We were checked in by Caden (unsure of the spelling of her name) and she was great. Very quick to check us in, friendly, knowledgable. Returning the trailer was easy as well
JAMES WThere should be a sign on the door telling customers where to go. I witnessed numerous people try to find someone & couldn’t so they left. I couldn’t pick up my truck when it was reserved because I couldn’t find anyone. I had to get a truck the next day, which because of that I have to pay a $200 late fee because I wasn’t out in time. When I finally found someone at the store he was very polite but the other people I talked to on the phone weren’t the nicest or most helpful

FREDDY NWhen I returned all equipment, there was a line. The line was help due to an obnoxious, difficult, angry customer. The employee who was helping this customer soared high in the sky with his ability to deal with angry customer. I dont know his name, but he is in his 20's, black and has a broken foot. This guy of uhaul needs kudos, and acknowledgement from upper management. He was so professional and uhaul is lucky to have him working for the company.

PATRICIA WWhen I walked into the building, there were two people at the counter, a female, who is handling another customer and a male standing at a computer terminal. I approached the desk, and Brandon said “ you’re gonna have to wait right there”. I wasn’t greeted in a friendly fashion nor was I ever asked what I needed. After about 10 minutes, the female looked at me and said go bring your trailer around the side, you’re the guy with the RV, correct? She was incorrect, never asked me What I needed and again was fairly rude. I was there simply to drop a trailer off from a one-way rental. Finally, the male told me to drive around and he would unhitch me… I pretty much did it myself because he got distracted with something else. Didn’t bring the scanner out with him And was woefully unprepared. Let’s just say I was underwhelmed with my experience there.
Todd SSimilar comments as pick up location, we were told the morning of that our reserved drop off location was not accepting vehicles so we yet again had to go way out of our way to drop it off.
MICHAEL SAfter going to the East St location on the north side of Lansing, because I had a reservation there, and waiting for almost an hour, they informed me they did not have any vans the size I needed (even with the reservation). I asked if they could check another location, and this was the one that had what I needed. Once I got to this Cedar St location, it was quick and easy!

ERIC NFirst, when I went to pick up my U-Haul, I waited for 10 minutes behind one customer to simply get my keys. A extra worker walked up and I assumed I would get helped but she ignored me and until I had to physically say something even though I was in line. When I was checking out, there was not a specific drop box to drop off my keys to. I felt like I was wandering the lot trying to find the normal orange drop off slots I’ve seen at other U-Haul locations. I believe there are better locations in the area.

TED BThe utility dolly I reserved was not available because of “walk-ins”, it was unclear where the van I reserved was parked and when I asked someone to show me they acted annoyed. It should be policy to walk people out to their vehicles. That’s obvious. The vehicle also had a sign in the front of it that I was apparently supposed to know without any indication that I should take it down myself and keep it in the vehicle. The vehicle itself smelled like pee. The whole thing was a horrible experience and I will not be back to this location nor would I ever recommend it. What I do recommend is not giving out dollys that have been reserved to walk-ins, or having rude customer service representatives.

Mark PMy experience was poor from start to finish. My box delivery was delayed without any notification requiring me to make alternative arrangements for loading the boxes. Then when they did arrive instead of being empty, one of the boxes contained someone else's belongings and required being exchanged raising my concern my items would be handled carefully. My pick up from my departure location was then also pushed back a week again without any notification. When I called they arranged for the boxes to be picked up on 7/25/25 with repeated assurances my boxes would arrive at my final destination on time and I would be able to access my boxes on 8/1/25 without incident. Then I received numerous messages saying my boxes would be dropped off at my original location on 7/26 which I did not request. When I called raising this concern I was again assured my boxes were not being returned to me and would arrive at the destination in time for 8/1 access. The online timelines for arrival at the destination never updated and when I called 8/1 my boxes were still at the original location and had never been sent again without any communication or notification from Uhaul. My boxes arrived a week late and when I tried to arrange a pick up 24hours in advance I was told I would receive a call back several times which never happened before finally being able to successfully arrange a pick up date of 8/7/25. When I arrived that day, my boxes had not been prepared resulting in another delay as movers had been pre-arranged to unload the boxes at my destination. I will never use uhaul again for any thing what so ever and I will never recommend your services to anyone who inquires.
Corinne CMy only issue was the time it took to check out the trailer. Their was one worker and she was overwhelmed with the work she was trying to get done. She had a person who I think she was training but he was still learning and when she had to step out of the building to get another customer the equipment that she was ordering the trainee was unable to complete my transaction.

I have enough apps and accounts as it is and the last thing I want to do after moving all day is spend 20 minutes to figure out the return process. Create a streamlined process that takes nothing from the customer or provide a discount for doing the return without using an employee.

I called multiple times and no one would answer. I tried the online services and that was unsuccessful. There was no reply to the automated system that emailed me. The phone prompts kept transferring me to out of town stores. The out of town lady never called back. Three days later my son had to come in for service to cancel the storage unit. The unit was perfect for our items. Please improve the consistency of the front desk phone service. Thank You!
Rameisha R | Overall ExperienceMy storage was nice and clean when I moved in and once I came to get my things months later I discovered that my boxes, clothes sofa and love seat had mouse/rat droppings in, around and my child and I belongs and out things. You could see that they been crawling along my furniture, chewed bags of our clothes, and boxes of my child's things. We had to throw away most of the furniture along with clothing items for both of us. Once I seen them I took pictures and went to go speak with a manager which was Dimitrius at the time and he came and looked inside the unit with me as well seen that there was no food or anything around in my unit. He also took picture and I sent them to his email as well. He was very helpful about the situation but I'm still upset because we lost most of our things that I worked hard for.
Malaya C | Overall ExperienceThe only people that were nice and understanding was the people on the phone for customer service and the manager of the U-Haul store. The guy that I had spoke to gave us the wrong storage unit knowing that I told him that we had a whole U-Haul and I need a big unit, he gave us the smallest storage unit there was. So when we got there to unload our things we couldn't even get into the unit because how small it was, and the U-Haul place was closed so I had to drive back to Corunna where I lived. I had to have the truck one more night. When we went back up to the U-Haul place the manager was kind and helped us get a bigger unit. I am upset because I am still getting charged for the truck when it was not my fault that I had to go back to my house with the truck and then back to Lansing to return it. We did however get our stuff out on the 19, I did call and told one of the guys there that we moved our stuff out. Also there is a bolt by the storage unit door that is not covered and I literally hurt my middle finger knuckle it went into my skin deeply and it was very bloody and painful. I had used this U-Haul service in the past and I loved it was very pleased, but this time around I was and still am displeased. Again the manager of the store was very understanding and helpful.

I was hesitant to go back but it’s the most convenient one. I was beyond pleased with the difference in cleanliness, customer service, and overall organization that I saw. Huge change from a year and a half ago! I was a little apprehensive about my things being safe at this store due to location but Jordan Martin took me to where my belongings would be held and showed me how secure the area was and that everything is under surveillance. Jordan was so friendly, personable, and reassuring which made me feel safe. I will be coming here for future services and also be recommending this location to everyone!!! Excellent job!!!! I am so happy with my experience!!!!
