This was my worst experience with uhaul EVER! Showed up at 6:40ish, lights out at store, called, finally attendant came to door at 6:55 and said store is closed - call or use the app. It was raining and she talked to me through the door. She left and I was able to get the truck at 8:26. The next morning at 7 the manager called and said I was given the wrong truck and that I need to return the truck to their store to avoid additional fees. Funny, the manager didn't want to talk the previous night. Look at my history, I'm a loyal customer- this was an awful experience.John H.

My box springs and king size bed platform took water damage and I threw it away. I was pretty much forced to remove all my belongings from my paid storage unit because they would've removed it themselves. I was left to last second come up with a solution to find a place to store all my things. It also didn't help I was only able to go into my storage on their time. I had to have permission just to go in my storage unit when I paid for 24/7 access. You guys went back on stuff which is in the contract. Would NOT recommend U-Haul overall. Reserved trailer at one site, recd call day prior to pickup @ different site 12 miles away. Went to pick up, NO TRAILER. They sent me to a THIRD site even farther away and FINALLY picked up desired trailer. Terrible, inconvenient RUNAROUND! I called u-haul at the local number for Ohio Street in Oshkosh, WI on Dec 29. I don't know who I spoke with. Using my phone number, they found my information from previous uses of u-haul at that site. It was my understanding that at the conclusion of the conversation I had reserved a 20' truck, furniture dolly, and 12 blankets for the afternoon of 12/30. On 12/30, I called to verify that the equipment was available, and was initially told there was no revervation, then the person used my phone number and said the reservation was there and the equipment was available. When I arrived at the Ohio St site to pick up the equipment I spent more than two hours at the location, I was told I didn't really have a reservation, and I was required to deal with a new person who didn't know what she was doing. I was sent to the Koeller location because they didn't have a furniture dolly at Ohio St, and I it appeared that there was a conversation with a person at Koeller St. I was told that had a 20' truck, furniture dolly and blankets. When I arrived at Koeller St. the person there was very helpful, but said the Ohio St woman hadn't called there, and they didn't have a 20' truck. I called the Ohio location again and asked whether I could get the 20' truck they had if I went back there. I asked if they could begin the paperwork so I wouldn't be wasting more of the time I had planned for moving, and the answer was sure they would have it ready when I returned. When I returned, the new person was on the phone with someone else and none of the paperwork was done. I was again required to work with the new person. Meanwhile, someone came early for a 20' truck that was to be returned at 6:00pm. An experienced person worked with this, and the 20' truck that had been promised to me was given to these people while this new person struggled with the paperwork, and I was told that I could come back after 6:00 to see if another truck had been returned. As a consequence, I came back at 9:00am the following morning, as it was uncertain whether there would be a truck at 6:00, and it was too late to accomplish enough to make it worthwhile. Because the time was wasted on the 30th, I had to have the truck a second day - not only the wasted time, but costing me an extra $60+. I will never use this site again, and I will try to find another company ot lease from next time I need a truck. Besides the frustration of this, if you want to make this right, you will reimburse me the $60 it cost because my time was wasted on the afternoon of 12/30.BYRAN B.

That online experience was not pleasant. It was not clear where the key was and the system repeatedly wouldn't let my photos count and at one point jumped me back three steps. It just was not a pleasant part of the experience. That said the truck worked great.david R.
Once we started loading realized it was so small went back to get next size. The girl working was new and by herself didn't know how to do the exchange. Called but couldn't tell me how much that would cost to upgrade since we only had 30 minutes to exchange. The only hiccup I had in the entire process was the mobile check in. I opted for the mobile check in, to be sure I didn't have to talk to anyone due to COVID 19, but I ended up having to anyway because there was a lack of responsiveness on the end of the person who was handling it. Maybe it was my fault, but I'm not so sure about that. Other than that my experience was very good, and I'd definitely recommend.Nathan S.

I had called the facility on 9/24 and indicated that I would be in on Saturday to move everything out of the unit. I stated that I would be willing to pay for the 2 extra days of use. The representative said ok. When I arrived at the facility on Saturday morning at 7:15am. We had to wait for the door to be unlocked even though it was supposed to open at 7:00. We rented a 10' u-haul truck for the expressed purpose of cleaning out the storage unit. Once we were done, we returned the truck to the facility. The person made us wait outside and had a poor attitude when questions were asked about being refunded the difference in mileage. She argued that we were never charged even after me showing her the pending charge on my account. A couple hours after leaving the facility, we received a call from the unpleasant person who had checked in the truck stating that we owed 149.00 for the storage unit. I advised that I had spoken with someone 2 days prior and had advised that I was moving out today and that I would be paying for the 2 extra days of use. And nothing was said about paying the full amount. She said that it was told to me because there is a note on the account. I advised her again that it was not and said that I hope their calls are recorded. She said she would send it to her manager. A little while later I received an email receipt for the payment. I called the facility about it and told them that I do not authorize them to make the charge and I will pay for the 2 days that I stated before and was told ok. The "manager" got on the phone and started saying that she was the one who had spoken to me and that I was told it would be the full amount. I said no listen to the phone call because that was not said. A little while later I received a link via email to the recorded call, which the representative knew I would not be able to access since I am not an employee. Then after sending an email stating that and that I would be calling corporate, I received a screenshot of a note in some account. This was a very poor experience. I have been a uhaul customer for many years and have used u-hauls truck rental at least 4 times in the past 5 years, but around 10 times in my lifetime. I have spent quite a bit of money with u-haul and due to this experience, I will be searching out other options if/ when I move again.Susan R. | Overall Experience

I made a reservation for a location in Fond du Lac, I was told or it was indicated that someone from Uhaul would contact me for confirmation and pick up. I confirmed pick up early in the process (Thursday for a Monday pick up) I get a text on Sunday evening at 5 PM telling me that the equipment is not in Fond du Lac but in Oshkosh, 20 miles away. I had to scramble and jumble my schedule in order to get this pick up as this was not the planned location.Jose R.

The existing manager is very competent. She and the other staff were always courteous. However, in spite of communication with multiple staff (both at the local store and the national call center), it wasn't until weeks after choosing to use U-Boxes (multiple) that I was informed that dual trailers (required to pull two boxes at a time) were not available, unless I chose to to pick it up at a store 50 minutes away. Also, I requested a pick-up of a truck (from a different local store) and one of my already filled U-boxes to occur at 7AM on a Sunday. I was told no problem. No one bothered to tell me that the store didn't open until 9AM on Sundays. Neither did they mention the "24/7" process that would have allowed me to pick up these items in the absence of staff. Another customer had the same experience that day. To be fair to the local store staff, some of the lack of communication on the matters above likely also occurred when speaking with reps at the national call center. Regardless, these are at least two examples of poor customer service that I experienced when dealing with U-Haul.david S.
