NEVER rent from the Gordon Hwy location again.EDGIE M. | First Impressions
