I don't like U-Haul's approach to not starting trucks with a full tank. That saves U-Haul some time and expense, but forces the renter to refuel in route even for fairly short one-way rental and then guess at how much gas is needed to return the tank where it started. Initially the truck I was set to receive was one with 1/4 tank. The person at the location helped change me to a truck with 1/2 a tank - or almost half a tank, but I still have to add gas just before reaching my destination. This location and the truck were fine, but in the future I will shop for other rental trucks next time instead of just joining direct to U-Haul as I have always done.Noel P.
First of all, our location was moved about 8 miles away from where I needed to pick it up. Then I arrived and asked where the appliance dolly was for our moved that we reserved and was informed â€œIt's up to them if they want to release them to a client on a one-way moveâ€ because they were running low and only had 3 left they refused to allow me to have a dolly for my move! I made a reservation advanced online and requested an appliance dolly. However, when I got there is was explained that they were out and even though I reserved one, there wasn't one available. It would be helpful if that was communicated or made not an option if that is the case.Zachary B.

VERY DISAPPOINTED, MY WIFE AND I WERE RENTED AN UNSAFE AND POORLY INSPECTED TRUCK! THIS COST US AN EXTRA $250 IN UNEXPECTED HOTEL STAYS AS WELL AS MY WIFES BIRTHDAY WAS RUINED AND WE LOST AN ADDITIONAL $185 FOR TICKETS TO SEE THE 76ERS PLAY THE HORNETS ON SATURDAY DUE TO THE UNSAFE TRUCK DELAY. Every person we encountered at the Monrovia Facility was helpful and considerate. The ease of flow between hallways was good. The alarms and cameras gave added assurance that our storage would be safe until we could move it, into our home. The neighborhood corner was so helpful. I had purchased covers for moving furniture but, went off and left in another vehicle. I was able to use something from the corner. What a good idea!Mary E. | Overall Experience

The only issue that I had with getting a U-Haul was the reservation. When I signed up for it online several days in advance I was informed that it would be at a closer location. The reservation got moved to a location 15+ miles away. I then ended up having to pay more for the rental because of the $0.99/mile charges. Had I known at the time I probably could have rented a larger truck at a closer location and paid the same price. I will know for next time or maybe I will use a different rental company.David S.

This is the best, cleanest, newest state of the art U-Haul Center I have ever been to. Top it off with the nicest, most courteous best employees ever at a U-Haul Center and I will 100% recommend this location to everyone and I'll use them again in the future. They even have a brand new temp controlled storage facility there at Research Park U-Haul Storage! Marshall was super helpful as well!Christopher O.
1. Your Onlinne system let me choose to pickup a truck that was 3 miles away. 2. Then , days later you sent me an email, changing the pickup location to 15 miles away. 3 Then, when I tried to use chat they were unable to help me 4. Then I called the 1-800 number for help, stayed on hold for an hour only to get my connection dropped. 5 So, I called the iniitial pickup location, they confirmed they had no truck for me. 6 So i arrive the next morning to pickup the truck but the online App still tells me to go to the Initial location.so I cant use the Automated check-iin. We had reserved an appliance dolly, but none were at this location. So, we called every location in our area and there were none available anywhere! We had to get a utility dolly instead and this made our move extremely difficult! Furthermore, we had rented a pickup truck and the workers at the store had us clean out the bed that was covered in snow! Lastly, they told us to fill up to a half tank, but the car was under a half tank when we got it. I was very dissatisfied and would not recommend. U-haul needs to verify that they have the equipment they say they do or at least give some kind of discount for the inconvenience.Drake R.
The first truck I was given had a roll up door handle that was bent in on itself. It was quite difficult to open. The truck also did not start (likely because the temp dropped from 70 to 25 overnight. When I was swapped to another truck, I was told it had a similar amount of gas as the first (1/8 tank). The tank was on the first hash above empty (maybe 1/32 tank). Shouldn't give out trucks with that little gas.Samuel D.

I rented a truck from them and I was told in the printed contract the truck had half a tank of gas. When I got in the truck, it only had a quarter tank. I went back to the agent to inform them of the discrepancy. After waiting another 20 minutes (had to wait for the agent to finish assistanting the next customer waiting behind) , the agent asked me to take a picture and return the truck with the same about if fuel as received, which i did. On return, the agent said I was all set and didn't need to do anything else, no updated invoice was given as they were helping other customers. A few weeks later, i see a charge I never agreed to. Over $20 of fuel charges! What a fraud and waste of my time to fix this mess. You should keep tanks full so customers don't have to deal with this hassle.
