Erika MRental moved to a location farther from my house, and I only noticed from a text I received one day before the rental. I reserved an appliance dolly, but there were none at the new rental location. Their response: "call around to other U-Haul rental locations and see if they have one." that was very frustrating, and a poor response. What is the point of reserving an appliance dolly with the rental? The truck leaked; some of my belonging were wet when I removed them. I've had better rentals with U-Haul; this was disappointing.

DAVID HMy problem is not with the locations, but with the website. When I went to the screens to select a location to pick up from the app froze. After reinstalling, the app still froze. I called support but they were unable to help fix the app. After returning home, I tried the app again and it works. I was on the road when it wasn’t working, but I had good cellular connection.

From the staff calling to confirm appointment times and arranging for pick up and deliveries to our driver who did the pick ups and deliveries, everyone was super friendly and helpful. We had used the Ubox system in 2012 for a long move and now with a short move. It is nice to see the Ubox's have been updated as well. Great service, highly recommend!

WILLIAM SU-Haul changed my location of pick up of vehicle without my being clearly notified after refusing change. Unilateral change cost me time, money and inconvenience to eventually rent the vehicle. I am extremely disappointed in UHaul’s lac’ 9f customer concern and convenience and will consider different rental companies the next time I need to rent a small enclosed truck. Shame on UHaul at the Corporate/national level.

When we dropped off the trailer, we informed them about the issue. I received a courtesy call from the Uhaul company within a few minutes after leaving informing me that they checked the lights on the trailer after we left and said that they were indeed working and that we must have blown a fuse in the truck we were in. I thought that was very kind and considerate to let us know that the issue was on the truck.

Daniel C | Overall ExperienceEverything from picking up the truck at Old Monrovia and after was excellent. Checking in prior to pick up expedited the process and the trunk ran great albeit a bit older, e.g., manual locks, windows and mirrors. Prior to pick up was not satisfactory. I booked my reservation for a 10 foot truck at 8am at Old Monrovia. Midafternoon the day before my reservation I received a text indicating that I could pick up my truck at 9:30am at a location 15 minutes further away. I contacted reservations letting them know this was an issue, primarily the time change. They said I could pick it up that afternoon and they'd add another day and some mileage to my reservation. Okay; I went to the other location (a storage facility) and it was locked up and no one answering the phone. Reservations said I could get a 15 foot truck at the Old Monrovia location which I ended up doing but wished I were compensated for the added fuel costs associated with the larger truck.

Jeffrey LWe worked with Amanda and she was wonderful. We were not able to give much notice but they had the truck ready for us within 10 minutes of us reserving it. There was a slight discrepancy with the amount of miles driven - apparently another employee had driven the truck to another location and back without noting the mileage, causing us to be overcharged. Amanda resolved the problem quickly and professionally.

It was very frustrating to be in the unit when the lights went out and I'd have to stop what I was doing and try not to trip or step on anything while finding my way out and to the end of the hall for the motion detector to find me and turn the lighting back on so I could walk back to my unit and start back on what I had to stop when the lights went off while I was in it. This is not a dispute, but merely a suggestion to possibly alleviate future stress it might cause to others.

The staff is reliable and friendly and any problem you may have. The staff handles with the most integrity. I’ve seen as an owner, For quite some time now! Would recommend to anyone for storage. And or Shipping needs. If you rent a uhaul, your first month is free. How could you not? Ask them, not me.

However, one of the bright spots was the U-Haul Facility at Old Monrovia Rd. The storage areas were clean and well lit. The staff was friendly, efficient and easy to laugh. They had inventory of trucks ready to accommodate the different and unexpected circumstances that seemed to follow us round. If you are moving in, or away, this U-Haul will make the move easier.

The cost was 79 a month I was late on my first pymnt I was charged 272 dollars . I asked if that coverd feb.and March. I was told it did. Well almost every night after around 2 or 3 a.m the system you have kept trying to charge my debit card Luckily my card is locked or your people would of been ripping me off. Frustrated over all this I gave my belongings and Jason the manager offered to surrender my things if I paid an agreeable amount. By April their were plans to sell my unit already. I called and asked when this would happen and he said he didn't know, yet I got an email stating my unit was going to be sold although no one could tell me when so I could bid on my things. I feel like the employees you have working their are ripping people off by making charges on their debit cards at dark thirty.when I rented the truck the employees acted way to happy that I was paying cash. I watched as they took cash out and put it in there pockets. I know when a person moves or buys a house I'm sure a loan is involved and large amounts of money is in a person's account. So possibly skimming off it may go unnoticed but I am poor and my bank account had very little money in it but apparently your employees felt otherwise because almost every night they tried to charge my debit card while I was sleeping. After the first time this happened Jason assured me it was a mistake and would never happen again well it didn't happen during business hours again it happened at between 2 and 4 am. I wonder how many other debit cards were charged and it went unnoticed by the owner of the account? I have proof of theses charges I have proof that I paid for Feb and March and my late fee . Yet I was still receiving notices for charges by uhaul a couple days after my payment was made. So I lost my belongings and no I will not recommend uhaul. In fact I have told everyone I know that uhaul is a rip off or at least the employees that represent uhaul are thieves and will try to skim bank accounts at night while you sleep so you never see the notification on an email or text.

However, I don’t think I have ever seen staff move so slowly when signing you up for a unit and closing one out. It was insane, waited 40mins in a line with 3 associates working and 3 customers ahead of me. Also the slide cards for the security system are a joke. They work about half the time on 2 of the 4 readers at the building entrances.

WALTER J | Overall ExperienceVery unorganized. Staff did not communicate with each other. I believe I spoke with three different people told them we would be there on a specific day at a specific time, and when I arrived at that exact time everybody was surprised saying I was supposed to be there the day prior. They had put all of our boxes away and that caused a delay. I had hired movers for a certain amount of time and we had to go over the time because of U-Haul‘s mistake. The only person that knew how to operate the forklift was also operating the computer, she left a gentleman in charge of had not worked the front desk one day in his life and had no idea how to input customer information. Even after we had mail and I went back to check to see if everything was OK and found out Randy none of our information was saved in the system. Everything had to be redone. Then as we were unloading our queue boxes, we got a message from U-Haul saying if we did not respond to their message, our contract would be terminated. This is while we were standing on U-Haul property! It is a broken system that needs to be replaced. Moving is stressful enough we do not need any of these extra headaches.

The alarms and cameras gave added assurance that our storage would be safe until we could move it, into our home. The neighborhood corner was so helpful. I had purchased covers for moving furniture but, went off and left in another vehicle. I was able to use something from the corner. What a good idea!
