Staff was great. Equipment was worst I have ever used. I have rented one-way long haul before. The truck kept having the ABS light and traction control light come on. Called the roadside assistance to review. Told was completely normal and OK to drive. Truck kept shaking as if one of the back brake was fighting me when driving causing a terrible shake of the truck. Driving 900+ miles with that bad of a ride was infuriating and makes me think I'll go with Penske next time. Which is sad because I have only used Uhaul for nearly 25 years, but this last use of a truck was not worth the money. The terrible shaking of the truck damaged some of my furniture and boxes. I properly packed and wrapped my belongings too. Extremely disappointed with my experience.

Calvin C.The Customer service representative should be commended. She was by herself taking care of new customers and those returning the vehicles. There were so many returns the person behind me had to park on the street. The people in front of me had a problem with their return, so she had to call around for assistance to resolve the situation. There should be a minimum of two people at a location - one person for returns and one for new customers. There was an information system problem because the final receipt never arrived and was not available online until the next morning. The next morning, I had to search for the receipt only to find the receipt behind the initial estimate. Keeping the files separate, placing the final receipt first, and/or telling us to look for the receipt after the estimate would be much better. I didn't have the heart to tell her the driver-side visor needed repair. The latch was completely missing. The passenger seat had a large tear but was not mentioned in the acceptance photos or comments. There were dents and paint scraps everywhere labelled with tape indicating the spot needing repair was marked. The photos in the acceptance app, did not show a large body repair on the driver-side front hood, let alone all the smaller ones around the truck. If they are marked and with that quantity and quality/size these should be repaired. Some poor soul will undoubtably get stuck with paying for the repair a second time because the tape came off. I would recommend UHaul only if they get the complete damage waiver which added 52% to the Actual Charges. There needs to be more CSRs, the information system needs to help, the vehicles need to be repaired periodically and more often.

VINCENT L. | Overall ExperienceWe had a storage unit at this location for almost 1 year while we were waiting for our home to be finished out of state. This location was the most convenient to us, but I would not recommend it to anyone. First of all, the storage unit that was given to us had about a 3 inch gap between the ground and where to door should have closed to the ground. This left it open for higher risk of damage to our stuff from environmental causes. We noticed it was one of few throughout the storage facility that had this problem. When it snowed some of our items up front by the door would get wet and ruined, luckily nothing too important to us as we figured this would be an issue later on. The grounds were never kept clean and clear of glass, nails or other damaging items. We ended up with 2 nails in our tires most likely due to the same nails found near our storage unit left for people to run over without noticing. Also one night we were going through some things in our storage unit and were approached by a uhaul employee who told us we needed to leave because it’s past the access hours. Not in a professional or kind way either. We paid the extra money for the after hours access and after letting her know that she proceeded to call her manager on the phone and after about a 15-20 minute ordeal things got cleared up finally but it was an extremely frustrating experience and horrible customer service. We noticed it was the SAME employee that was living in a broken down RV inside the storage unit gates for months. This made us feel uneasy every time we were there and it looked very trashy almost like a homeless camp. That is EXTREMELY unprofessional to have an employee (or anybody for that matter) living inside the storage unit facility gates. We had another storage unit at a Public Storage not too far from this location and it was GREAT! We put our more expensive and important items in that storage unit and we definitely made the right choice. The unit given to us closed all the way, was very clean and they kept the ground clean and clear. I do not for see us needing a storage unit for a long time if ever again but if we ever did I would never go back to this location and I would recommend to anyone else needing one the Public Storage not far from this location.

The full details of my concern are detailed there. I’ve used U-haul many times with excellent customer service, so this encounter at store 21 was unusual and shocking. The woman I saw first was seriously unhelpful, stating blatantly false information, refusing to help me, and sending me to another location in error. I was in a second time an hour later and spoke to the manager Mark who refused to even acknowledge his employee’s obvious misstep or the impact on me - or apologize in any way. He actually threatened to turn me away if I didn’t drop the discussion about how his employee completely misinformed and misdirected me in the first conversation. His behavior was aggressive, inappropriate, and starkly unprofessional. I have obvious mobility issues and he mocked me. I don’t know why this fellow is working with the public, let alone serving in a leadership role.
