Uhaul corporation must improve the way it conducts business. I made a reservation online in good faith that I would receive the truck and service I paid for. I called later to confirm the reservation. This Uhaul representative guaranteed the truck but not the location. So we drove out of the way to pick up the truck. When we arrived no truck was available. The employee there was on the phone for 45 minutes trying to find one. We were from out of state and had no recourse if there was no truck available. If your business is providing trucks for people to move across the country using an online reservation process that GUARANTEES a truck, the customer's entire moving process hinges on this information. The 24/7 pick up was extremely difficult- I got there and went through all the steps to be told my transaction was pending approval and I could not pick up my truck; I tried for 30 minutes to get in touch with someone and could not, so I left to get coffee with the intention of returning when the store opened, when I returned the online service acted as if my truck had been ready since 6 and still prompted me to turn it in at the same time, rather than adding an hour. I paid for 6 furniture pads and only had 2, and the truck seat was dirty, we had to put a towel down before sitting in the drivers seat.McKay W.

Jeremiah was very nice and helpful and has helped us in the past as well. We tried to use the app to check the vehicle in after hours, but for some reason the location services wasn't working on it even though I enabled them for U-haul. We have used the location in Pelham on Pelham Parkway in the past and will continue to do so, even though it is not the closest one. The store is always clean, organized, and in-stock and the check-in and overnight drop-off process is quick and easy. We will continue to choose this location for our moving services.Tiffany O.
The drop-off location should be close to the person's house. I have a uhaul location 1 mile from my house but they won't accept the return. Instead, I have to drive 16 miles round-trip just to drop off my rental. Otherwise everything was great.KEVIN B.

I've used this location several times as I've been moving kids back and forth to college for the last 4 years. Historically, my experiences with this location have been good. However, my most recent experience, I had an extremely rude girl at the counter and was given a truck that looked like hay had been hauled in it and not cleaned out. When I went back in and asked for new truck or something be done, her response, "Well I can sweep it out." She seemed bothered that she would have to do anything at all. While she went to sweep it out, I mentioned her poor attitude to the other counter worker. He offered no input. She passed me as she was walking back to the office, no acknowledgement, nothing. When I got to the truck, I found she had swept all the debris onto my clean blankets I was using the move furniture. The location manager was not onsite, but I will be talking to him. Horrible experience! Plus the driver's door to the vehicle seemed close to falling off based on the air that was coming in around it! The person who assist in my pickup was not friendly nor concerned in the amount of time it took for the pickup to occur. My reservation included a auto trailer which there wasn't one available. Had it not been for an employee from another store there that stepped up and made decisions to provide a trailer promised on reservation at 5 pm (my pickup was at 7 am) then I'm sure my pickup experience would have been worse. My extras (appliance dolly and blankets) I ordered also we're not in truck and I had to get them myself from the retail area and move to truck. I have rented from this location several times. Never have I had a unit have a box spring left in the unit an not swiped out. In the hall way was a very dirt old mattress. I'll be honest- the actual uhaul was fine. This was the second time we have rented from this location but this time we decided to book some moving labor as well. We did this off your website included in our truck reservation. I chose Moving U it has 753 reviews and 5 stars. They were supposed to arrive at 9:30 and did not arrive until 11. They then proceeded to damage multiple pieces of furniture and mess up some of our walls and front door. I called u-haul to see what could be done and even though i paid u-haul for the services and booked them through their website, they told me they werent responsible. I was also trying to figure out the business number and was transferred to scheduling coordinator and she could not provide me with that. When i spoke to the guy in charge for the day that was actually doing the moving he offered me $50 for â€œdamagesâ€ which was a slap in the face.ERIC M.

It was overall okay, but the temperature definitely went above what was intended for the climate-controlled rooms (which is what I was paying for), there were always a lot of dead insects in the hallways, and no matter what I did--even being properly signed in and out each time--that alarm would CONSTANTLY go off when I unlocked my storage unit. This is a rating for the facility itself. The girls up front took a situation that was horrible by the UHaul.com AND UHaul call center, and turned it in to a pleasant experience. By a miracle, they were able to find the unit I requested and was extremely helpful. For UHaul having a website and a phone number that is directed to a call center, they are NOT unified with the processes and the procedures of each individual locations. If a location is not able to hold a storage unit, then the option should not be provided on the website. This can cause a very big mess when you have a truck of 26' that needs one of the biggest units and it not be available, causing the customer to pay more for a late fee or another day with the truck to search for another storage unit. When calling the call center they will make promises but not back up the promises with the actual location. So makes the location look inadequate when really it is the overhead call center not verifying with the workers on the ground floor. The van I rented was disgusting on the inside and outside. It clearly had not been cleaned or wiped down from the past few previous renters. You'd think that in a Covid conscious environment this would be priority. Also I had a low tire pressure light and a light that reads service tire monitor system. The online pickup option was convenient, but involved many more steps than expected. This includes immediate verification of alternative contacts that you are required to provide (they will be called right away as soon as you provide them). I have talked to this girl 2 different times because I rent a unit as well. Both times she has been unprofessional. The asst manager went above and beyond to help with my experience. I understand getting people to come to work is 90% of the battle current day, I am a GM myself, however, having no repeat business because of one person will remove the need of the one person. Easy access, paved lot. Trailer jack used to unhook trailer instead of lifting. Assistant was very pleasant and quick response time. Not about this specific location: I made my reservation to pick up and drop off at specific locations, however the day before, I was informed the only trailer available was 15 miles away. The uhaul 1800 number is slow or non-responsive, the email I sent requesting assistance was never answered. The return location was changed by uhaul after I rented, to a different location 10 miles from where I had made the reservation. Overall, uhaul organization was not helpful. Very tight to drop off large trucks with trailers. When we stopped at the drop off point and waited for someone to come help us no one came. We could sew the person just sitting at the counter doing nothing. I finally went in and was greeted with an attitude. She told me I had to take the truck and trailer around the building and unhook the trailer in a certain spot. It was impossible to put the trailer in the spot and I have many years of truck driving experience. She told me I had to. She finally stormed off to do it bit couldn't. She and another girl unhooked the trailer and were going to move it with smaller truck all the while I was still waiting to get checked out. When I ask her to check me out she said she couldn't until she had the equipment in the right spot This went on for about 30 minutes when I finally told her I should not have to wait for her to put equipment up to get checked out and that it wasn't my responsibility to so that I was going to notify U Haul about all this. She then decided to check me out which took about 10 minutes after I had already been there for more than 30 minutes. I think yhis employee need to be reprimanded for her actions. When we arrived we were told that such a unit was NOT available now nor had it been available when we made the original reservation. While cleaning out our “climate controlled” storage unit last week, we found the temperature to be hot & uncomfortable. We found a thermostat in the hallway near & within 50 feet +/- our unit and saw that the temperature in the hallways was 83 degrees! Of course, inside of our unit, the temperature was much hotter. We were there for several hours on 3/25/2020. We found the thermostat reading at the beginning of our time there. We called down to the local front desk and explained the temperature problem, as well as the thermostat reading, to a man there. We told him that since our unit was a “climate controlled,” inside unit, our expectation was that the temperature should be much cooler thank 83 degrees. He agreed and told me that he would send someone up “immediately” to check out the thermostat & to make any necessary repairs to it, or the cooling system, if necessary. We told him that in all of our previous visits to our unit during the 3 years that we had been renting it, the temperature had always been much cooler. He again confirmed that 83 degrees was definitely hotter than it should be in your climate controlled building & units. We worked in our unit for many hours, without leaving, after speaking to the man at the desk. No one ever showed up to check the thermostat, & the temperature stayed the same (hot!). Throughout our time there that day, I regularly checked the thermostat and it stayed around 83 degrees. We visited our unit several more times over the following few days until we completed the removal of our stored items. The temperature problem was not corrected up to and including our rent termination date of 4:03/2020. Our primary concern is not with our comfort while inside your supposedly climate controlled spaces, it’s with the integrity of our stored items. Because of the expensive value of the furniture & other items that we needed to store when we made the decision 3 years ago, we choose to pay more for a climate controlled unit to ensure protection of our belongings, all of which belonged to my wife’s deceased mother. While inspecting & removing the furniture items, it was apparent that a couple of items had heat-related damage, which we felt like we were avoiding by choosing & paying for ($199 per month). Of course, we are very unhappy about the damage, & are very dissatisfied with the product that we received from uHaul, who we thought we could trust with these valuable items.DON C. | Overall Experience
