CSRs are always extremely rude and there is never the trucks in stock that are showing available online. Truck needed an oil change. Have an issue every single time I have been to this location. Almost always end up leaving and going to the location on Waverly. If this wasn't closer I would never go to this location.

Low energy customer service. I felt like I was an inconvenience to the employee. I was expected to go out and find my own vehicle and clean snow off the windshield. I would have expected the employee to take me to the truck so I did not have to hunt for it and then, at least have a brush in the truck. My truck should have been cleaned and ready for me to go. He told me I should have brought my own brush when I asked him to brush off my truck. His attitude was lackluster at best. I secured my rental online a day prior. So I would have expected them to know that I was coming and that should have given them time to prepare my truck. When I rent another truck, I will certainly go to a different location. It's the little things that make a huge difference in perception of a brand or company.

I would've rated excellent the young man who installed the hitch was fast and very nice but while I was sitting waiting a customer come in for propane fill the fella said OK I'll be right out he stared at his phone for about a minute before putting it away putting his gloves on and slowly walking out to fill the propane I feeling should've dropped everything and followed the customer out.

Customer service could be a lot better. When signing the agreement and paying for your rental. Information should be discussed. Correct info should be discussed as well. I purchased an appliance dolley, the truck did not have one. I had to come all the way back in the rental to pick up the equipment I purchased. Which added more miles on the truck. I was charged for.

When you schedule appointments, keep the appointment. You sent us 4 different locations to pick up the truck! Further, I requested a 26' truck…you tried to make me take a 15' truck after a phone confirmation that my truck would be ready! Further Still, after getting my truck 2 hours late, driving 3 hours to pick up a truck and then got back to my original confirmed location, they had 3 of the trucks like the one you made me drive 3 hours to pick up!!! I cannot even call it poor customer service! Words cannot explain how irritating it was to have you not only inconvenience me as a customer but to cost me an additional day of my time to comply with your poor scheduling!!! Try changing to a different profession. You will not be around long if you continue treating your customers the way you are!!!

I reserved a pickup truck when I got to the location the young man checked me in said he was going to pull the truck around waited outside then he gives me the keys and tells me the truck is on the other side of the lot it was not a pickup truck it was a box truck I went in and told him I did not Reserve that truck he told me that the pickup trucks were in the shop I asked him why wasn't I notified so I could have went somewhere else he told me he did not know I think I should be compensated for this because I did not like driving that truck and that's not what I paid for.

FYI, Left rear tire was heavily cupped. Destination U-Haul dealer said they will pull trailer out of service without a full safety review of the trailer. Otherwise, we love U-Haul and their workers!

Lansing, Mi franchise is terrible. Terrible. Neither professional or courteous. The minute my charge was approved delivery date of pods were changed from Saturday to Tuesday. i paid the assistance for moving heavy items for that scheduled Saturday for half day for wasting their valuable time. Pods arrived Tuesday. i loaded myself with broken elbow plus broken wrist. During this loading time Lansing decided my household belongings needed to go from old address to Lansing then back to Jackson's new address. Lets compare point A (old address), point B (new address) a 15 mile cross town move. Point A to point C (Lansing) 40 miles not including the Point C to Point B (and additional 40 miles back to Jackson. Calls to Lansing were met with extreme resistance. Basically i was told "That's how we do it, if you don't like it call 1-800 number". i called 800 #. 4 times resulting in disconnections after extreme waiting time. i changed and utilized internet. 4 more attempts with lengthy waits until my objection to my household good going on a state tour versus 15 miles across town were understood but i was informed i needed to call 517 number. Long story short eventually my household goods were spared the state tour and went the 15 miles from A to B. In the mean time i am being inundated with emails and text messages from U-Haul. 20 each. Recommended i get 2 pods. Told if unused i would get refund. Only used one pod. Lansing called stating they needed an additional $150 to pick up my goods at A and deliver them to B. No problem i give account number for another gift card to pay. Ask about my $59 refund for unused pod being deducted from delivery fee. Lansing "No can do. $150 to get household goods delivered to B". i pay the $150 and reinquire about my $59 for unused pod fee. Lansing "You need to go to Jackson UHaul for that". Of course Jackson UHaul very objection to reimbursing me $59 the Lansing franchise collected. So let us analyze: Lansing does not issue me my refund. Jackson understandable will not. Who in your corporate conglomeration refunds my $59. My understanding in conversations UHaul has a great reputation and the unnecessary difficulties/confusion is owned entirely by your Lansing Franchise. Unprofessional, discourteous, and by appearances at a minimum boardering on illegally scamming to collect additional fees.

Local trailer rental was successful, but the associated ocumentation is ambiguous - When I dropped off the trailer last night, I was told I'd receive an email confirmation, which I've not received. Later in the evening I completed the online return, which appeared to work, though the photos did not upload. This morning - on the Uhaul website - it appears the rental has been satisfactorily concluded ("received").

Gave me a van that had a leak in a tire. When I returned the van to the store, the guy who took the key was pretty rude. But thats not what really made me take the time to write this. When I originally went to pick up my rental, I had a super weird experience in store. The location was at the corner of Jolly and Cedar in Lansing, MI. The guy who helped me was ok, although he was not in a good mood but I don't blame him. His coworker next to him was rude as hell, making me and my friend and everyone else in the store feel super uncomfortable. Granted, the other people that were being helped next to me were being ridiculous, but I think the uhaul employee who was checking them out for their rental took it personally, and then yelled at the next customer. Super awkward, to be honest all uhaul locations I've ever been to (Florida, Kansa, Michigan, etc.) are usually gross but this was way too uncomfortable. I'm sure that me writing this will go nowhere but man yall employees need some help. Take care of your employees, because clearly in Lansing Michigan they are not in a good situation.

Have knowledgeable staff. I spent over a half hour with staff to pick up the reservation and an hour at return just for them to correct their error for me to pay cash. I had to ask for the GM, and then had to ask for HER boss to get my issue resolved (after she told them that the transaction couldn't be backed out). HORRIBLE!

You should have your own DL scanner if you want a copy of it instead of making the customer have to feel bad that they don't use an android or iPhone. If there were another truck rental service nearby, I'd be considering using them instead. You are in the business of customer service - act like it.

The online check-in was not great. Minor issues then it tells you to "skip the line" which I was not comfortable doing. Then I get my key and go to the truck and the equipment I rented was not there. I clicked this on my phone check-in abd it told me to go back insite and wait in line again! I had already waited 20 minutes in line and it was now 30 minutes past my reservation time. I did not go inside. I just left without the furniture dolly and regular dolly. Other than that it was great and a good price.

I moved a bunch of stuff because I was building a home and had to sell mine. My move in date for my new build had changed 3 times in 4 months and kept getting pushed back. Jordan was extremely accommodating and understanding. When I brought some heavy weight equipment to the storage unit, Tarale, helped me a ton. Both Jordan and Tarale were so helpful, professional, and kind! I will use this location again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a storage unit!!!!!

I went into the Cedar/Jolly location a year and a half to two years ago and it seemed like an unorganized mess. I was hesitant to go back but it’s the most convenient one. I was beyond pleased with the difference in cleanliness, customer service, and overall organization that I saw. Huge change from a year and a half ago! I was a little apprehensive about my things being safe at this store due to location but Jordan Martin took me to where my belongings would be held and showed me how secure the area was and that everything is under surveillance. Jordan was so friendly, personable, and reassuring which made me feel safe. I will be coming here for future services and also be recommending this location to everyone!!! Excellent job!!!! I am so happy with my experience!!!!

I have no disputes. The unit was clean and we'll kept. My issue with the employees was not the local employees. The issue was that I couldn't ever get through to management at Cedar and Jolly. Whenever I called I would get the phone service center. It was very frustrating.

The reason I did not give 5 stars is, because of the Access hours. I forgot to ask about it and the staff member did not inform me the day I got the unit. I spent close to an hour, trying to get through to customer service, to ask about the hours, just to find out the access hours is the same as the store hours, unless I wanted to pay to have after hours access. 😳

Honestly the entire reason my visit was enjoyable was because the guy who helped me was amazing. The best customer service I've ever received at any business in a LONG time.

I am rating an excellent for one reason, the boss Mr. O'Riley. he was very fair and exceeded expectations. However, the door situation and access is a bunch of BS. The doors never fin worked properly the entire time I was renting which was over a year. Totally fin stupid u cant get the doors to open properly...and stay open when they are supposed to after logging in and being in the unit. i had to prop the doors open everytime...including my last day...GET THE FUKIN DOORS FIXED!!!!!!

Automatic door into storage area isn't working properly; it would often be standing open or opening and closing on its own when I went to my unit. Anyone could have walked in.
