The vehicle I rented broke down 2x and I ended up having to abandon on a major expressway and lost a full day of moving. My 26ft truck was replaced with a 10ft truck that created 3x the work and mileage incurred. .RICHARD L.

I was charged fees that were not explained . I didn't receive a receipt until 2 days later , recent was sent to a different email then what was given. I was charged twice for the same equipment, I called in to address these issues and extra charges an had a guy in customer service answer the phone and blame everything on me an was very rude . His name in my email after he finally sent it said KYLE MILLER. After KYLE MILLER argued with me back and forth instead of listening to my issues I asked him to transfer me to a supervisor he then hung up on my IMMEDIATELY. I rented a 9' van and it smelled of cigarettes and the alignment was off to the point I had to keep it slightly to the left to go straight. Hey Kevin. Not sure how my experience differs from others but others but I constantly had mice in my unit for almost the full 4 years I was there and they nested in my rug, carpet tiles, packaged tv wall mount hangers, tub/box of hand tools and memorabilia and had feces all over the place that ruined a floor lamp and required me to clean everything I had in storage from my 2 bed apartment. I filed a claim with Joshua Buzi at repwest and they said they would get it to local managers to review. Can you tell me how that is going? I would like to be compensated for the items that were ruined trusting that my possessions would be safe at your location. Its not much. I handled most of the issues with my own sweat equity which was actually very tough and big job that I was not planning on doing. I will wait until I hear back before I review further. The person who helped me when I got the truck was nice, but it was downhill from there. Got in the truck and the entire cab smelled like cat urine. My boyfriend is allergic to cats so the ride was unbearable for him he chose to ride separately. Returned the truck an hour early and made sure there were no messes (swept up back of truck) and accidentally put a little bit more gas in it than when we picked it up but that was my oen fault. Returned the truck and had to call customer service because I wasn't texted a receipt like I said I would be. Then I was charged over $35 for gas even though my original paperwork (when i got keys for truck) showed that I returned the truck with more gas than when I picked it up. Customer service was helpful, but now I am having to wait for a refund for the extra amount I was wrongfully charged. I am not very well ofd and that $35 is a huge amount when I needed it for school supplies for my kids! Had an awful experience!Justina W.

I rented a van at 5:30 pm and returned it at 6:30 pm. The time on the door says that they are open until 7:00 pm. When i returned the van the door was locked at 6:30 and the manager was inside and had me put the key in a drop box. They charged me an additional $ 20:00 after hrs. fee. Your app sucks! I tried to return the truck after hours. It wanted me to scan a barcode on the front door but the none of the barcodes on the front door worked. Eventually accepted my location via GPS. Walked through all the pictures. Had to turn on the ignition to get the correct fuel amount. I locked the doors (manually since there are no power locks) but left the key in the ignition. CHARGED $150 FOR LOST KEY!! Then charged $7 for a dolly I didn't use. Then charged extra miles for a different pickup location. My $100 1 day rental cost me $275 !!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!Michael M.

The 17' truck i used had horrible breaks....potentially dangerous. The steering was incredibly sloppy with apparent front alignment issues which coupled with break problem may prove to extremely dangerous for someone without experience driving a truck.Steve S.
Very worn truck- bad exhaust manifold leak- bad loud transmission- great brakes though.. very rude customer service when returning. Brought back truck exactly with the same amount of fuel when i picked it up which was actually below 3/8 and i returned it the same way i received it a was charged $20.90 fuel charge. Why would you except to have customer put more fuel in the returned truck than was in it when i picked it up. I also noted Uhaul said it was 120326 miles on it when i picked it up but before leaving / moving the truck i noted it saying 120327 miles.. i feel this location is trying to make / charge extra unnecessary fees on their customers. It was an older truck, fan switch was broken off, (in the high position fortunately) and someone had obviously smoked in the cab before I got it. The air conditioning worked but could barely make it cool. At my first stop, the truck wouldn't start, so I had to call for road-side assistance who showed up more than a hour later. I was very happy he got the truck started, but I wasted all this time not loading the truck in case they couldn't get it fixed.Jeffrey M.

I really enjoy going to this location as the employees are always nice and try their best to get customers in out in a timely matter and even when I made a mistake on my reservation they were able to correct it and get me into a truck within minutes, I think them so much for as I know that I can be difficult to deal with at times but they have never lost their temper with me...Thanks so much to the Irondequoit location staffTomeki B.

My huge negative was a big problem with my reservation was when you confirm a reservation just give a confirmation number do not give a confirmation to a location and time which I received and then get called the night before stating that my location and time of pick up was a different place and time just give a confirmation number and let the customer know that they will receive a call the night before to confirm location and time . I got an email stating my pick up time I ordered my truck two months in advance and couldn't get my preferred location am I preferred time. Was not made clear to me when I booked my reservation with an agent on the phone that I don't have a choice on where I'm picking up and what time. I was called the day before stating my pick up time and location that were well out of my way and well outside of the time that I needed the truck so my recommendation is please don't do that. My storage unit was overrun by mice. Anthing that was wrapped in paper was shredded and they urinated on my furniture. So much was ruined. Overall the storage place is nice and secure with the gated entry. There is light outside the units but no light inside making it hard to see. The area is clean and well maintained but there is a bad rat and mouse issue. The droppings were huge which lead me to believe it is rats. I found a dead small mouse outside my unit as well. They got into one of my bags that you heat up in the microwave and put on your shoulder. Apparently it had grains in there which they sniffed out. They tore it up and got grains everywhere, they made nests in my bedding and chewed through some cardboard boxes. There were several bedding comforters with rat pee and poop and grain where they were clearly sleeping. I'm having to get all my bedding cleaned and some have to be tossed because they chewed holes in it.Ebtisam E. | Overall Experience
Found some mice/rat droppings 3-4 months in and notified staff. Manager gave us his card and said they exterminate regularly and can’t control what people have in their storage unit. Moved out a couple months later and everything was FILTHY. Rat/mice droppings everywhere and on everything. Didn’t purchase insurance because I didn’t think this would be an issue. My experience was excellent other than that I just have one thing that would really really help people (that's why I didn't give five stars). Please please please please please please please I beg of you, do something about the fact that you highly overestimate how much can fit in a storage unit. People rely on your estimates for their move. They do not have their own experience with this. The same problem goes with the u-haul trucks. A storage unit for a one bedroom no way fits a one bedroom. Same with a U-Haul truck, as experienced with a separate apartment's contents by a family member. Even the one to two bedroom storage unit and the one to two bedroom U-haul truck do NOT fit all the contents of a one bedroom. My family member had to change U-Haul trucks twice. Even the moving company I used said that you guys were overly optimistic when it comes to thinking what fits. I am not sure that you realize the implications of this overestimation. If you cannot fit everything into a storage unit, you have to change storage units, which can be an extreme stressor. I had to try three different storage unit sizes. If there is a U-Haul truck that does not fit everything into it not everything can be moved and precious things have to be thrown out and repurchased. I am not sure if the person that owns the company has not moved or experienced this or what is going on. I would recommend sendng out surveys asking people what size fits or so if it is such a problem. I would recommend you do something about this. I don't know why this is done by your company. I don't see the benefit to your company. We are puzzled by this, because you are a very very wonderful company other than that. Your staff is kind and patient, your return policy is excellent, and you are more than willing to help out. In summary, your company is amazing and awesome and your customer service is absolutely excellent. I just went into my recommendations because I thought it would help you with your future customer service as well as your customers.
