There was an unusual snowfall the night before, but I was disappointed that the access to the security panel had not been cleared. Plus there was a line of snow in front of the storage units. My problem is with Uhaul generally - I provided information about my move, and alternative pickup and drop off locations were provided. Apparently, mileage was calculated as if I were merely driving the truck to and from without actually moving, and the individual at the desk indicated that to add miles at the counter would be approx. $1/mi. I've used Uhaul multiple times before and the mileage was always calculated with room to spare (as if I were actually going to use the truck when moving). This appears to no longer be the case. To the extent the individual at the location could have resolved this, they chose not to. To improve for the next customer, you could calculate the mileage so they don't incur additional, unexpected fees.MICHAEL K.

I accidentally left my unit “locked open“. It was noticed by staff, who put an additional lock on the unit to alert me the next time I went in. But my unit was completely unlocked all that time, and I didn’t realize it. No one called me. My phone number and email are on file. My alarm card was never set up properly. When I open my unit, the alarm with sound. I heard the alarm siren sounding many times while I was in the office and in the storage area, but it didn’t seem too illicit any response from anyone. The main door, which is supposed to be accessible with the security card, was completely unlocked when I moved in and when I visited yesterday. There’s not much use of a fancy security system if it’s not being used properly OR even gives the impression to customers that the facility is not secure.SHANE T. | Overall Experience

Blew out 3 different tires on our trip. The first 2 times response was within 3 hours in snow. and freezing rain. Lost each about 12 hours apart. The third blow out of a newly replaced occurred in snow storm the following day and we had no cell phone reception. Flagged down a trucker who called u-haul for help when he had reception.also a highway maintenance worker stopped and said he would call. Five hours went by with no response and the maintenance man arrived with a replacement tire. We never heard from U Haul but completed our trip with no further problems.ALLISON F.
I was disappointed with the experience. I paid for the van rental, wool covers and the dolly. I got the van at night while the office was closed and there was no wool cover nor the dolly inside the van. And since I was on a tight schedule I had to drive to NJ and handle my carry without the equipment I paid for.HAKAN O.

At a time when things were quite stressful Tara and her crew helped to make things as smooth and stress free as possible. The storage area was spotlessly clean and excessive. I needed to rent a uhaul van and truck on two different occasions and Tara made that happen for me even though one of the rentals was at a different city. She reserved and had it ready for me. While staff was friendly overall, we were a bit disappointed in the fact that an original reservation for S. Willow St location wasn't honored, and forced us here where we needed to rent two units to get the same space as the original reservation which costs more to us on a monthly basis. Was not able to use contact free pick up. The truck was not clean and the worker was trying to clean it while I was there waiting. All of that put me behind schedule for my move. Upon my vehicle return, the worker said they did not have time to check in the truck because they were busy, but to leave the key and they would send me an email receipt. I don't know what they were so busy doing because there was no one in the store at the time I arrived, but other people did come after me. Then I find out the next morning overcharged me by a substantial amount. When I tried to call in to resolve the issue I could not speak with the local business, I had to speak to a call center rep who had no knowledge of the issue and told me that I was charged for approx 248 miles. I told her that is not correct. I literally drove this truck to the next town over (Manchester) approx 5 miles round trip to move a couch, then I brought over to my new apartment which is about 2.5 miles from the uhual place. I drove it back and forth between one apartment to another located on the same street, different unit. I probably drove it like 10 or 15 miles so, well within my declared estimate, but for whatever reason I was drastically over charged. I was told the manager would review the claim and get back to me but so far no one has called me. Terrible experience. I am not happy and will never reccommend this location to anyone. If uhaul doesn't reverse the charges I will be filing a dispute with my credit card company. I have never had such a poor experience in my life with Uhaul and I am very disappointed in the service I received.rachel S.

They were closed so I needed to use the online check in but I could not get it to find my location using Chrome. I ended up using another browser and it worked. The process was easy after that issue. I found afterwards I must have denied location services on that page through chrome which I now have learned how to fix. I would suggest a link on the error page to show how to allow location services. It was difficult trying to figure out by myself standing outside the closed U-Haul store.Stacie S.

After being bounced from two other locations due to Uhaul double-booking my rental, the staff at Bedford were amazing. There was a new employee being trained, and the young woman who was training him was patient and they were both kind. The third employee went to pick up the truck and drove it out front. Very disappointed with pickup arrangement. I scheduled a month ago to pick up in Manchester. Got call day before and told closest place is Concord . Not convenient but ok. On morning of pickup i get a call that there are no 10 ft trucks but she will give me a 15 ft( which i don't need). That's all available she says. On my way to pick up I get a text that I now have to go to Bedford! Totally unacceptable. I wasted 45 minutes driving to the other location. Not a good way to start a move. It was honestly a terrible experience. We won't be using Uhaul again. I called to book a truck months ago and was told the traffic department would call me that same night to confirm details. A few days later after receiving no call, I called again and someone else said my original reservation was for a completely different type Of vehicle and booked wrong. they updated the reservation and said I should call back if I didn't hear from the traffic department that same night. Yet again, no call. I called back and talked to the manager. She said the traffic department doesn't call until the night before pickup and cancelled both reservations and created a new one. This last call was a month before my reservation. I called a few days prior to my reserved date just to confirm it was all set and to see if it might be available a day earlier, and the person I spoke with couldn't even find my name in the system. He transferred me to a manager. The manager called the traffic dept while I was on hold, and then he came back and told me it wasn't available earlier and my reservation WASNT EVEN CONFIRMED. This is a few days before we needed to be out of my house. I told him that was unacceptable and I had booked months prior, and he said that other people must've booked before me and said I only reserved a month prior (this is because my first reservation was done wrong and cancelled). He then called the traffic dept again and came back to say my reservation WAS confirmed, it was just the location that wasn't yet confirmed. He said the traffic dept would call me the night before to tell me where and when to pick up. I never got a call. Fortunately the truck was there at the location on the day of pickup, which was nothing short of a miracle by that point. Picking the truck up took a very long time. When returning the truck a few days early, my husband asked the person at the counter what the final cost would be. She did not have any answers and said we'd get a receipt emailed. I'm shocked at how awful this experience was. I have worked customer service and always understand the complexities of the job, but this can't be that difficult. Why is no one trained? Why does no one, including managers, have any idea what's going on? Why does the traffic department not call? Anyway, I've already discouraged friends and family from using Uhaul, and we certainly will not ever use Uhaul again.Timothy C.
