The truck was dirty on the seats and the dashboard was so dusty and dirty with sand, my son cleaned it with half a pack of wet wipes, before he sat in it. Otherwise the truck itself was great. The gas mileage is phenomenal and the employees are very helpful. I will definitely rent again from there in the future.

Truck was really stinky - like fish smell. It was not very powerful. I've rented trucks from many other companies and by far the worst moving truck ive ever had. Only reason i choose u-haul is bc that's the only one in Houghton Lake. For any other moving i will go with another company.

My comments and observations: 1. It takes too long to pick up the rental vehicle even when you prior register. There was only one person in the office and four people waiting to get their vehicle or check in their vehicle. 2. The vehicle had bird droppings all over it. It was disgusting. 3. The vehicle drove very well and was easy to maneuver. Very clean inside. 4. I thought a dolly would be automatic in the vehicle, it was not. One was not offered at the time of pick-up. Then found out that you had to pay extra for that! It should automatically be one available in each vehicle. People are obviously moving large items or several items, it should be a given tool! 5. I absolutely hate that everything is done by your mobile phone. I was not able to connect to the website upon return and had to call in to the U-Haul Customer Service number. It took me 45 minutes to finally complete the vehicle drop off. And, then I had to wait 15 minutes the next morning and call to assure everything was OK and I did not need to do anything further because I was not able to finalize the drop off the night before because I could not connect to their Website. The lady stated there was a "glitch" on the site at that time. 6. I liked the convenient location of U-Haul on Waverly Road. 7. Why does U-Haul advertise the $19.95 Rental Rate when your final charges always come to at least double that amount? It would be nice to have a lower rate for rental when someone is only using the vehicle for an hour and a half. My final total came to $42.03. I went 30 miles - from Lansing via highway to East Lansing, dropped off bedroom set right off of Waverly Road where U-Haul is and drove 2.5 miles down the street to U-Haul. All complete within an hour and a half - $42.03 rental fee + $5.00 gas = $47.03. That's a bit steep in cost. 8. I appreciated that I could contact U-Haul the day I needed the van and they had one available for me. I hope my comments will aid other renting people and U-Haul.

The only issue I had was the following. I pre-registered pre-paid Pre did everything online. However, when I got to the store at 8 AM there was a line around two or three people in which only one U-Haul worker. Therefore, they had to stay in and wait in line but yet I was pre-paid it didn’t make a lot of sense

Vehicle was ancient and the alignment was way off. When dropping the vehicle off the employee was literally standing there with a cigarette in his hand. The people at the desk moved slowly and seemed very lazy. Lots of work to do at this location.

Dustin in East Lansing was very helpful. Called in advance in New Jersey to confirm my reservation. Moving my son each year from dorm to apartment and back home for last 3 years. UHAUL was a great choice. Dustin was busy that Saturday (graduation at Michigan State) but kept his promise and delivered. Swing door 5 x 8 and was very personable. In August I will return to Dustin a trailer rented from NJ.

Inside of windshield was filthy, steering was loose, the floor was vacuumed but everything else was dirty. When I returned the truck a staff member walked up to me and stated, "give me the key", no hello, no how was everything, proceeded to be rude. Even though this location is closest I will not go here again.

The team at this location is way understaffed. The senior member did an outstanding job. He was taking care of customers himself while trying to help/train the junior associate. He new the computer system and was trying his best to deal with the incredible amount of screw ups your centralized reservation and service area in GR created throughout my entire experience.

The vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana when we came in- it was strong enough that someone had obviously just smoked in there. A store attendant also rolled his eyes at us when he saw us walk in.

None. The clerk who did both my truck rental and storage was EXCELLENT! He went out of his way to help me and handled an irate rude last minute individual very well. I was running late during a chaotic moving day and he stayed after to make sure he handled my reservation clearly and to my satisfaction. He really could've been rigid and not cared about my situation but he was understanding and empathetic and SO APPRECIATED!

I did not appreciate being told that my insurance DID NOT cover the truck rental. The associate does not know anything about MY insurance policy. My Insurance DOES cover the truck rental and it feels kinda creepy that someone with no Knowledge speaks with an air of Authority that is in fact FALSE. Please educate your people to speak with proper Knowledge and with RESPECT to YOUR customers. Otherwise my experience was good and I would return to that store when needed. Treating customers with respect and dignity would be more highly valued by people. Thank you.

I got my truck about a day and a half later than expected. Nothing but problems. Was out in the cold dark rain by myself crying. Talked to at least 13 different people trying to get this truck. I know you have the recordings. I will never again use this. And somehow got charged for 100 miles how the fuck would I do that in less than one day from one point to another?

I was disappointed. I have never rented a uhaul before, I was told to bring the trailer back between 3:30 and 4:00. I was 6 minutes late getting the trailer back because I parked the trailer in the parking spot until realizing I needed to pull up somewhere to drop it off. Was never told when checking out. My bill went from $25 to $50... unhappy.

It has been my experience that if the trailers are used on a rainy day, they will leak in one way or another. U-Haul really needs to get better at re-sealing the seams and rivet holes on them on a scheduled basis. My most recent trailer rental not only was leaking from its ceiling in at least one spot, but the seam the runs along the front-bottom connection was letting a disgusting black water/dirt/grease grime mix spray through into the interior, so anything that was right up against that front-bottom crease in the middle got wet and dirty. Also, the inside of the roll-up door is always absolutely filthy. The floor has usually appeared clean at a glance when you first rent the trailers, but they too usually have a nasty film of grime. I just automatically line the floors with old sheets or something so the bottom of my things doesn't get filthy. I shouldn't have to do that. I think the price on the trailers is very inexpensive, and I'd gladly pay more if U-Haul would make sure someone thoroughly wiped down the entire interior before renting each time.

The customer service at this location was absolutely horrendous. The truck I reserved was not ready on time; the customer who rented it prior to me was supposed to return it by 9:30am and my rental was reserved at 10. Why are they booked so close together? I did not receive my truck until 10:30, making me late for a furniture pickup I had scheduled at 10:30. The worst part of the entire experience was "Mo", the lady who "helped" me. She was rude, inattentive, and terrible to deal with. She would not give me any information as I stood there for 30 minutes wondering if I had a truck or not, and then acted as if she did me a huge favor by giving me a truck - 30 minutes late! She clearly did not want to be at her job, so I recommend Uhaul terminate her employment since she clearly does not appreciate it anyway. I was simply offended by her behavior and treatment.

Oh my God where do I start I rented a trailer with so many dents there were like 100 X stickers on it LOL what a joke and the attendant ran out putting more on and I might say the trailer is old as heck and it's like over used bald tires with grease oozing out of the bearings and your worried about dents LOL also took me 42 minutes just renting a simple trailer that I have rented multiple times over the last 20 years and I rent at uhaul often but I see uhaul going down hill they certainly dont care about my time and all the rules unbelievable!.... take a photo of my licence both sides and text it to someone? while he has looked at it and confirmed my info are you for real??? Take pictures of the dents hay dont you charge people for INSURANCE if it gets any worse I will stop renting from uhaul. Maybe you should be in a different business like valet parking OMG. The only good thing from this experience was the nice employee that helped me.

I was charged for more than twice the miles I drove, because the starting mileage of the rented van was incorrect. I had travelled the identical route nearly two months earlier in a small truck. Of course, I had to satisfy the terms of the contract since I hadn't personally checked the odometer, relying instead on the registration clerk who checked out the van. This type of mistake should not happen in a well-managed office and with a well-trained crew.

Totally unorganized. The phone call to book the tow dolly was a wreck they had no idea what was going on. It took for ever to do the paperwork, an hour later I was finally back in my truck. I was so close to leaving to go somewhere else. It took me less time to get the car and bring the tow dolly back. The price was to high to rent for a couple hours. I was embarrassed for the people working here under trained, zero customer care!!!

They went to another dealer to pick up the trailer I was going to go to later that day since they’ve originally did not have it but since I saw that I was going to rent a U-Haul trailer hitch pin and why should I go somewhere else so they picked it up and brought it to the dealership. But I have to do this it was very helpful person with a handicap very difficult for me to move around. But I will always recommend U-Haul if I was at the gold standard for anything they do thank you

Wording for the 24/7 needs to be closely looked at cause when I finally got the reservation it ended up being after store hours. Nowhere did I see plainly that it had to be done within store hours to be complete. Even after it said I was all set I wasn't and no one took the time to confirm. Other than that it was all good.

My only criticism is your policy of not providing prorated months to tenants who move after a partial month. You guys can earn double on the space for a number of days. Seems like an unethical policy.

After making reservations and moving from one location to another, on arrival they did not have the storage unit we reserved we had no option but to rent a much larger unit at a greater cost to us.

My outside storage facility had easy access for me to pack and unpack. The staff was great! I would highly recommend this U-Haul.

The storage facility is infested with rats! Their droppings were everywhere. It was so bad that I was forced to dispose of my sofa upon moving out. I could not bring myself to sit again.

Several times, the check in/out system did not work. I paid for extended access, and when the system didn't work, I couldn't access my items. On one occasion, I found the outside door wasn't locked.

you moved my things out of the storage then you have violated my rights and I will be sueing this company I have been waiting for a call from the supervisor and never have I gotten a email call

The manager is hostile, the after-hours access sets off an alarm every time because they will not fix the card reader, and the staff never picks up the phone even when there are no customers in store.
